Shakira ordered to appear in Spanish court over £12m tax evasion charges BARCELONA - Colombian pop star Shakira has been ordered to appear in a Spanish court for allegedly evading tax in the country, despite her official residence being in Panama. Prosecutors charged the singer in December with evading €14.5m (£12.5m) of tax between 2012 and 2014, as well as alleging that she hid her income through 14 companies based in tax havens. She has now been summoned to a Barcelona court on 12 June to give evidence, according to newly published court papers. The singer denies all the accusations and her Spanish representatives say she has settled all her debts with tax authorities. They previously claimed she did not live in Spain until 2015.
Shakira, 42, is known for hits such as Whenever, Wherever and Hips Don’t Lie - as well as various charity endeavours, including being recognised by the United Nations. She has appeared at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The Colombian, whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, lives in Barcelona with her husband Gerard Pique, who plays football for Barcelona and Spain, and their children. Her husband’s teammate Lionel Messi was found guilty of tax fraud in 2016 and was fined €250,000 (£215,500) on top of the unpaid tax, plus interest. Last month, another Spain-based football star, Cristiano Ronaldo, accepted a £17m fine and a suspended two-year jail sentence following allegations of tax evasion. (net)

Balinese people will get 6 additional benefits
DENPASAR - Finally, the program of National Health Insurance--Prosperous Balinese People (JKN-KBS) was officially launched at the Wiswasabha Utama of the Governor of Bali’s Office on Wednesday (Feb. 27). The launch of the JKN-KBS program was marked with the siren button pressing by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, accompanied by Regional Secretary of Bali, Dewa Made Indra, and representatives of the regents and mayor. JKN-KBS is regulated in Governor Regulation No.104/2018 concerning National Health In-
surance–Prosperous Balinese People (JKN-KBS). The new policy in the field of health ser-
vices is claimed to have more advantages than health services organized by BPJS Kesehatan based on the Presidential Regulation No. 82/2018 concerning Health Insurance. Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, explained that JKN-KBS in terms of the aspect of participation reached all the Balinese people. The card is immediately active after registration. In addition, newborn babies from the

local premium assistance recipient (PBI) mother are also automatically registered. PBI Regions can be served at health facilities owned by the government / local government and private sector. “From the aspect of contribution, JKN participants who are in arrears of premiums can be registered as participants in the Regional PBI and can immediately access health services,” he said. From the aspect of health services, continued Koster, there are at least six additional benefits obtained by Balinese community but the benefits will only be realized in the Amended Budget 2019. For instance, the participants will get traditional and complementary health services in health facilities such as public health services and hospitals. Emergency patients will obtain free transportation facilities from patient’s residence to the intended health facility. “Complaint handling is carried out online and integrated across Bali through web-based system along with call centers available at health facilities, health agency and BPJS Kesehatan,” he added. Koster continued that the other three additional benefits are getting services of visum et repertum for free, free transportation facilities for bodies from the public health service or hospital to the residence and free hyperbaric (oxygen) therapy services for diver patients, burns, and other patients who need it. “This policy uses a new referral system in the form of the JKN-KBS Integrated Referral System application. Complaint handling is carried out online and integrated on a web-based system available in provincial, district / municipal health facilities through the call center and person in charge,” he explained. According to Koster, the budget
needed to organize this program amounts to IDR 495,671,353,200. His party applies a burden sharing pattern, namely the provincial government must cover as much as “IDR 170,468,649,798 while the district/municipal must pay IDR 325,202,703,402. The budget allocation is prepared in the Regional Budget 2019. The JKNKBS program reaches 4,192.457 Balinese people from the total population of Bali, amounting to 4,245,108 people or has reached a minimum target of 95 percent of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC). In 2020, the UHC is targeted to reach 100 percent, in the sense that all the Balinese people have been covered by health insurance. “All parties that become health service providers should implement the governor regulation as well as possible, as straight as possible manner, in disciplined and responsible manner and sincerely,” he pleaded. Koster added they must also dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to Balinese people. In this case is providing the best health services by carrying out their respective duties and responsibilities in accordance with the authority of the institution. All health care providers namely the government, local government and private sector are reminded not to differentiate or discriminate services among patients. In addition to perfecting the health insurance system, this Chairperson of the PDI-P Bali also stressed his commitment to strengthening the function of the public health center as the main pillar of health services for the community. American tourist found floating on the beach
DENPASAR - Visitors to Nusa Dua Beach, precisely behind the Grand Hyatt Bali, South Kuta, were shocked by the finding of floating tourist on Wednesday (Feb. 27). The tourist is on behalf of Bucciarllei Arnold J, 76 from the United States. Allegedly, he sank while swimming and was declared dead by the medical team at the BIMC
Hospital. As the information compiled in the field, while in Bali the victim was staying at Hotel Vidi Taman Griya, Jimbaran. Based on the victim’s guide, Edi Santoso, 34, at 14:30, he and the victim headed for the crime scene. Around 15:00, they arrived on the beach and the victim immediately swam there.
Fifteen minutes later, suddenly Edi from Bondowoso, East Java, heard a visitor shouting that a floating tourist was found on the beach. Edi immediately ran to the location and it turned out that the tourist was the victim. Edi asked for help to beach visitors in order to evacuate the victim to the beach. In addition, he
also asked the residents to call an ambulance of the BIMC Hospital. Five minutes later the ambulance of the BIMC Hospital arrived at the location and the victim was immediately transported to the hospital. Upon arrival at the BIMC Hospital, the medical team provided first assistance to the victims.
Unfortunately, the victim’s heart showed no pulse and was declared to have been dead. Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit at the South Kuta Police, Muh Nurul Yaqin, when asked for his confirmation justified the incident. “This incident is being handled by the Denpasar Water Police,” he affirmed. “Thierry Mugler: Couturissime” brings together dozens of objects from the couturier’s career: outfits, costumes but also sketches, photographs and videos tracing his success from 1977 to 2014. SEMARAPURA — Seaweed farmers of Nusa Penida have heard the results of the academic study on seaweed cultivation in Wantilan Hall of Ped Temple, Nusa Penida, on Tuesday (Feb. 26). Majority of the seaweed farmers are willing to return to get involved in seaweed cultivation so as to revive one of the sectors having reached its heyday and the icon of Klungkung. Regional government stated it is ready to facilitate the needs of farmers, provided that farmers themselves are committed to pursuing the sector again, so that it is in line with the rapid development of local tourism.

Teddy Girls make comeback in Dior’s rebel Paris show
PARIS - Dior went back to the feisty Teddy Girls of 1950s Britain for its vision of a feminist future in its Paris fashion week show Tuesday. With black leather jackets, long nipped-waist Dior “New Look” skirts with leather cumberbunds and tartan a-go-go, designer Maria Grazia Chiuri raided the wardrobes of the rebel girls of the early days of rock ‘n’ roll. The original royal rebel Princess Margaret -- a Dior addict -- and the proudly proletarian Teddy Girls who were the “queens of the ravaged landscape” of postwar Britain were the two pillars of the Italian creator’s autumn winter collection. She took some of the most feminine clothes of the epoch -- kitten heels with black socks, shiny bucket hats and tight woollen sweaters -- and mixed them with a more masculine and sportswear silhouette. Chiuri has been on something of a crusade during her time at the most feminine of French labels to make its famously chic clothes simple and adaptable enough for everyday wear. And you could easily imagine women wearing trainers under even the most intricate of dresses in this collection. The Teddy Girls were the punks of their time, “impertinent characters with wild quiffs who wore Edwardian-style men’s jackets with ample skirts, jeans and black leather jackets,” the designer said.

have been tested in three different locations, namely Suana, Batununggul and Lembongan villages have been successful. The interest of farmer groups to re-cultivate seaweed is also high reaching 90 percent. After getting the results of the study, Regent Suwirta returned to ask for the commitment of farmer groups to seriously promoting seaweed cultivation. Farmer groups from Ped and Batu Nunggul village also confirmed their readiness. “Tourism is a very lucrative sector. But this sector is very sensitive and can suddenly be dropped by a variety of factors. DENPASAR - Bali Mandara Hospital (RSBM) located on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai, Sanur, has declared itself a mother and child hospital on Tuesday (Feb. 26). This initiative is in accordance with the law and government regulations that hospitals must support government programs in reducing maternal and child mortality (AKI and AKA). Director of RSBM, Bagus Darmayasa, stated that RSBM launched the Mother and Child Hospital (GRSIA) Movement because hospital institution has the obligation to support government programs based on the Law. “After established last year, we have been doing it this year,” he said. He wanted to take quick measure for the hospital development, including accelerating the declaration of GRSIA. In addition, the RSBM will go to world-class hospital in 2025. “This means that we must comply with international accreditation, JCI,” he said. RSBM has readiness of equipment and facilities for maternal and child care including, maternity emergency room, PICU and NICU room as well as a medical team concerned with handling mothers and children. So, it is Emergency Room for the general public and pregnant women,” he said. TIJUANA - President Donald Trump’s border wall with Mexico has yet to be built and, on Wednesday, US authorities began demolishing the prototypes constructed for it in California 16 months ago. The eight models of concrete and steel were unveiled in October 2017, at a cost of more than $300,000 each, on the edge of San Diego at the border with Tijuana, Mexico. Trump himself inspected the 30-feet (nine-meter) full-scale models erected side-by-side when he visited California in March last year and pushed his signature campaign promise of a wall along the Mexican border. He says the barrier is needed to
keep out illegal immigrants, criminal gangs and drug traffickers. The prototypes were built for testing and evaluation, which has now been completed, a Customs and Border Protection official said. “They have served their purpose and are now being removed” while a new “secondary bollard wall” will go up in the same location, the official said. “Removing the prototypes would be less expensive than integrating the prototypes into the new Secondary Border Wall.” Construction workers used machinery to knock down seven of the prototypes but were unable to topple the last one.
“They woke us up early when they were drilling,” said a Tijuana resident who lives a few meters from the border, where the prototypes had become an attraction for tourists in Tijuana. Unable to obtain all the congressional funding he seeks for his wall, Trump declared a “national emergency” that would enable him to find billions of dollars from other sources, in particular the Pentagon budget for military construction. Tokyo stocks close lower on reduced US-China trade hopes
Tokyo stocks fell Thursday as the US chief trade negotiator poured cold water on market optimism over US-China trade negotiations, while investors were also watching the US-North Korea summit. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.79 percent, or 171.35 points, to close at 21,385.16, while the broader Topix index was down 0.79 percent, or 12.76 points, at 1,607.66.
US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said on Wednesday there remained much to do before reaching a new trade agreement with China, even as both sides signal their talks are nearing the finish line. After months of negotiating with Beijing, “now we are making real progress”, Lighthizer told Congress. However, “much still needs to be done
both before an agreement is reached and more importantly after it is reached if one is reached.” Lighthizer’s remarks to a House committee underscored the remaining hurdles facing negotiators despite the apparent eagerness on both sides to bring their trade war to an end. The comments sent US shares mostly lower, and “poured cold water on the opti-
mistic atmosphere in markets”, Yoshihiro Ito, Okasan Online Securities chief strategist, said in a note. However, a relatively cheaper yen against the dollar was supporting the downside of the Japanese market, he added. 5G presents security challenge for telecom operators
While Washington’s concerns that future 5G wireless networks could be vulnerable to spying by China have dominated headlines, businesses have long been pushing to make sure the technology is as secure as possible.
With fifth-generation wireless networks, or 5G, starting to be rolled out this year, the issue of 5G security was in focus at the Mobile World Congress trade fair which got under way Monday in Barcelona. Unlike upgrades of wireless networks in the past, 5G will deliver not just faster phone and computer data but also help connect up cars, appliances, cargo and crop equipment. Washington has warned that allowing Chinese firms like Huawei to provide the equipment to build 5G networks could leave them vulnerable to spying on the part of China but this is only one of the risks. 5G’s much faster speeds, vast data capacity and lower latency -- or response time -- are expected to underpin entirely new technologies such as self-driving cars and telemedicine -- which in turn may attract cyberintrusions by criminals or terrorists. “There will be more data which will be transferred...it is clear that security is much more complicated,” said Yannick Sadowy, the director for telecoms and media at consulting firm Accenture. Mathieu Lagrange, who is responsible for internet security at <b>com institute, said the risks to 5G’s security “were taken into account” when the norms for the technology were established. But a study by the University of Lorraine in France found that the new wireless network still contains some security holes which were already present in previous networks, 3G and 4G. 5G offers “improved data protection when compared to the previous wireless norms” but “flaws persist and the weaknesses that have been identified” could allow “several cyberattacks and have an impact on the protection of privacy,” it said. Trump ‘walks’ as North Korea talks end abruptly without deal
HANOI - The US-North Korea nuclear summit in Hanoi ended abruptly without a deal Thursday, with President Donald Trump saying he had decided to “walk” in the face of Kim Jong Un’s demands to drop sanctions. The much-anticipated second meeting between the two leaders was supposed to build on their historic first summit in Singapore, but they failed to sign a joint statement as initially scheduled and the talks ended in deadlock. “Sometimes you have to walk and this was just one of those times,” an unusually downbeat Trump told reporters. “Basically they wanted the sanctions lifted in their entirety and we couldn’t do that,” said. But Trump insisted he was “optimistic that the progress we made” before and during the summit left them “in position to have a really good outcome” in the future. “I’d much rather do it right than do it fast,” he added. He noted Kim had vowed not to resume nuclear or ballistic missile testing -- something he previously identified as a yardstick for success -- but said a third summit with the Pyongyang strongman was not on the cards so far, despite reiterating their “close relationship”. “We just like each other... there’s a warmth that we have and I hope that stays, I think it will,” said Trump. - ‘Major failure’ -

BADUNG - Sadha Kapal Temple is famous for its detailed and beautiful decorative carving. Dating from Majapahit period, it originally was an old dynasty sanctuary (prasada) of Ratu Jayengrat, a noble, who sailed from Majapahit and stranded on the coral reef at Kapal Village. Sadha Kapal was destructive by earthquake in 1917 and has not been restored until 1950. The split gate and a 16meter high tower inside the temple are constructed much like ‘candi’ (temple) in Java. The 64 stone seats, similar to megalithic shrines, memorialize warriors who died in battle. Located in Kapal and dedicated to the ‘Divine World Conqueror,’ Ratu Sakti Jayengrat, this ornately carved temple dates back to the Majapahit period when the area was the sanctuary of Mengwi royalty. Pura Sada is the oldest of the Mengwi state shrines and predates Pura Taman Ayun. The split-gate candi bentar of the
temple leads to a main courtyard and then to an inner area where 54 megalithic shrines commemorate the subjects of the King of Mengwi who perished at sea. Pura Sada is dedicated to the spirit of the Hindu Trinity Bhrahma, Vishnu and Shiva. It was built in the 17th century and restored in 1949, after being destroyed by an earthquake in 1917. The temple has 11 tiers and is surrounded by guardian statues. It has a 16 meter high tower, but it is the 64 stone shrines that are the feature of this temple. They are believed to commemorate fallen warriors. The temple complex of Pura Sada Kapal is surrounded by a wall of red bricks constructed in the traditional way without mortar. By rubbing one a stone against the other, a fine powder crumbles from the surface layers. When water is added to it, the stones can simply be stuck together. (IBP/net)

MONTMELO - Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel admitted he had no idea why his Ferrari left the track and crashed into the barriers in Formula One testing on Wednesday. The German’s car was covered up and towed away after the accident which delayed the session by 45 minutes. “We don’t know,” said Vettel when asked why his Ferrari came off the circuit at Turn Three at a speed of around 150mph (241km/h). “There was a problem with the accelerator. Juventus travel to Napoli on Sunday looking to close the book on a Serie A title race that has hardly looked in doubt since the opening day of the season. BADUNG - Sadha Kapal Temple is famous for its detailed and beautiful decorative carving. Dating from Majapahit period, it originally was an old dynasty sanctuary (prasada) of Ratu Jayengrat, a noble, who sailed from Majapahit and stranded on the coral reef at Kapal Village. Sadha Kapal was destructive by earthquake in 1917 and has not been restored until 1950. The split gate and a 16meter high tower inside the temple are constructed much like ‘candi’ (temple) in Java. The 64 stone seats, similar to megalithic shrines, memorialize warriors who died in battle. Located in Kapal and dedicated to the ‘Divine World Conqueror,’ Ratu Sakti Jayengrat, this ornately carved temple dates back to the Majapahit period when the area was the sanctuary of Mengwi royalty. Pura Sada is the oldest of the Mengwi state shrines and predates Pura Taman Ayun. The split-gate candi bentar of the
temple leads to a main courtyard and then to an inner area where 54 megalithic shrines commemorate the subjects of the King of Mengwi who perished at sea. Pura Sada is dedicated to the spirit of the Hindu Trinity Bhrahma, Vishnu and Shiva. It was built in the 17th century and restored in 1949, after being destroyed by an earthquake in 1917. The temple has 11 tiers and is surrounded by guardian statues. It has a 16 meter high tower, but it is the 64 stone shrines that are the feature of this temple. They are believed to commemorate fallen warriors. The temple complex of Pura Sada Kapal is surrounded by a wall of red bricks constructed in the traditional way without mortar. By rubbing one a stone against the other, a fine powder crumbles from the surface layers. When water is added to it, the stones can simply be stuck together. (IBP/net)

Trump ‘walks’ as North Korea talks end abruptly without deal
HANOI - The US-North Korea nuclear summit in Hanoi ended abruptly without a deal Thursday, with President Donald Trump saying he had decided to “walk” in the face of Kim Jong Un’s demands to drop sanctions. The much-anticipated second meeting between the two leaders was supposed to build on their historic first summit in Singapore, but they failed to sign a joint statement as initially scheduled and the talks ended in deadlock. “Sometimes you have to walk and this was just one of those times,” an unusually downbeat Trump told reporters. “Basically they wanted the sanctions lifted in their entirety and we couldn’t do that,” said. But Trump insisted he was “optimistic that the progress we made” before and during the summit left them “in position to have a really good outcome” in the future. “I’d much rather do it right than do it fast,” he added. He noted Kim had vowed not to resume nuclear or ballistic missile testing -- something he previously identified as a yardstick for success -- but said a third summit with the Pyongyang strongman was not on the cards so far, despite reiterating their “close relationship”. “We just like each other... there’s a warmth that we have and I hope that stays, I think it will,” said Trump. - ‘Major failure’ -

In the original White House programme, a “Joint Agreement Signing Ceremony” had been scheduled in Hanoi as well as a working lunch for the two leaders. But Harry Kazianis, Director of Korean Studies at the Centre for the National Interest, said that no agreement was better than a bad one. There would be “nothing worse than signing a deal just to get something”, he told AFP. “The challenge is North Korea’s nuclear weapons are already a reality,” he added. “Getting a deal that does little to nothing to remove that threat would be far worse than a flawed deal.” (afp)

Their school, the CED 07 educational center on the outskirts of Brasilia, is one of four public schools -- 7,000 students in all -- that are being transformed into military-run schools. President Jair Bolsonaro, a former paratrooper, promised to establish more of these state-run military secondary schools during his election campaign last year. By the end of the year, there should be around 40 of the new military schools, a spokesman for the Federal District’s education secretariat, Mauro Oliveira, told AFP. “We are here to empower the teachers,” Captain Newton Araujo, a military police officer in impeccable blue uniform, says as he watches his subordinates instruct the pupils in the new school regime. “We are here as collaborators, not usurpers,” he said, using distinctly military jargon. The national disaster agency said four people are confirmed dead and an estimated 37 are still buried beneath soil and rocks in an area that is difficult to access because of its remoteness and steep terrain. “The land contour is worrying with an 80 degree slope, so it’s pretty steep, and we don’t want any unwanted things to happen,” said local police chief Gani Fernando Siahaan. “We will continue the rescue process until night as long as weather permits.” Emergency personnel used their bare hands and farm tools to search for the victims. Video showed rescuers struggling to bring out a body bag in nearly vertical terrain. Makeshift wooden structures in the mine in Bolaang Mongondow district collapsed on Tuesday evening due to shifting soil and the large number of mining holes, burying people in the mine pit. “Unstable soil conditions make us extra careful lifting rocks because it can lead to new landslides,” local disaster official Abdul Muin Paputungan said. Rescuers heard voices crying for help from beneath the debris, he said. The disaster agency said at least 140 people from different agencies are involved in the rescue effort. It said there is an urgent need for body bags. Informal mining operations are commonplace in Indonesia, providing a tenuous livelihood to thousands who labor in conditions with a high risk of serious injury or death. Small artisanal and often unauthorized mining is rising in many parts of Asia and Africa. A study by the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development found the number of people engaged in such
mining had risen to over 40 million, up from 30 million in 2014 and 6 million in 1993. Landslides, flooding and collapses of tunnels are just some of

Tokyo stocks close lower on reduced US-China trade hopes
Tokyo stocks fell Thursday as the US chief trade negotiator poured cold water on market optimism over US-China trade negotiations, while investors were also watching the US-North Korea summit. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.79 percent, or 171.35 points, to close at 21,385.16, while the broader Topix index was down 0.79 percent, or 12.76 points, at 1,607.66.
US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said on Wednesday there remained much to do before reaching a new trade agreement with China, even as both sides signal their talks are nearing the finish line. After months of negotiating with Beijing, “now we are making real progress”, Lighthizer told Congress. However, “much still needs to be done
both before an agreement is reached and more importantly after it is reached if one is reached.” Lighthizer’s remarks to a House committee underscored the remaining hurdles facing negotiators despite the apparent eagerness on both sides to bring their trade war to an end. The comments sent US shares mostly lower, and “poured cold water on the opti-
mistic atmosphere in markets”, Yoshihiro Ito, Okasan Online Securities chief strategist, said in a note. However, a relatively cheaper yen against the dollar was supporting the downside of the Japanese market, he added. 5G presents security challenge for telecom operators
While Washington’s concerns that future 5G wireless networks could be vulnerable to spying by China have dominated headlines, businesses have long been pushing to make sure the technology is as secure as possible.
With fifth-generation wireless networks, or 5G, starting to be rolled out this year, the issue of 5G security was in focus at the Mobile World Congress trade fair which got under way Monday in Barcelona. Unlike upgrades of wireless networks in the past, 5G will deliver not just faster phone and computer data but also help connect up cars, appliances, cargo and crop equipment. Washington has warned that allowing Chinese firms like Huawei to provide the equipment to build 5G networks could leave them vulnerable to spying on the part of China but this is only one of the risks. 5G’s much faster speeds, vast data capacity and lower latency -- or response time -- are expected to underpin entirely new technologies such as self-driving cars and telemedicine -- which in turn may attract cyberintrusions by criminals or terrorists. “There will be more data which will be transferred...it is clear that security is much more complicated,” said Yannick Sadowy, the director for telecoms and media at consulting firm Accenture. Mathieu Lagrange, who is responsible for internet security at <b>com institute, said the risks to 5G’s security “were taken into account” when the norms for the technology were established. But a study by the University of Lorraine in France found that the new wireless network still contains some security holes which were already present in previous networks, 3G and 4G. 5G offers “improved data protection when compared to the previous wireless norms” but “flaws persist and the weaknesses that have been identified” could allow “several cyberattacks and have an impact on the protection of privacy,” it said. RSBM declares itself as mother and child hospital
DENPASAR - Bali Mandara Hospital (RSBM) located on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai, Sanur, has declared itself a mother and child hospital on Tuesday (Feb. 26). This initiative is in accordance with the law and government regulations that hospitals must support government programs in reducing maternal and child mortality (AKI and AKA). Director of RSBM, Bagus Darmayasa, stated that RSBM launched the Mother and Child Hospital (GRSIA) Movement because hospital institution has the obligation to support government programs based on the Law. “After established last year, we have been doing it this year,” he said. He wanted to take quick measure for the hospital development, including accelerating the declaration of GRSIA. In addition, the RSBM will go to world-class hospital in 2025. “This means that we must comply with international accreditation, JCI,” he said. RSBM has readiness of equipment and facilities for maternal and child care including, maternity emergency room, PICU and NICU room as well as a medical team concerned with handling mothers and children. TIJUANA - President Donald Trump’s border wall with Mexico has yet to be built and, on Wednesday, US authorities began demolishing the prototypes constructed for it in California 16 months ago. The eight models of concrete and steel were unveiled in October 2017, at a cost of more than $300,000 each, on the edge of San Diego at the border with Tijuana, Mexico. Trump himself inspected the 30-feet (nine-meter) full-scale models erected side-by-side when he visited California in March last year and pushed his signature campaign promise of a wall along the Mexican border. He says the barrier is needed to
keep out illegal immigrants, criminal gangs and drug traffickers. The prototypes were built for testing and evaluation, which has now been completed, a Customs and Border Protection official said. “They have served their purpose and are now being removed” while a new “secondary bollard wall” will go up in the same location, the official said. “Removing the prototypes would be less expensive than integrating the prototypes into the new Secondary Border Wall.” Construction workers used machinery to knock down seven of the prototypes but were unable to topple the last one.
“They woke us up early when they were drilling,” said a Tijuana resident who lives a few meters from the border, where the prototypes had become an attraction for tourists in Tijuana. Unable to obtain all the congressional funding he seeks for his wall, Trump declared a “national emergency” that would enable him to find billions of dollars from other sources, in particular the Pentagon budget for military construction. PARIS - Dior went back to the feisty Teddy Girls of 1950s Britain for its vision of a feminist future in its Paris fashion week show Tuesday. With black leather jackets, long nipped-waist Dior “New Look” skirts with leather cumberbunds and tartan a-go-go, designer Maria Grazia Chiuri raided the wardrobes of the rebel girls of the early days of rock ‘n’ roll. The original royal rebel Princess Margaret -- a Dior addict -- and the proudly proletarian Teddy Girls who were the “queens of the ravaged landscape” of postwar Britain were the two pillars of the Italian creator’s autumn winter collection. She took some of the most feminine clothes of the epoch -- kitten heels with black socks, shiny bucket hats and tight woollen sweaters -- and mixed them with a more masculine and sportswear silhouette. Chiuri has been on something of a crusade during her time at the most feminine of French labels to make its famously chic clothes simple and adaptable enough for everyday wear. The interest of farmer groups to re-cultivate seaweed is also high reaching 90 percent. After getting the results of the study, Regent Suwirta returned to ask for the commitment of farmer groups to seriously promoting seaweed cultivation. Farmer groups from Ped and Batu Nunggul village also confirmed their readiness. “Tourism is a very lucrative sector. But this sector is very sensitive and can suddenly be dropped by a variety of factors. DENPASAR - Finally, the program of National Health Insurance--Prosperous Balinese People (JKN-KBS) was officially launched at the Wiswasabha Utama of the Governor of Bali’s Office on Wednesday (Feb. 27). The launch of the JKN-KBS program was marked with the siren button pressing by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, accompanied by Regional Secretary of Bali, Dewa Made Indra, and representatives of the regents and mayor. JKN-KBS is regulated in Governor Regulation No.104/2018 concerning National Health In-
surance–Prosperous Balinese People (JKN-KBS). The new policy in the field of health ser-
vices is claimed to have more advantages than health services organized by BPJS Kesehatan based on the Presidential Regulation No. 82/2018 concerning Health Insurance. Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, explained that JKN-KBS in terms of the aspect of participation reached all the Balinese people. The card is immediately active after registration. In addition, newborn babies from the

local premium assistance recipient (PBI) mother are also automatically registered. PBI Regions can be served at health facilities owned by the government / local government and private sector. “From the aspect of contribution, JKN participants who are in arrears of premiums can be registered as participants in the Regional PBI and can immediately access health services,” he said. Koster continued that the other three additional benefits are getting services of visum et repertum for free, free transportation facilities for bodies from the public health service or hospital to the residence and free hyperbaric (oxygen) therapy services for diver patients, burns, and other patients who need it. “This policy uses a new referral system in the form of the JKN-KBS Integrated Referral System application. Complaint handling is carried out online and integrated on a web-based system available in provincial, district / municipal health facilities through the call center and person in charge,” he explained. According to Koster, the budget
needed to organize this program amounts to IDR 495,671,353,200. His party applies a burden sharing pattern, namely the provincial government must cover as much as “IDR 170,468,649,798 while the district/municipal must pay IDR 325,202,703,402. The budget allocation is prepared in the Regional Budget 2019. The JKNKBS program reaches 4,192.457 Balinese people from the total population of Bali, amounting to 4,245,108 people or has reached a minimum target of 95 percent of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC). In 2020, the UHC is targeted to reach 100 percent, in the sense that all the Balinese people have been covered by health insurance. “All parties that become health service providers should implement the governor regulation as well as possible, as straight as possible manner, in disciplined and responsible manner and sincerely,” he pleaded. Koster added they must also dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to Balinese people. In this case is providing the best health services by carrying out their respective duties and responsibilities in accordance with the authority of the institution. All health care providers namely the government, local government and private sector are reminded not to differentiate or discriminate services among patients. In addition to perfecting the health insurance system, this Chairperson of the PDI-P Bali also stressed his commitment to strengthening the function of the public health center as the main pillar of health services for the community. American tourist found floating on the beach
DENPASAR - Visitors to Nusa Dua Beach, precisely behind the Grand Hyatt Bali, South Kuta, were shocked by the finding of floating tourist on Wednesday (Feb. 27). The tourist is on behalf of Bucciarllei Arnold J, 76 from the United States. Allegedly, he sank while swimming and was declared dead by the medical team at the BIMC
Hospital. As the information compiled in the field, while in Bali the victim was staying at Hotel Vidi Taman Griya, Jimbaran. Based on the victim’s guide, Edi Santoso, 34, at 14:30, he and the victim headed for the crime scene. Around 15:00, they arrived on the beach and the victim immediately swam there.
Fifteen minutes later, suddenly Edi from Bondowoso, East Java, heard a visitor shouting that a floating tourist was found on the beach. Edi immediately ran to the location and it turned out that the tourist was the victim. Edi asked for help to beach visitors in order to evacuate the victim to the beach. In addition, he
also asked the residents to call an ambulance of the BIMC Hospital. Five minutes later the ambulance of the BIMC Hospital arrived at the location and the victim was immediately transported to the hospital. Upon arrival at the BIMC Hospital, the medical team provided first assistance to the victims.
Unfortunately, the victim’s heart showed no pulse and was declared to have been dead. Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit at the South Kuta Police, Muh Nurul Yaqin, when asked for his confirmation justified the incident. “This incident is being handled by the Denpasar Water Police,” he affirmed. Shakira ordered to appear in Spanish court over £12m tax evasion charges BARCELONA - Colombian pop star Shakira has been ordered to appear in a Spanish court for allegedly evading tax in the country, despite her official residence being in Panama. Prosecutors charged the singer in December with evading €14.5m (£12.5m) of tax between 2012 and 2014, as well as alleging that she hid her income through 14 companies based in tax havens. She has now been summoned to a Barcelona court on 12 June to give evidence, according to newly published court papers. The singer denies all the accusations and her Spanish representatives say she has settled all her debts with tax authorities. They previously claimed she did not live in Spain until 2015.
Shakira, 42, is known for hits such as Whenever, Wherever and Hips Don’t Lie - as well as various charity endeavours, including being recognised by the United Nations. She has appeared at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The Colombian, whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, lives in Barcelona with her husband Gerard Pique, who plays football for Barcelona and Spain, and their children. Her husband’s teammate Lionel Messi was found guilty of tax fraud in 2016 and was fined €250,000 (£215,500) on top of the unpaid tax, plus interest. Last month, another Spain-based football star, Cristiano Ronaldo, accepted a £17m fine and a suspended two-year jail sentence following allegations of tax evasion. (net)

Thousands stranded in Thailand after Pakistan closes airspace
Thousands of travellers were stranded in Bangkok on Thursday when Thai Airways cancelled all flights over Pakistan after Islamabad closed its airspace in response to soaring tensions with India.

The travel disruption spun out across the region, with Singapore Airlines’ usually direct flights to Europe forced to re-fuel on Wednesday, while a flight to Frankfurt was cancelled. The disruption follows a snow-
balling crisis between nucleararmed neighbours Pakistan and India, which has raised fears of an all-out war. Pakistan claimed it shot down two Indian Air Force planes in its airspace, although it later clarified only one Indian pilot had been captured. India said its forces had also shot down a Pakistani fighter jet as Pakistan suddenly closed its airspace.
Thai Airways said nearly 5,000 passengers had been caught up in the drama, as it struggled to find new routes to Europe with Iran “rejecting” a request to travel over its airspace, according to a spokesperson for the carrier. The singer will perform at a new 9,000-capacity outdoor venue at an old railway depot as part of the LGBT+ event, in her first show in the city since her One Love Manchester concert. The charity event, featuring stars including Liam Gallagher and Justin Bieber, was organised less than two weeks after a suicide bomb at her Manchester Arena show killed 22 people in 2017. Grande recently told fans she would be playing a “special show” in Manchester as part of her Sweetener World Tour, but did not announce details.
She revealed last year she had suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder since the attack and did not think she would ever be able to talk about it without crying. She admitted she found her PTSD “hard to talk about” as “so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss”.
