Pop singer Katy Perry fearless in “warts and all” film portrayal Reuters

LOS ANGELES - It started as just another concert film, but as Katy Perry’s marriage to comedian Russell Brand unraveled, her new documentary transformed into what she called a “warts and all” depiction the pop star is happy to show her fans. Katy Perry

“Katy Perry: Part of Me,” which debuts in 3D on Thursday, is anything but standard fare. Most performers wouldn’t dare show fans what they look like first thing in the morning without makeup, or worse, doubled over bawling backstage in costume. But Perry insisted that everyone see. “I’m OK with showing what’s behind the curtain,” Perry, 27, told Reuters in a recent interview. “I’m OK with showing that side of me because it helps people relate (to me) better and think of me as a human being.” On its face, the movie chronicles the singer on her first world tour in 2011, but as the year played out, “Katy Perry: Part of Me” chronicled the demise of her marriage to Brand, whom she wed in 2010. By December 2011, they had split and in February, they divorced. The film shows Brand early on, happily visiting Perry backstage and picking her up in his car. But soon he disappears from the story, and Perry begins to suffer emotional breakdowns and fits of crying while her team of handlers seems helpless. The movie humanizes Perry in a way that is rare in Hollywood where the star-

making machinery cranks out performers who, seemingly, live glamorous, carefree lifestyles of which others only dream. In fact, Perry’s success has been based mostly on a larger-than-life, almost cartoonish image of herself with ever-changing hair color and overthe-top outfits featuring cupcakes and lollipops. She sings pop songs such as “California Gurls,” “Hot N Cold,” “Teenage Dream” and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” Her third studio album, “Teenage Dream,” saw five singles hit No. 1 on music charts - a first for a female. She has sold 11 million albums worldwide and earned 8 Grammy nominations.

NEW YORK — Jon Bon Jovi is going Unplugged in a bottle. Avon Products Inc. announced Monday that the 50-year-old rock star is the company’s newest celebrity fragrance partner. He’ll appear in ads for both Unplugged for Her and Unplugged for Him. The company said the inspiration for both scents is the unique feeling one has listening to a favorite song. The goal is “an emotional connection.” The women’s version, which will be available through Avon representatives and online in October, is a floral oriental perfume, and the men’s is a woody floral musk fragrance. It will go on sale in November. Both Avon and Bon Jovi said admiration for each other’s involvement in philanthropy largely drew them together as partners.

Situation in the court room during Bali Post vs Governor Bali trial on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. The verdict of this trial will be announce on July 17.

The Head of BPS Bali, Gede Suarsa, said that percentage of poor people in Bali in March 2012 reached 4.18 percent or slightly decrease 0.02 percent if compared to March 2011 reaching 4.20 percent. “With the adequately high economic growth, Bali has managed to reduce the rate of poor people even though relatively a few,” said Gede Suarsa in Denpasar. He said that food commodities had the lion’s share namely 70.05 percent compared to non-food commodities only reaching 29.95 percent toward the formation of poverty line in Bali. Meanwhile, the poverty line in Bali in March 2012 increased by 7.22 percent, from IDR 233, 172 in March 2011 to IDR 249,997 in March 2012. “Poverty line in urban and rural

areas increased in that period. Urban increased 6.99 percent, while the poverty line in rural areas increased 7.66 per cent,” he explained. Government programs implemented during the development so far had paid a great attention to the fight against the poverty eradication. However, Suarsa said that poverty issue was still a longdrawn problem. Even, Bali known as a world tourist destination had not yet been able to escape from the issue. Chairman of the Indonesian Economist Association (ISEI) of Bali, Prof. Dr. Ketut Rahyuda, said the economic growth of Bali was shored up by consumption sector, both domestic and government consumption, triggered the high rate of poverty.
