Thomas Adès (1971, London) nemzetközileg elismert zeneszerző, karmester és zongorista, aki a világ vezető zenekaraival, operaházaival és fesztiváljaival dolgozik. Elismert művei közé tartoznak a The Exterminating Angel, The Tempest és a Powder Her Face, valamint jelentős zenekari, kamarazenei és szólózenei kompozíciók. Számos nemzetközi díjat kapott, és rendszeresen fellép előadóként és karmesterként a világ legjelentősebb színpadain. Idén májusban ő lesz a vendégprofesszora a karmesterek és zeneszerzők számára hirdetett mesterkurzusunkon.
Thomas Adès (b. 1971, London) is an internationally renowned composer, conductor, and pianist who works with the world’s leading orchestras, opera houses, and festivals. His acclaimed works include the operas The Exterminating Angel, The Tempest, and Powder Her Face, alongside major orchestral, chamber, and solo compositions. He has received numerous international awards and appears regularly as a performer and conductor on the world’s foremost stages. This May he will be the guest professor of our workshop for conductors and composers.

Beszélgetés Thomas Adès zeneszerzővel, aki bemutatja zenei vízióját és a zeneszerzői munkamódszerét. A közönség élőzenét és a brit zeneszerző néhány felvételét is élvezheti, aki Vajda Gergely személyes meghívására érkezik Budapestre.
Thomas Adès will highlight his musical vision and talk about his composition process. The audience can also enjoy live music and some recordings of the British composer, who is coming to Budapest following the personal invitation of Gregory Vajda.

Thomas Adès egy ötnapos workshop során dolgozik 6 fiatal karmesterrel és 4 zeneszerzővel, Vajda Gergely közreműködésével. A kurzus célja a hallgatók zenei nyelvének és kifejezésmódjának fejlesztése, valamint karmestertechnikájuk finomítása. A koncerten Thomas Adès, Eötvös Péter és Kurtág György művei hangzanak el az Alapítvány állandó partnerével, az UMZE Kamaraegyüttessel, valamint a mesterkurzus kiválasztott fiatal zeneszerzőinek 4 új cimbalomszólóra írt darabja is hallható lesz.
Thomas Adès will work with young conductors and composers during a five-day workshop alongside Gregory Vajda. The course aims to develop the students' musical language and expression, and to refine their conducting technique. Works by Thomas Adès, Péter Eötvös and György Kurtág will be performed with the Foundation’s regular partner, the UMZE Ensemble, as well as 4 new cimbalom solo pieces by the selected young composers of the masterclass.
