Depp, 53, one of Hollywood’s top actors and box office draws, will co-star in the 2018 sequel to “Fantastic Beasts,” due out in theaters on Nov. 18, Deadline.com, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety said, citing unnamed sources. The reports also said Depp will make a cameo in the first film, but did not reveal what part he will play. Time Warner Inc-owned Warner Bros studios did not formally announce Depp’s casting, and a representative for the studio did not immediately return requests for comment. Little is known about the plot of “Fantastic Beasts,” which stars Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne with a screenplay by Rowling, featuring new characters, story and set in New York in 1926, long preceding the “Harry Potter” books and films, which were set in England in the 1990s. Rowling revealed earlier this month that “Fantastic Beasts” will be the first of five new movies set in her wizarding world. The new franchise will trace the rise of a powerful wizard named Gellert Grindelwald and his eventual 1945 duel with Albus Dumbledore, the popular wizard headmaster from the Potter stories. Rowling’s seven-book “Harry Potter” series sold more than 450 million copies worldwide, and the film franchise, which ended in 2011 with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” took in more than $7 billion at the global box office. DENPASAR - The Benoa Bay reclamation plan must be stopped before it is too late. The plan has already caused great discord and hor- izontal conflicts that could lead to even more severe friction. Additionally the claim that the reclamation will help to clean up garbage and help the sedimentation problem in Benoa Bay is ill-founded as reclamation is not an appropriate solution to these problems. Conversely, the reclamation plan could trigger more severe sedimentation in the bay and make it impossible for Benoa Harbour to funtion. “If the water is dirty, the bay should not be reclaimed, rather the source of pollution needs to be
addressed. Reclamation will cause the water in the bay to be reduced and the pollution will remain at the sames level but become even more concentrated –the water will be dirtier. The bay should not be reclaimed instead, the source of pollutants must be controlled”, said Chairman of the Coastal Engineering Research Group from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Muslim Muin Ph.D., during his presentation at an Anti-corruption Journalist Workshop in Denpasar, on Tuesday (Nov.1). Predictably, the sedimentation would become increasingly severe and could even shut the mouth of Benoa Bay. “If this happens, Benoa Harbour would have to be shut down and moved to another location. Also, Benoa Bay would no longer serve as an estuary and the tidal waters would no longer flush out the bay, so the water in the bay would become freshwater. Mangroves in the area would certainly die as they need saltwater to survive”, he explained. Prof. Muslim added that Bali would loose the economic marine ressources of Benao Bay and flooding would also be exacerbated. People who think that the reclamation of Benoa Bay will be fine because they compare it to to the reclamation in Dubai, he said, are wrong. Head of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries’ Marine and Coastal Data Library, Widodo Setiyo Pranowo, stated that the Total Allowable Area for Coastal Reclamation (TAACR) ananylis needs to be done if reclamation is to take place. TAACR analysis takes into consideration a combination of technical and socio-economic aspects of the environment. Analysis of the socio-economic and cultural impacts therefor also need to be presented in comprehensive detail. “Analysis of the socio-economic and cultural impact is very important. If even before the reclamation plan has started, people have already hit the roof, and horizontal conflicts amongst members of the public have already resulted in friction, well... it is advisable to stop the project while it is still in the planning stages”, he said.
Widodo added that Benoa Bay is very vulnerable to tsunami. The population living near Benao Bay are at extreme risk of exposure due to the refraction of the tsunami waves (trapped waves) that cause tsunami wave amplification. This is why it is not recommended to create new islands in Benoa Bay, especially islands inteneded for oc-
cupancy – it is not appropriate. “Deliberately making small islands meant to shelter people here is tantamount to killing these people and is very dangerous” he explained. India says it is committed to global tobaccocontrol treaty
NEW DELHI - India reaffirmed on Tuesday its commitment to a World Health Organization (WHO) tobacco-control treaty, despite lobbying from its $11 billion industry that opposes some measures in the treaty that will be discussed at a conference next week. Delegates from about 180 countries will attend the Nov. 7-12 conference near New Delhi on the only global anti-tobacco treaty, called the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). The treaty aims to deter tobacco use that kills about 6 million people a year, including about a million in India. Reuters reported last week that tobacco industry groups were lobbying the government with letters and signature campaigns to safeguard the interest of farmers and to ensure that no “unreasonable” proposals are adopted at the conference. The Tobacco Institute of India (TII), the cigarette industry body, said in Sept. 28 letter to the government that “there is no obligation
on any signatory to the FCTC” to comply with its provisions. The government response to those letters has not been made public but on Tuesday, the health ministry published half-page notices in several newspapers to say India would apply the treaty’s provisions. “India reiterates its commitment to the full implementation of WHO FCTC,” the ministry said in the notice, that included a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government said in the notice that tobacco “drains the economy” of nearly $16 billion a year. The TII, which represents cigarette makers including ITC, part-owned by British American Tobacco, and Philip Morris Interna-
tional’s local partner, Godfrey Phillips, declined to comment about the government notice. Last week, tobacco farmers protested outside the health ministry and the WHO regional office in New Delhi asking the government to boycott the conference. More than 100,000 farmers also sent the government a petition seeking protection from FCTC rules. Tobacco groups want India to include farmers in its official delegation. A health ministry official said last week the government would not agree to their requests. The tobacco industry has been at odds with the federal government this year over a rule requiring makers to print bigger health warnings on packages. The WHO FCTC conference decisions, designed for implementation at national level by signatories, have a direct bearing on the nearly $800 billion global tobacco industry. (rtr)

Adults who bike regularly, whether for fun or for transportation, may have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease than people who don’t spend much time cycling, two recent studies suggest.
Biking for work or play may stave off heart disease ODENSE - Adults who bike regularly, whether for fun or for transportation, may have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease than people who don’t spend much time cycling, two recent studies suggest. While plenty of previous research has documented the health benefits of biking as part of a regular workout routine, the current studies offer fresh evidence that cycling for commutes or leisure may also be good for the heart. “Many people think that being physically active means doing regular structured exercise, which can be a huge barrier to an active lifestyle,” said Anders Grontved, senior author of one of the studies. “Our study shows that biking either for recreation or as a way to commute is also great for heart health,” Grontved, a researcher at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, said by email. For this study, Grontved and colleagues analyzed data on more than 45,000 Danish adults who biked regularly for commuting or recreation. Over 20 years of follow up, bikers had 11 percent to 18 percent fewer heart attacks than people who didn’t do any cycling, researchers report in the journal Circulation. Overall, participants had 2,892 heart attacks during the study. Researchers estimate that more than 7 percent of all heart attacks could have been averted by taking up cycling and keeping it up on a regular basis. Biking as little as an hour a week provided some protection against coronary artery disease, the
study also found. And the results also suggest it’s never too late to start. Among adults who didn’t bike at the start of the study, those who took up cycling within the first five years had about a 25 percent lower risk of developing heart disease than the people who remained non-bikers. This study is observational, and can’t prove that commuting by bike or cycling for fun actually prevents heart attacks, the authors note. A second study in the Journal of the American Heart Association study also linked bicycle commutes to several factors that can influence heart health including lower odds of obesity, high cholesterol or elevated blood pressure. For that study, researchers followed more than 20,000 Swedish adults over 10 years. At the start of the study, the average age was about 43 and people who biked to work were 15 percent less likely to be obese, 13 percent less likely have high blood pressure and 15 percent less likely to have high cholesterol than those who used public transportation or drove to work. By the end of the study, people who switched from sedentary commutes to biking commutes were also less likely to be obese, have diabetes, hypertension or high cholesterol than the ones who remained non-bikers. At the end, people who biked had a 39 percent lower risk of obesity overall, 11 percent lower risk of high blood pressure, 20 percent lower risk of high cholesterol and 18 percent lower diabetes risk. DENPASAR — Head of the Agung Market, Peninjoan village, Nyoman Suwarta, said on Tuesday (Nov. 1) that the price of large chilli peppers continues to increase. Based an Agung Market price survey, the price of large chilis in the first week of October reached IDR 34,000 / kg, then in the second week it rose to IDR 40,000 / kg, and in the first week of November rose again to IDR 45,000 per kg. Meanwhile the price of small chilis in the first week of October reached IDR 23,000; in the second week of October it went down
slightly to IDR 22,000; and in the first week of November jumped to IDR 35,000. According to Suwarta the price
increase is perhaps due to the rain that started in October: “maybe, it is because of the rainy season, but it cold be cuased by many other factors too. This month is seems that it is because of the weather”, he said. Most merchants at Agung Market buy their goods directly from farmers so they have a good idea about conditions that affect prices. Melinda who runs a Manado style restaurant located on Jalan
Badak Agung, uses lots of chillies for the dishes served there and said that the price hike impact on her business. “The price hike of chilies is considerably felt by us becuae we use so much chillie in our dishes” she said on Tuesday (Nov. 1). Melinda siad that she purchased large chilies for IDR 50,000 last week and that prices have been hovering aroudn IDR 30,000 to IDR 50,000 per kilo for the past few weeks.
Her profits have necessarily gone down, as she cannot change he price of the food in her restaurant though she still uses the same amount of chillies. “Thus, the portion of chili is not reduced, but our profits are reduced” she said. The price of spices like chilli and onions tend to fluctuate every year and Melinda said tat that she has padi even more than IDR 50,000 per kg of chillies in the past. (may)

TABANAN — To follow up on the case of a toddler at Batungsel Kelod, Batungsel, Pupuan, having contracted Japanese encephalitis (JE) disease, a team from the Bali Veterinary Agency has taken samples from eight pigs raised by local residents to be analysed but the lab results have yet to be issued. The Tabanan Livestock Agency considers it quite important to get the lab results in order to determine subsequent measures handling the prescence of the JE virus. Head of the Tabanan Livestock Agency, Wayan Kotio, said on
Tuesday (Nov. 1) that his agency has not received the lab results from the veterinary agency. He has instructed Division Head of Animal Health to coordinate with the veterinary agency. Once they have the lab results, Kotio said that they can determine the best course of action. He added that they are still hoping that the lab results for the samples taken from the pigs will not indicate the prescnece of Japanese encephalitis. “If the result show that these pigs do have JE, we will immediately provide JE vaccinations to the pigs of local residents. Now, we are
still waiting”, he said. As reported earlier, a 1 and a half year old todddler from Btungsel Kelod, named Putu Yuliantara was diagnosed with Japanese encephalitis and although the toddler is no longer being hospitilized, he is still recovering and is undergoing physiotherapy to helop restore his limp legs. Chief of Tabanan Health Agency, Nyoman Suratmika, not long ago explained that JE is found in pigs and is trasmited through the culex mosquito that commonly lives in o=both highlads and lowlands. Renovations at Candikusuma hampered by abadoned building
NEGARA - Renovations to the rest area at Candikusuma village in Melaya, is not runnign smoothly because of an old building that stands adjacent to the locations of the rest area.
Apparently, the building cannot be dismantled because it does not part of the district government’s asset. However this abandoned building that was formerly used as a monitoring post contrasts severly with the new buildings around it. The rest area located on the cliff overlooks the ocean with a view of the sunset. The abandoned building is severly damaged and roofless and has become completely overgrown. Next to it there is also a tower that was used to monitor attempts at smuggling cattle along the beach. The whole thing gives the impression of haunted grounds – not very conducive to enjoying the sunset. GIANYAR - Dozens of suspected of sand stone miners have been arrested by police but illegal mining done by hand or using sandstone cutting machines remains rampant. Severly rivers in Ginayar, including the watershed located in the norder of Sukawati and Kemenuh village are also being targeted by such criminals. As seen on Tuesday (Nov. 1) morning, dozens of sand stone miners were heading to the nearby stream. Most of them were elderly and using hoes and other traditional tools for cutting into the stone. “We are not using sandstone cutting machines, we only use traditional tools”, said one miner who asked to remain anonymous The most prevalent illegal mining of sandstone in the district of

AMLAPURA - Due to poor care, a total of 16 deer in the cage at Pursana ecotourism, Nawakerthi village, Abang, are now in apprehensive condition. In addition to be skinny, fur of the deer also falls out. This is based on observation a few days ago at the ecotourism formerly greened with the Vice President Umar Wirahadikusumah in 1984. All this time, treatment of the dear is assigned to the Wanasari farmer group of local village by the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) Bali and the Karangasem Forest and Plantation Agency. Currently, since no budget is disbursed by the Karangasem Forestry Agency, three of 21 members of the group are only paying devotional work or ngayah. Every day the farmer group is assigned to look for fodder in the forest. However, since farmers are also busy with their daily work, respectively raising cattle and getting trouble in finding fodder for their cattle during this dry season, the deer finally just get sober fodder, while drinking water is also difficult. It happens because the cistern built near cowshed has long dried out. Thus, the deer is miserable, difficult to get fodder, and the drinking water is dry. Two buildings formerly taken advantage for meeting or discussion by local farmer group have been destroyed and the roof tiles fell down. A local farmer group member, Wayan Jati, said that other than limited food and drinking water, the fur of skinny deer has also fallen out due to lack of maintenance. There are no drugs and farmers do not understand what drug to be given in order to
prevent them from falling out, like a mangy. “In the past, there were officers or veterinarians coming and giving counseling to farmers, but now they rarely come. More sadly, they never come. The officers will only come if we make a report,” said Jati. The deer were brought in by the government of Bali Province in 2008. As planned, the deer population will be made into one of the tourist attractions in the eastern foot of Mount Agung, next to the Tanah Aron memorial monument. Originally, ten deer were imported. They have proliferated into 16 heads. Actually, the deer population growth is said to fairly slow. In addition to living miserably and looking skinny due to lack of maintenance, some heads already died. Actually, the ecotourism denoting a part of the forest in the national greening week 1984 inaugurated by Vice President Umar Wirahadikusumah landing at the scene by helicopter from Jakarta was interesting enough for foreign travelers. However, the animals live miserably due to poor management and without arrangement. The old damaged highway has been repaired so that it looks smooth. in the region. Najib also wrote that disputes in the South China Sea should be resolved through dialogue in accordance with rule of law. China claims most of the energy-rich waters through which about $5 trillion in ship-borne trade passes every year. Neighbours Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam also have claims. “When it comes to the South China Sea, we firmly believe that overlapping territorial and maritime disputes should be managed calmly and rationally through dialogue, in accordance with the rule of law and peaceful negotiations,” he said. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin said on Tuesday that Malaysia had pledged with Beijing to handle South China Sea disputes bilaterally. SEOUL - The scandal engulfing South Korean President Park Geunhye has plunged her conservative Saenuri Party into turmoil and cast the country’s political landscape into disarray as it heads into an election year. Park’s approval rating has been dragged to an all-time low of just 17.5 percent in a Realmeter poll as prosecutors investigate whether an old acquaintance exerted inappropriate influence over state affairs and gained personally from their friendship. The opposition has been moving carefully since the crisis involving Park’s friend Choi Soon-sil erupted, refraining from demanding the president step down or raising the idea of impeachment. If Park gives up her position, the law requires that an election be held in 60 days. Analysts say the opposition is unprepared to take on the ruling party in such a high stakes contest so soon. of such an election would be entitled to serve a full five-year term. Chinese foreign buying binge gives authorities a headache SHANGHAI - Wealth managers like Huang Qing are tormenting the authorities in Beijing. The Chinese government has introduced a slew of measures to curb capital outflows in recent years as it seeks to prevent a sudden plunge in the yuan. They include cracking down on underground banks and sales of foreign insurance products that are more like investments, increasing scrutiny of overseas deals, and keeping tight restrictions on foreign currency purchases by individuals.
Yet Huang says he still finds legitimate ways to move his clients money overseas, creating a headache for China’s central bank as it seeks to keep the currency, which is also known as the renminbi, relatively stable. “Over the past year, we have helped many clients allocate their wealth into U.S. dollar assets, and the biggest obstacle we encountered was how to move renminbi overseas in a proper, legal manner,” Huang, Shanghai manager at CreditEase, which specializes in managing money for wealthy Chinese investors, recently told a forum in Shanghai.
CreditEase, which has been raising money from Chinese investors to buy property assets in the United States and Europe, sets an investment minimum threshold of $150,000, but Beijing caps individual foreign currency purchases at $50,000 a year. “So, we had to use the $50,000 quotas from all their family members, both old and young, to meet our investment threshold. This is what we have been beating our brains out to do for our clients over the past year,” said Huang. It is paying off. Since last April, CreditEase has successfully raised more than $300
million from Chinese investors for two dollar-denominated real estate funds, and is now launching a third. It is this kind of activity that has increased demand for the dollar and pressured the Chinese currency. The yuan has declined to its weakest levels against the dollar in six years, touching 6.7869 last Friday. During the first nine months of this year, individuals and companies made net foreign exchange purchases of $243.4 billion, according to China’s forex regulator, though the pace is down from the $465.9 billion recorded in 2015 when a plunge in Chinese stock markets unnerved investors. Meanwhile, China’s foreign currency reserves have fallen to $3.17 trillion at the end of September, from a $3.99 trillion peak in June 2014, indicating that the Chinese government sold U.S. dollars to prop up the yuan’s value. The administration of the Tangerang city has been working to reform its public services by leveraging the information technology to maximum extent. As a first step, UGM provides training to the Tangerang city administration personnel for a shift towards smart city development. Smart city is an answer to the challenges in city administration posed by a rapid population growth. “One solution to deal with the growth of population is applying the smart city concept. Experts have projected that over the next 30 years, this transformation into smart cities can help save 30 percent of the energy consumption in the world,” Dedy explained. The Deputy Director of the Regional Capacity Building at the Ministry of Interior, Gensly, informed that Tangerang city was chosen among the smart city pilot project sites in Indonesia as the administration has been optimally applying and improving its public services. “We have selected seven cities and three districts to implement the smart city project, and Tangerang is one of them,” he noted. BENGKULU - Two Rafflesia gadutensis have bloomed in two different locations in North Bengkulu District, about 70 kilometers from the Bengkulu city, Bengkulu Province. “One of them has bloomed in the residential area of Kuro Tidur village, while the other has bloomed in Boven Lais protected forest area,” said Septian Riki from Rare Flower Care Community (KPPL) of North Bengkulu, on Tuesday. He said that the one which bloomed in Boven Lais on Monday (Oct 31) was around 58 centimeters, with roots hanging from the host plant, Liana sp.
After a visit to the location of the rare flowers, the members of KPPL of North Bengkulu said that the flowers were found hanging on the roots of the host plant, which is a rare position. “Parasitic Rafflesia usually blooms in the roots that emerge from the soil but can also be attached to the roots that hang,” he explained. It would take about 45 minutes from Argamakmur city by motorcycle to view the rare flower in Kuro Tidur village. The flowers would be seen within 3.28 kilometers from Post Pokdarwis in Lais Air Dam 4. The other Rafflesia gadutensis in
Boven Lais Protected Forest area is just 10 minutes away from Argamakmur city, North Bengkulu. “We estimate the flower to bloom in the next three days,” he said. Visitors who wish to enjoy the uniqueness of the rare flower, which has a smaller diameter than Rafflesia arnoldii, can visit the Boven Lais, where the Palak Siring waterfall is also located. Besides Rafflesia gadutensis, there are three other rafflesia species endemic to the rainforest of Bengkulu, namely Rafflesia arnoldii, Rafflesia hasselti and Rafflesia bengkuluensis. (ant)

Clinton camp says FBI should say what it knows about Trump’s Russia ties
WASHINGTON - A top aide to Hillary Clinton urged the FBI on Tuesday to disclose what it knows about any ties between Donald Trump and Russia, accusing the agency of unfairly publicizing its inquiry into Clinton’s email practices while staying quiet about the Republican presidential candidate. The Federal Bureau of Investigation opened a preliminary inquiry in recent months into allegations that Trump or his associates might have had questionable dealings with Russian people or businesses, but found no evidence to warrant opening a full investigation, according to sources familiar with the matter. The agency has not publicly discussed the probe. A week before Election Day, the Clinton campaign was trying to contain damage from the announcement by FBI Director James Comey on Friday that his agency was looking into newly discovered emails that might relate to Clinton’s use of a private server while she was secretary of state. MH370 report says plane in ‘increasing rate of descent’ when it vanished
SYDNEY - A report into missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 by the Australian safety investigator leading the search supports its view that the aircraft descended rapidly after running out of fuel with no human intervention, the agency said on Wednesday. Flight MH370 disappeared in March 2014 en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur with 239 passengers and crew onboard in one of the world’s greatest aviation mysteries. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) report released on Wednesday said analysis of wing flap debris showed the aircraft was not configured for a landing. It also said satellite communications from the aircraft were consistent with it being in a “high and increasing rate of descent” when it vanished, colloquially known as a death dive. The 28-page report contains new end-of-flight and drift simulations that suggests experts believe the current search area is the most likely to contain the crash site. It coincides with the start of a three-day meeting of international experts to develop potential plans to continue the search. ATSB search director Peter Foley told media on Wednesday that analysis of a wing flap had “enhanced certainty” at what had happened. “It was probably in a nonextended position which means the aircraft wasn’t configured for a landing or a ditching,” said Foley, referring to the practice of extending wing flaps to allow an aircraft
to travel safely at slower speeds in preparation for a landing. “You can draw your own conclusions as to whether that means someone was in control or not.” The question of whether there was human intervention during the descent is crucial because if the aircraft glided, the debris field could be outside the 120,000 sq km (46,330 sq mile) search zone which has almost been exhausted. Authorities assume the plane had no “inputs” during its final descent, meaning there was no pilot or no conscious pilot. They believe it was on auto-pilot and spiralled when it ran out of fuel. But the engineering group leading the search, Fugro, has previously raised the prospect someone could have glided the aircraft to explain why it hasn’t been found. Jason Middleton, head of aviation at the University of New South Wales, said the wing flap analysis was of limited benefit. “It meant the pilot was not alert, awake or planning a safe landing - that’s all it means,” Middleton told Reuters. He said the new drift simulations only showed the aircraft was “in that generic part of the ocean” that is being searched and did not help define a new search area in the Indian Ocean. In a separate development, a lawyer for the families of four Australian victims told Reuters that Malaysia Airlines had agreed to release information about the missing plane as part of a compensation case. The International Automobile Federation (FIA) said in a statement on Tuesday that its president Jean Todt had decided, “on an exceptional basis”, not to take disciplinary action against the four-times world champion. The FIA made clear, however, that any such incident in the future would be met with a summons to its International Tribunal. Vettel could have faced anything from a reprimand to a race suspension if the governing body had decided to take disciplinary action. The FIA said the German “spontaneously sought out” Whiting after the race and had, on his own initiative, also sent letters to him and Todt “in which he apologised profusely for his actions”. “He also indicated that he would likewise be contacting (Red Bull’s) Max Verstappen and vowed that such an incident would never occur again.” Vettel’s outburst, in the closing laps, was broadcast to a worldwide television audi-
ence on Sunday with the swear words beeped out. Whiting drew his ire after race direction did not immediately order Verstappen to let Vettel past when the Dutch teenager gained an advantage by cutting a corner while defending third place. In a farcical conclusion, Vettel was promoted to third after the race and appeared on the podium before being demoted back to fifth for an illegal defensive move of his own against Verstappen’s team mate Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian was moved up to third and Verstappen, who had finished third on the road but dropped to fifth after a five second time penalty, fourth. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner said on Sunday that what Vettel had done was similar to a soccer player abusing the referee and he expected some sort of punishment for his former driver. NEW YORK - Former world number one Tiger Woods will make his competitive comeback at next month’s Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, an event which he hosts, after being sidelined for more than a year. “I am excited to make my return at the Hero World Challenge,” the 14-times major winner said in a news release on Tuesday. The Tiger Woods Foundation is a charitable beneficiary of the Dec. 1-4 tournament, which will be held for a second year in a row at Albany Golf Club in New Providence. The 40-year-old American has been sidelined for 15 months due to back-related issues. Woods had initially planned to return at last month’s PGA Tour’s Safeway Open in Napa, California but he withdrew three days before the opening round, saying his game was not sharp enough. “After a lot of soul searching and honest reflection, I know that I am not yet ready to play on the PGA Tour,” Woods said at the time. “My health is good, and I feel strong, but my game is vulnerable and not where it needs to be.” Woods has not played on the PGA Tour since August 2015, having undergone surgeries in September and again in October of that
year due to ongoing back problems. The greatest player of his generation and arguably of all time, he has not won a tournament anywhere since 2013 and his title drought in the major championships dates back to 2008. Woods will make his return to competition in elite company at the Hero World Challenge where a high-quality but limited field of 18 players will vie for the title. Long-hitting American Dustin Johnson, the U.S. Open champion, and British Open winner Henrik Stenson of Sweden head a powerful line-up at Albany Golf Club that includes eight of the world’s top 13 players. “Every year we put together a top field that showcases the best golfers from the previous season,” said Woods. SUNDERLAND — David Moyes’ problems as manager of struggling Premier League club Sunderland have escalated after he was handed a one-match touchline ban for verbally abusing a match official. Moyes was sent to the stands after remonstrating to the fourth
official following a decision by referee Chris Kavanagh not to award Sunderland a penalty late in the team’s 1-0 loss at Southampton in the last 16 of the English League Cup last week. Moyes admitted to a charge of misconduct and also received a fine of 8,000 pounds ($9,800) to go

Griezmann’s goals send Atletico into CL knockout phase MADRID — Atletico Madrid reached the knockout stage of the Champions League after Antoine Griezmann pounced in stoppage time to score his second goal of the night and seal a dramatic 2-1 victory over Russian side Rostov on Tuesday. Griezmann grabbed the winner for last season’s runners-up when a hopeful long pass was headed on by a Rostov defender, and the France forward managed to toe the ball into the net off the underside of the crossbar. The referee awarded the goal after speaking to his linesman, apparently to make sure the ball was headed back by a Rostov player, which meant Griezmann was not off-side when he made contact. Sao Jose to a runner-up finish last month in the Brazilian Cup. Alvarez led Brazil to a gold medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games, but failed to get a medal at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. WASHINGTON - A top aide to Hillary Clinton urged the FBI on Tuesday to disclose what it knows about any ties between Donald Trump and Russia, accusing the agency of unfairly publicizing its inquiry into Clinton’s email practices while staying quiet about the Republican presidential candidate. The Federal Bureau of Investigation opened a preliminary inquiry in recent months into allegations that Trump or his associates might have had questionable dealings with Russian people or businesses, but found no evidence to warrant opening a full investigation, according to sources familiar with the matter. The agency has not publicly discussed the probe. A week before Election Day, the Clinton campaign was trying to contain damage from the announcement by FBI Director James Comey on Friday that his agency was looking into newly discovered emails that might relate to Clinton’s use of a private server while she was secretary of state. Clinton has voiced confidence the FBI will not find anything problem-
atic. She campaigned on Tuesday in the battleground state of Florida, where she was joined in Dade City by former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, whom Trump had mocked for gaining weight. Chants of “Lock her up!” from dozens of Trump supporters gathered nearby could be faintly heard while Clinton spoke. In Ft. Lauderdale, a young man who yelled, “She’s a liar” was escorted out of the rally. MH370 report says plane in ‘increasing rate of descent’ when it vanished
SYDNEY - A report into missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 by the Australian safety investigator leading the search supports its view that the aircraft descended rapidly after running out of fuel with no human intervention, the agency said on Wednesday. Flight MH370 disappeared in March 2014 en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur with 239 passengers and crew onboard in one of the world’s greatest aviation mysteries. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) report released on Wednesday said analysis of wing flap debris showed the aircraft was not configured for a landing. It also said satellite communications from the aircraft were consistent with it being in a “high and increasing rate of descent” when it vanished, colloquially known as a death dive. The 28-page report contains new end-of-flight and drift simulations that suggests experts believe the current search area is the most likely to contain the crash site. It coincides with the start of a three-day meeting of international experts to develop potential plans to continue the search. ATSB search director Peter Foley told media on Wednesday that analysis of a wing flap had “enhanced certainty” at what had happened. “It was probably in a nonextended position which means the aircraft wasn’t configured for a landing or a ditching,” said Foley, referring to the practice of extending wing flaps to allow an aircraft
to travel safely at slower speeds in preparation for a landing. “You can draw your own conclusions as to whether that means someone was in control or not.” The question of whether there was human intervention during the descent is crucial because if the aircraft glided, the debris field could be outside the 120,000 sq km (46,330 sq mile) search zone which has almost been exhausted. Authorities assume the plane had no “inputs” during its final descent, meaning there was no pilot or no conscious pilot. They believe it was on auto-pilot and spiralled when it ran out of fuel. But the engineering group leading the search, Fugro, has previously raised the prospect someone could have glided the aircraft to explain why it hasn’t been found. Jason Middleton, head of aviation at the University of New South Wales, said the wing flap analysis was of limited benefit. “It meant the pilot was not alert, awake or planning a safe landing - that’s all it means,” Middleton told Reuters. He said the new drift simulations only showed the aircraft was “in that generic part of the ocean” that is being searched and did not help define a new search area in the Indian Ocean. In a separate development, a lawyer for the families of four Australian victims told Reuters that Malaysia Airlines had agreed to release information about the missing plane as part of a compensation case. Chinese foreign buying binge gives authorities a headache SHANGHAI - Wealth managers like Huang Qing are tormenting the authorities in Beijing. The Chinese government has introduced a slew of measures to curb capital outflows in recent years as it seeks to prevent a sudden plunge in the yuan. They include cracking down on underground banks and sales of foreign insurance products that are more like investments, increasing scrutiny of overseas deals, and keeping tight restrictions on foreign currency purchases by individuals.
Yet Huang says he still finds legitimate ways to move his clients money overseas, creating a headache for China’s central bank as it seeks to keep the currency, which is also known as the renminbi, relatively stable. “Over the past year, we have helped many clients allocate their wealth into U.S. dollar assets, and the biggest obstacle we encountered was how to move renminbi overseas in a proper, legal manner,” Huang, Shanghai manager at CreditEase, which specializes in managing money for wealthy Chinese investors, recently told a forum in Shanghai.
CreditEase, which has been raising money from Chinese investors to buy property assets in the United States and Europe, sets an investment minimum threshold of $150,000, but Beijing caps individual foreign currency purchases at $50,000 a year. “So, we had to use the $50,000 quotas from all their family members, both old and young, to meet our investment threshold. This is what we have been beating our brains out to do for our clients over the past year,” said Huang. It is paying off. Since last April, CreditEase has successfully raised more than $300
million from Chinese investors for two dollar-denominated real estate funds, and is now launching a third. It is this kind of activity that has increased demand for the dollar and pressured the Chinese currency. The yuan has declined to its weakest levels against the dollar in six years, touching 6.7869 last Friday. During the first nine months of this year, individuals and companies made net foreign exchange purchases of $243.4 billion, according to China’s forex regulator, though the pace is down from the $465.9 billion recorded in 2015 when a plunge in Chinese stock markets unnerved investors. Meanwhile, China’s foreign currency reserves have fallen to $3.17 trillion at the end of September, from a $3.99 trillion peak in June 2014, indicating that the Chinese government sold U.S. dollars to prop up the yuan’s value. Now, new President Rodrigo Duterte’s government is aiming to bar the employ-on-contract practice because it offers no job security, health or other benefits and tramples on workers’ rights. TANGERANG - Indonesias Interior Ministry, in collaboration with the Central for Digital Society (CFDs) of the University of Gajah Mada (UGM), is working on a smart city development pilot project in the Tangerang city. “Tangerang city is among the cities that can potentially become smart cities, thanks to the administration’s efforts to pursue this objective by applying and developing the smart city concept,” CFDs Managing Director, Dedy Permadi, said here on Tuesday. The administration of the Tangerang city has been working to reform its public services by leveraging the information technology to maximum extent. As a first step, UGM provides training to the Tangerang city administration personnel for a shift towards smart city development. Smart city is an answer to the challenges in city administration posed by a rapid population growth. “One solution to deal with the growth of population is applying the smart city concept. Experts have projected that over the next 30 years, this transformation into smart cities can help save 30 percent of the energy consumption in the world,” Dedy explained. The Deputy Director of the Regional Capacity Building at the Ministry of Interior, Gensly, informed that Tangerang city was chosen among the smart city pilot project sites in Indonesia as the administration has been optimally applying and improving its public services. “We have selected seven cities and three districts to implement the smart city project, and Tangerang is one of them,” he noted. Two Rafflesia gadutensis bloom in N. Bengkulu
BENGKULU - Two Rafflesia gadutensis have bloomed in two different locations in North Bengkulu District, about 70 kilometers from the Bengkulu city, Bengkulu Province. “One of them has bloomed in the residential area of Kuro Tidur village, while the other has bloomed in Boven Lais protected forest area,” said Septian Riki from Rare Flower Care Community (KPPL) of North Bengkulu, on Tuesday. He said that the one which bloomed in Boven Lais on Monday (Oct 31) was around 58 centimeters, with roots hanging from the host plant, Liana sp.
After a visit to the location of the rare flowers, the members of KPPL of North Bengkulu said that the flowers were found hanging on the roots of the host plant, which is a rare position. “Parasitic Rafflesia usually blooms in the roots that emerge from the soil but can also be attached to the roots that hang,” he explained. It would take about 45 minutes from Argamakmur city by motorcycle to view the rare flower in Kuro Tidur village. The flowers would be seen within 3.28 kilometers from Post Pokdarwis in Lais Air Dam 4. The other Rafflesia gadutensis in
Boven Lais Protected Forest area is just 10 minutes away from Argamakmur city, North Bengkulu. “We estimate the flower to bloom in the next three days,” he said. Visitors who wish to enjoy the uniqueness of the rare flower, which has a smaller diameter than Rafflesia arnoldii, can visit the Boven Lais, where the Palak Siring waterfall is also located. Besides Rafflesia gadutensis, there are three other rafflesia species endemic to the rainforest of Bengkulu, namely Rafflesia arnoldii, Rafflesia hasselti and Rafflesia bengkuluensis. (ant)

Renovations at Candikusuma hampered by abadoned building
NEGARA - Renovations to the rest area at Candikusuma village in Melaya, is not runnign smoothly because of an old building that stands adjacent to the locations of the rest area.
Apparently, the building cannot be dismantled because it does not part of the district government’s asset. However this abandoned building that was formerly used as a monitoring post contrasts severly with the new buildings around it. The rest area located on the cliff overlooks the ocean with a view of the sunset. The abandoned building is severly damaged and roofless and has become completely overgrown. Next to it there is also a tower that was used to monitor attempts at smuggling cattle along the beach. The whole thing gives the impression of haunted grounds – not very conducive to enjoying the sunset. Head of the Jembrana Education and Culture Agency, I Nengah Alit, told reporters on Tuesday (Nov. 1) that the gradual arrangement of the Candikusuma tourist area is still being hampered by an the old derelict building and added that to his knowledge this buidling and the land on which it stands are part of the assets of the provincial government. Therefore , in order to facilitate the development of the tourist area, coordination will be made with the provicial government regarding land utilization. The plan is to create a stage next to the new rest area for art performances that can support tourism in the area and add to the general beauty of the scenery. GIANYAR - Dozens of suspected of sand stone miners have been arrested by police but illegal mining done by hand or using sandstone cutting machines remains rampant. Severly rivers in Ginayar, including the watershed located in the norder of Sukawati and Kemenuh village are also being targeted by such criminals. As seen on Tuesday (Nov. 1) morning, dozens of sand stone miners were heading to the nearby stream. Most of them were elderly and using hoes and other traditional tools for cutting into the stone. “We are not using sandstone cutting machines, we only use traditional tools”, said one miner who asked to remain anonymous The most prevalent illegal mining of sandstone in the district of
Gianyar is takng place at the Petanu River watershed. All along the streams of the river, the cliffs hae severe pockmarks from the use of cutting machines. To make things worse, much of the stone debris from the cutting is dumped into the river causing contamination. The saem type of thing is happening at the watershed of the Wos river in Ubud and at several other streams in the area. Chief of Gianyar Police Criminal Investigation Unit IV, A.A Gde Alit Sudarma, said that he still encounters some illegal sandstine mining activities. “The illegal minners play hide and seek with us. AMLAPURA - Due to poor care, a total of 16 deer in the cage at Pursana ecotourism, Nawakerthi village, Abang, are now in apprehensive condition. In addition to be skinny, fur of the deer also falls out. This is based on observation a few days ago at the ecotourism formerly greened with the Vice President Umar Wirahadikusumah in 1984. All this time, treatment of the dear is assigned to the Wanasari farmer group of local village by the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) Bali and the Karangasem Forest and Plantation Agency. Currently, since no budget is disbursed by the Karangasem Forestry Agency, three of 21 members of the group are only paying devotional work or ngayah. Every day the farmer group is assigned to look for fodder in the forest. However, since farmers are also busy with their daily work, respectively raising cattle and getting trouble in finding fodder for their cattle during this dry season, the deer finally just get sober fodder, while drinking water is also difficult. It happens because the cistern built near cowshed has long dried out. Thus, the deer is miserable, difficult to get fodder, and the drinking water is dry. Two buildings formerly taken advantage for meeting or discussion by local farmer group have been destroyed and the roof tiles fell down. A local farmer group member, Wayan Jati, said that other than limited food and drinking water, the fur of skinny deer has also fallen out due to lack of maintenance. There are no drugs and farmers do not understand what drug to be given in order to
prevent them from falling out, like a mangy. “In the past, there were officers or veterinarians coming and giving counseling to farmers, but now they rarely come. More sadly, they never come. The officers will only come if we make a report,” said Jati. The deer were brought in by the government of Bali Province in 2008. As planned, the deer population will be made into one of the tourist attractions in the eastern foot of Mount Agung, next to the Tanah Aron memorial monument. Originally, ten deer were imported. They have proliferated into 16 heads. Actually, the deer population growth is said to fairly slow. In addition to living miserably and looking skinny due to lack of maintenance, some heads already died. Actually, the ecotourism denoting a part of the forest in the national greening week 1984 inaugurated by Vice President Umar Wirahadikusumah landing at the scene by helicopter from Jakarta was interesting enough for foreign travelers. However, the animals live miserably due to poor management and without arrangement. The old damaged highway has been repaired so that it looks smooth. This ecotourism cannot develop well and has no management because there is information stating if a particular party will sue and claim the land as their inheritance rights. The government of Karangasem waits for the formal sues, but until now there is no development. On that account, the land ownership of the ecotourism is suspended. (013)

in the region. Najib also wrote that disputes in the South China Sea should be resolved through dialogue in accordance with rule of law. China claims most of the energy-rich waters through which about $5 trillion in ship-borne trade passes every year. Neighbours Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam also have claims. “When it comes to the South China Sea, we firmly believe that overlapping territorial and maritime disputes should be managed calmly and rationally through dialogue, in accordance with the rule of law and peaceful negotiations,” he said. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin said on Tuesday that Malaysia had pledged with Beijing to handle South China Sea disputes bilaterally. SEOUL - The scandal engulfing South Korean President Park Geunhye has plunged her conservative Saenuri Party into turmoil and cast the country’s political landscape into disarray as it heads into an election year. Park’s approval rating has been dragged to an all-time low of just 17.5 percent in a Realmeter poll as prosecutors investigate whether an old acquaintance exerted inappropriate influence over state affairs and gained personally from their friendship. The opposition has been moving carefully since the crisis involving Park’s friend Choi Soon-sil erupted, refraining from demanding the president step down or raising the idea of impeachment. If Park gives up her position, the law requires that an election be held in 60 days. Analysts say the opposition is unprepared to take on the ruling party in such a high stakes contest so soon. The winner
of such an election would be entitled to serve a full five-year term. The presidential election is due in December 2017. “If Park steps down, this will drive everyone mad as they have been preparing with a full year to campaign in mind,” said Kim Man-heum, head of the Korea Academy of Politics and Leadership.

India says it is committed to global tobaccocontrol treaty
NEW DELHI - India reaffirmed on Tuesday its commitment to a World Health Organization (WHO) tobacco-control treaty, despite lobbying from its $11 billion industry that opposes some measures in the treaty that will be discussed at a conference next week. Delegates from about 180 countries will attend the Nov. 7-12 conference near New Delhi on the only global anti-tobacco treaty, called the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). The treaty aims to deter tobacco use that kills about 6 million people a year, including about a million in India. Reuters reported last week that tobacco industry groups were lobbying the government with letters and signature campaigns to safeguard the interest of farmers and to ensure that no “unreasonable” proposals are adopted at the conference. The Tobacco Institute of India (TII), the cigarette industry body, said in Sept. 28 letter to the government that “there is no obligation
on any signatory to the FCTC” to comply with its provisions. The government response to those letters has not been made public but on Tuesday, the health ministry published half-page notices in several newspapers to say India would apply the treaty’s provisions. “India reiterates its commitment to the full implementation of WHO FCTC,” the ministry said in the notice, that included a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government said in the notice that tobacco “drains the economy” of nearly $16 billion a year. The TII, which represents cigarette makers including ITC, part-owned by British American Tobacco, and Philip Morris Interna-
tional’s local partner, Godfrey Phillips, declined to comment about the government notice. Last week, tobacco farmers protested outside the health ministry and the WHO regional office in New Delhi asking the government to boycott the conference. More than 100,000 farmers also sent the government a petition seeking protection from FCTC rules. Tobacco groups want India to include farmers in its official delegation. A health ministry official said last week the government would not agree to their requests. The tobacco industry has been at odds with the federal government this year over a rule requiring makers to print bigger health warnings on packages. The WHO FCTC conference decisions, designed for implementation at national level by signatories, have a direct bearing on the nearly $800 billion global tobacco industry. (rtr)

Adults who bike regularly, whether for fun or for transportation, may have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease than people who don’t spend much time cycling, two recent studies suggest.
Biking for work or play may stave off heart disease ODENSE - Adults who bike regularly, whether for fun or for transportation, may have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease than people who don’t spend much time cycling, two recent studies suggest. While plenty of previous research has documented the health benefits of biking as part of a regular workout routine, the current studies offer fresh evidence that cycling for commutes or leisure may also be good for the heart. “Many people think that being physically active means doing regular structured exercise, which can be a huge barrier to an active lifestyle,” said Anders Grontved, senior author of one of the studies. “Our study shows that biking either for recreation or as a way to commute is also great for heart health,” Grontved, a researcher at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, said by email. For this study, Grontved and colleagues analyzed data on more than 45,000 Danish adults who biked regularly for commuting or recreation. Over 20 years of follow up, bikers had 11 percent to 18 percent fewer heart attacks than people who didn’t do any cycling, researchers report in the journal Circulation. Overall, participants had 2,892 heart attacks during the study. Researchers estimate that more than 7 percent of all heart attacks could have been averted by taking up cycling and keeping it up on a regular basis. Biking as little as an hour a week provided some protection against coronary artery disease, the
study also found. And the results also suggest it’s never too late to start. Among adults who didn’t bike at the start of the study, those who took up cycling within the first five years had about a 25 percent lower risk of developing heart disease than the people who remained non-bikers. This study is observational, and can’t prove that commuting by bike or cycling for fun actually prevents heart attacks, the authors note. A second study in the Journal of the American Heart Association study also linked bicycle commutes to several factors that can influence heart health including lower odds of obesity, high cholesterol or elevated blood pressure. For that study, researchers followed more than 20,000 Swedish adults over 10 years. At the start of the study, the average age was about 43 and people who biked to work were 15 percent less likely to be obese, 13 percent less likely have high blood pressure and 15 percent less likely to have high cholesterol than those who used public transportation or drove to work. By the end of the study, people who switched from sedentary commutes to biking commutes were also less likely to be obese, have diabetes, hypertension or high cholesterol than the ones who remained non-bikers. At the end, people who biked had a 39 percent lower risk of obesity overall, 11 percent lower risk of high blood pressure, 20 percent lower risk of high cholesterol and 18 percent lower diabetes risk. increase is perhaps due to the rain that started in October: “maybe, it is because of the rainy season, but it cold be cuased by many other factors too. Melinda siad that she purchased large chilies for IDR 50,000 last week and that prices have been hovering aroudn IDR 30,000 to IDR 50,000 per kilo for the past few weeks.
Her profits have necessarily gone down, as she cannot change he price of the food in her restaurant though she still uses the same amount of chillies. “Thus, the portion of chili is not reduced, but our profits are reduced” she said. The price of spices like chilli and onions tend to fluctuate every year and Melinda said tat that she has padi even more than IDR 50,000 per kg of chillies in the past. (may)

TABANAN — To follow up on the case of a toddler at Batungsel Kelod, Batungsel, Pupuan, having contracted Japanese encephalitis (JE) disease, a team from the Bali Veterinary Agency has taken samples from eight pigs raised by local residents to be analysed but the lab results have yet to be issued. The Tabanan Livestock Agency considers it quite important to get the lab results in order to determine subsequent measures handling the prescence of the JE virus. Head of the Tabanan Livestock Agency, Wayan Kotio, said on
Tuesday (Nov. 1) that his agency has not received the lab results from the veterinary agency. He has instructed Division Head of Animal Health to coordinate with the veterinary agency. Once they have the lab results, Kotio said that they can determine the best course of action. He added that they are still hoping that the lab results for the samples taken from the pigs will not indicate the prescnece of Japanese encephalitis. “If the result show that these pigs do have JE, we will immediately provide JE vaccinations to the pigs of local residents. Now, we are
still waiting”, he said. As reported earlier, a 1 and a half year old todddler from Btungsel Kelod, named Putu Yuliantara was diagnosed with Japanese encephalitis and although the toddler is no longer being hospitilized, he is still recovering and is undergoing physiotherapy to helop restore his limp legs. Chief of Tabanan Health Agency, Nyoman Suratmika, not long ago explained that JE is found in pigs and is trasmited through the culex mosquito that commonly lives in o=both highlads and lowlands. Also, Benoa Bay would no longer serve as an estuary and the tidal waters would no longer flush out the bay, so the water in the bay would become freshwater. Mangroves in the area would certainly die as they need saltwater to survive”, he explained. Analysis of the socio-economic and cultural impacts therefor also need to be presented in comprehensive detail. “Analysis of the socio-economic and cultural impact is very important. If even before the reclamation plan has started, people have already hit the roof, and horizontal conflicts amongst members of the public have already resulted in friction, well... it is advisable to stop the project while it is still in the planning stages”, he said.
Widodo added that Benoa Bay is very vulnerable to tsunami. The population living near Benao Bay are at extreme risk of exposure due to the refraction of the tsunami waves (trapped waves) that cause tsunami wave amplification. This is why it is not recommended to create new islands in Benoa Bay, especially islands inteneded for oc-
cupancy – it is not appropriate. “Deliberately making small islands meant to shelter people here is tantamount to killing these people and is very dangerous” he explained. Depp, 53, one of Hollywood’s top actors and box office draws, will co-star in the 2018 sequel to “Fantastic Beasts,” due out in theaters on Nov. 18, Deadline.com, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety said, citing unnamed sources. The reports also said Depp will make a cameo in the first film, but did not reveal what part he will play. Time Warner Inc-owned Warner Bros studios did not formally announce Depp’s casting, and a representative for the studio did not immediately return requests for comment. Little is known about the plot of “Fantastic Beasts,” which stars Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne with a screenplay by Rowling, featuring new characters, story and set in New York in 1926, long preceding the “Harry Potter” books and films, which were set in England in the 1990s. Rowling revealed earlier this month that “Fantastic Beasts” will be the first of five new movies set in her wizarding world. The new franchise will trace the rise of a powerful wizard named Gellert Grindelwald and his eventual 1945 duel with Albus Dumbledore, the popular wizard headmaster from the Potter stories. Rowling’s seven-book “Harry Potter” series sold more than 450 million copies worldwide, and the film franchise, which ended in 2011 with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” took in more than $7 billion at the global box office. DENPASAR - The Benoa Bay reclamation plan must be stopped before it is too late. The plan has already caused great discord and hor- izontal conflicts that could lead to even more severe friction. Additionally the claim that the reclamation will help to clean up garbage and help the sedimentation problem in Benoa Bay is ill-founded as reclamation is not an appropriate solution to these problems. Conversely, the reclamation plan could trigger more severe sedimentation in the bay and make it impossible for Benoa Harbour to funtion. “If the water is dirty, the bay should not be reclaimed, rather the source of pollution needs to be
addressed. Reclamation will cause the water in the bay to be reduced and the pollution will remain at the sames level but become even more concentrated –the water will be dirtier. The bay should not be reclaimed instead, the source of pollutants must be controlled”, said Chairman of the Coastal Engineering Research Group from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Muslim Muin Ph.D., during his presentation at an Anti-corruption Journalist Workshop in Denpasar, on Tuesday (Nov.1).
