Naya Rivera to remain on ‘Glee’ Associated Press Writer
LOS ANGELES — Naya Rivera is still a Gleek. “There is no truth to the rumor Naya has been fired from the show,” the Fox Network noted in a statement released to The Associated Press Saturday night, which concluded, “She remains under contract to ‘Glee.’” Rivera plays Santana Lopez, a lesbian glee club member, on the popular musical drama. Before “Glee” actress Lea Michele arrived Saturday morning at the premiere of her latest film, the animated “Legends of Oz: Doro-
thy’s Return,” a publicist for Michele said her client would not comment on co-star Rivera, the subject of numerous rumors and reports over the last week. But Michele did reveal “Glee” had a fifth-season wrap gathering Friday night. It’s been a difficult year for the series’ cast and crew, in the wake of the July 2013 overdose death of actor Cory Monteith, who had been romantically linked to Michele. “I have to say I owe so much to the cast of ‘Glee,’” Michele said. “Loss is a horrendous thing, and if it wasn’t for their constant support, and, every

Impact of AEC, tour guides feel threatened
Bali Post
DENPASAR - Anxiety is currently experienced by Balinese people related to the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2015. Since the preparations have not been maximal made by central and local government, Balinese people are overshadowed with the concerns of becoming a slave in their home region. As expressed by a tour guide, I Wayan Darma, he had confidence to be less competitive against the overseas manpower capabilities. Moreover, Bali was a tourist destination of the world and foreign tour guides would be vying for a living to this Island of Gods. “In terms of language mastery,
they must be better. Surely they also prepare and equip themselves with knowledge and the culture of Bali. As a result, local tour guides in Bali do not have a plus value. Moreover, not all tour guides can speak the languages of the travelers coming to Bali,” added Darma, while asserting that such condition
would threaten the existence of local tour guides. Today, according to Darma, many illegal tour guides were operating in Bali whereas they only had a holiday visa, but on arrival in Bali they even worked. Other than becoming a compatriot tour guide, they also taught surfing. “I see their practice in Kuta and Nusa Dua. In addition to disrupting local tour guides, they also harm the local surf coaching business opportunity. It has already happened today, let alone after the implementation of the AEC,” he said. He hoped the government to have a strategy to protect the lo-
cal labor. The government should give constraints so that foreign workers could not fully tyrannize Bali. In addition, the government was expected to aggressively conduct training so that local workers could have a skill. “If this condition is ignored as such, we’ve got the land but is cultivated and enjoyed by others. After a long time, we will be definitely displaced,” he said. Anak Agung Arjawa, Chairman of the Bali Environmental Care Forum, was pessimistic to be able to compete when the AEC had been enforced, especially in agriculture, because many agricultural products
were currently still imported. “Our society is reluctant to use local products, let alone foreign people. It is indeed funny, as an agrarian country we are importing agricultural products. It has been fatal and in terms of the image is not good. Our competitiveness remains low,” said Arjawa. As the impact of the AEC, said Arjawa, it was not favorable to Indonesia, including Bali. The agricultural products of Indonesian farmers had not been able to attract overseas consumers, so the import products continued to flood Indonesia. Continued on page 6
