Denpasar – The development of Ngurah Rai International Airport to accommodate the increasing number of tourists come to Bali is predicted to be overload again in 2017. This is because the number of tourists coming through the international airport is increasing greatly every year.

This was stated by the General Director of Air Transport Department, Herry Bakti, on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. The growth of visitors in Ngurah Rai Airport reaches 15% through 20% a year while currently the number of tourists visited Bali is 12 million people

Aside from contaminating the irrigation canal, the waste from slaughterhouse (RPH) also interferes with residents in two nearby hamlets, namely the Saih and Gunung hamlet of Peguyangan Kaja village. MANCHESTER, England - Manchester City closed in on their first top flight title in 44 years by beating Manchester United 1-0 on Monday after doing what their rivals have done for years - keeping their nerve when all seemed lost. Three Taiwanese legislators and several top military officers flew to the disputed Spratly islands Monday to renew their territorial claim amid mounting tensions in the South China Sea. The three legislators -- all sitting on the parliament’s defence committee -- landed on Taiping Island, the biggest in the contested waters, on an air force C-130 transport plane. Taiwan built a 1,150-metre (3,795foot) runway on the fortified island in mid-2006, despite protests from the other countries with claims on the disputed island group. The parliamentarians were briefed

by officers on defence measures for repelling intruders. “The visit was aimed at reiterating Taiwan’s territorial claim over the Spratlys,” legislator Lin Yu-fang told reporters after the trip. The move came with tensions in the South China Sea running high, with China and the Philippines locked in a maritime dispute over the Scarborough Shoal. The tensions began when Chinese maritime vessels blocked the Philippine navy from arresting the crews of eight fishing vessels which had entered the area. Taiwan, Vietnam, Brunei, China, Malaysia, and the Philippines claim all or part of the potentially oil-rich Spratlys.

“These little islands in the middle of the ocean can counteract global trends and have a big impact on their own future, which I think is a beautiful concept,” said study researcher Kristopher Karnauskas, a Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution scientist, in a press release issued by the institution. Zookeepers have decided to artificially inseminate female giant panda Mei Xiang, at the Washington, D.C., zoo today (April 30), and live tweet the proceedings. It’s the second try, after a first insemination Sunday. “One of our repro experts, Dr. Aiken-Palmer holds the next vial of 100,000 million sperm. ‘It only takes one!’” tweeted Dave Wildt, National Zoo reproductive scientist and head of the Center for Species Survival. The scientists are trying this technological intervention after a natural attempt fell flat. “Veterinarians performed an artificial insemination Sunday night after they determined no competent natural breeding had occurred between Mei Xiang and male giant panda, Tian Tian (tee-YEN tee-YEN),” zoo officials wrote in a statement. The two pandas have successfully bred before — Mei Xiang gave birth to cub Tai Shan in 2005 — but they aren’t so good at getting it on themselves (Tai

Shan was conceived via artificial insemination). Furthermore, female pandas are fertile only one to two days a year, so zookeepers had to seize the rare opportunity. Giant pandas, native to southeastern China, northern Myanmar, and northern Vietnam, are now endangered; only 1,600 pandas are left in the wild. Captive breeding is a chief part of scientists’ efforts to study and conserve the species. Plus, baby pandas are heartmeltingly cute, and present a big draw for any zoo. The National Zoo had to send Tai Shan back to China in 2010, because all pandas, regardless of where they are born, officially belong to China under international law. Mei Xiang and Tian Tian are on loan to the United States until 2015. “Mei Xiang is 13 and the mother of Tai Shan, who was born in 2005 and beloved in DC. of Sciences examined New York City pregnant mothers who were tested for exposure to chlorpyrifos, or CPF, which is widely used for pest control in farms and public spaces. The women in the study, which included 369 subjects total, took part prior to 2001 when CPF was banned from household use in the United States, though the chemical continues to be used worldwide in agriculture. Researchers compared 20 children -- age five to 11 -- whose mothers tested highest for levels of CPF and found “significant abnormalities” in brain structure compared to 20 children whose mothers showed lower exposures.

However, all the women in the study were exposed at routine levels below the US established thresholds for acute exposure, indicating that even low to moderate exposure could pose hefty risks to a child’s brain development. “The present study provides evidence that the prenatal period is a vulnerable time for the developing child,” said lead author, Virginia Rauh, professor at the Mailman School of Public Health and Deputy Director of the Columbia Center for Children’s Environmental Health. “Toxic exposure during this critical period can have farreaching effects on brain development and behavioral functioning.”

When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion. The celebration is very colorful. The shrine are dressed with pieces of cloths and sometimes with brocade, sailings, decorations of carved wood and sometimes painted with gold and Chinese coins, very beautifully arranged, are hung in the four corners of the shrine. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines. In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbulumbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land. Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Every visitor admires the grace with which the carry their load on their heads.

MADRID - Spain has toppled back into recession, official data confirmed Monday, but the government warned there was no alternative to austerity to build future growth. Spain’s gross domestic product shrank by 0.3 percent in the first quarter of 2012, equalling the slump in the final quarter of 2011, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Institute. The recession returned barely two years after Spain emerged gingerly from the last downturn. Despite growing opposition to cuts during a recession with 24.4percent unemployment in the first quarter, Economy Minister Luis de Guindos said fiscal restraint was more essential than ever. “The Spanish government does not see any incompatability between austerity and economic growth,” he told a news conference in Santiago de Compostela after talks with his German counterpart Wolfgang Schaeuble. “Budget discipline is unavoidable if we want to build solid foundations and sufficient financing for economic growth in our country -- it is a necessary condition,” he said. The move comes just six months before the world’s largest software maker is due to launch its new touch-enabled Windows 8 operating system, and the inclusion of a Nook app on Windows tablets should allow them to compete with Apple’s iPad and Amazon’s Kindle Fire. The victims also including four children and a baby, police said, with survivors forced to smash locked windows to escape the blaze. “Thirteen of the 45 passengers died, trapped on the bus after a fire broke out. The driver wasn’t able to extinguish the fire and it began to spread,” West Sumatra police spokesman Mainar Sugianto told AFP. “The fire broke out in the front of the bus and no one could get out from the back door because it was blocked with boxes and bags of goods,” Fikri, a survivor, told Elshinta radio. “The windows were also locked, so we had to smash them to get out,” he said. Sugianto said among the 13 victims were four children and a baby, and another four people were being treated for burns and injuries. The driver was fine, he said. The bus left the town of Dumai at around 8:00 pm (1300 GMT) Monday night and the fire broke out at 4:30 am in the town of Limapuluh, police said. It was bound for the mountainous town of Bukittinggi. Various handicrafts or household crafts begin to show off their pace in Klungkung Regency. One of them is the weaving business of endek clothes. One of the handicraftsmen is Wayan Suartika, the owner of ‘Ardini’ endek clothes handicraft at Jabon, Sampalan Tengah, Dawan Subdistrict.
