HORSEBOX GATE OPENING HOURS SATURDAY 12pm - 6pm (only for competitors with stables booked for Saturday) SUNDAY 6am - 8pm MONDAY 6am - 8pm Only vehicles carrying horses will be permitted in the horsebox parking area. Please therefore ensure all your equipment is within that vehicle. All additional cars must park in public parking areas.

IMPORTANT NOTICE Horse competitors should kindly note access will not be granted to any part of the showground (with or without horses) until 12pm Saturday. Every rider, handler and groom must wear and clearly display a wristband. Passes are strictly non transferable. Competitor numbers must also be clearly displayed at all times. Any contravention of these rules will result in being refused admission and entries being cancelled without refund.

Competitor packs of wristbands and numbers will not be posted but must be collected when you arrive from the Equestrian Check-In Point in the Horsebox Parking Area (near the entrance to Ring 5).

Showing Classes Class E300: The Supreme Ridden Horse Championship Monday 31st August 2026 Pre-Judging at 3.30pm (Ring 5), Final judging and presentation 4.15pm (Main Ring) Judge: TBC The Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money and receive The Brian Perring Memorial Trophy (T145) kindly presented by Mrs J Perring.

Local Lead Rein & First Ridden Sunday 30th August 2026 Judge: Vicky Smith, Cheshire Entry fee : Members - £14.00, Non-Members - £20.00 Prizes: 1st - £24, 2nd - £18, 3rd - £15 This section has been kindly sponsored by Galloway Horsebox Hire CLASS RULES, REGULATIONS & QUALIFIERS These classes are unaffiliated and open to competitors who live within a 25 mile radius of the Showground Ponies must be aged 4 years old or over and must not exceed 122cm. Ponies entered may be of any breed but must be shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead rein to be attached to the noseband only.

Class E1: Local Lead Rein Pony

Ring 3, 8.00am Riders to be aged over 4 years old. Riders must not have attained their 9th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Each competitor in this class will be awarded a rosette.

Class E2: Local First Ridden Pony

Ring 3, to follow class E1 Riders to be aged over 4 years old. Riders must not have attained ther 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Each competitor in this class will be awarded a rosette.

Class E3: Local Mini Ridden Championship

Ring 3, to follow class E2 1st and 2nd place prize winners in classes E1 & E2 will be eligible for this championship.

The Orchard House Challenge Cup (T21) will be awarded to the winner of the Local Mini Ridden Championship.

Thelwell Ponies Sunday 30th August 2026 Judge: Vicky Smith, Cheshire Entry fee : Members - £14.00, Non-Members - £20.00 Prizes: 1st - £24, 2nd - £18, 3rd - £15 This class has been kindly sponsored by Team Ryecroft CLASS RULES, REGULATIONS & QUALIFIERS This class is unaffiliated and open to all children aged 4-12 years old. The maximum height of ponies to be 128cm (12.2hh). All ponies to be ridden, leading reins will be permitted. This is not a fancy dress competition and ponies must not be “made up” to resemble a Thelwell Pony but must be presented in their natural condition. If entries are sufficient, the class will be divided by pony height. This class is to give children whose ponies are not suitable for the in-hand or ridden classes a chance to compete in something other than the Mounted Fancy Dress.

Hard hats must be worn at all times. Competitors to be aged between 4 and 14 years old. Ponies to be no larger than 14.2hh. No entries will be taken on the day. Each competitor forward will receive a special rosette.

In order to qualify for the CHAPS UK Championship Show 2026, both Owner and Rider/Exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. Stallions are required to wear stallion discs in order to compete.

All Riders and owners must be Members of the Coloured Horse and Pony Society, The Showing Register or the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association. These classes will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. Please note that at Horse of the Year Show, ponies must not compete in both the Junior Coloured Ridden Pony of the Year and the Coloured Ridden Pony of the Year classes. The pony will compete in the class in which it qualifies first during the season. Riders and ponies may compete in both section A, section B and section D at HOYS qualifiers. Once a pony has qualified in either section A, section B or section D, it will no longer be eligible to compete in the section in which it has not qualified.

Marks will be awarded in the following way: Ride/Performance 50 Marks Maximum Conformation, Movement & Quality 50 Marks Maximum In the case of equality, the horse with the highest Ride/Performance mark will be deemed the winner. If there is still equality at this point, then the judges’ decision will be final.

These classes are a qualifying class for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 7th-11th October 2026.

Qualification will not pass below 5th place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office.

Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry form.

Horse of the Year Show – Catplant Group of Companies Show Hunter of the Year Classes E49-E51 & E53 are qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show at the NEC Birmingham, 7th - 11th October 2026. Qualification will not pass below 5th place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show Office.

Horses competing at the Horse of the Year Show and qualifying shows in The Hunter sections of The Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain classes at their Affiliated Shows cannot compete in Hack, Cobs and Riding Horse classes at the same show, on the same day and vice versa. Class E53: Hamilton Tarmac Small Show Hunter of the Year Ring 4, 1.00pm

A horse, which is registered as a Small Hunter, cannot compete in an Open Weight class and vice versa. For 2026 a JMB certificate is not required until after qualification. If an entry qualifies they will be required to send a JMB certificate within 28 days of qualification or before the entries for HOYS close, whichever is sooner. Judges are not empowered to question the height of a Registered Small Hunter.

Horse of the Year Show – The Harrod & Coles Family Cob of the Year Classes E65 & E66 are qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show (NEC Birmingham 7th - 11th October 2026).

Qualification will not pass below 5th place, with the exception of classes at the BSHA National Championship Show. In accordance with BSHA rules the entered animal must hold Full Horse Registration with the BSHA in order to qualify. Upgrades to Full Registration cannot be made retrospectively. This fee is not the Horse of the Year Show contribution, which goes to Grandstand Media Ltd. Exhibitors are required by DEFRA to carry with them Official Identity Documents for all horses/ponies when competing or travelling. Competitors are reminded that it is a DEFRA requirement that the Official Identity Documents must be in the name of the legal owner within 30 days of ownership. This must be registered with the breed society, relevant studbook or ID issuing agency, dependant on breed/type of animal. Spot checks may be carried out at qualifying shows and by breed societies.

Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) £2000 Ridden Challenge 2026 Qualifier This show is a qualifier for the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) £2,000 Ridden Challenge. The highest placed horse (not already qualified) from classes E65 & E66 that is registered or eligible for registration on the Irish Draught or Irish Draught Sport Horse Register, with a minimum of 25% proven Irish Draught breeding, will qualify for the final of the IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge. See p54 for further information.

The Champion and Reserve Champion Ridden Cob will go forward to the Supreme Ridden Horse Championship, to be held on Monday afternoon in the Main Ring.

Open to SSA members and non-members.

SPECIAL PRIZES Class E86: Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for SSA rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior places and SSA Championship Points Southernden Side Saddles offers a rosette to the highest placed Member aged under 14 on 1st January of the current year. A rosette in memory of the Late Mr R Philpot is offered by the SSA to the Adult Member judged to be the best turned out. Just So Elegant Side Saddle offer a rosette to the Junior Member judged to be the best turned out.

Class E87: Special rosettes will be presented to the highest placed Adult and Junior Members of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Card. Special Rosettes will be awarded to every entrant.

The JVJ Champion will be awarded a JVJ Championship Rosette and a bottle of champagne. The JVJ Reserve Champion will receive a Reserve Rosette and a bottle of champagne. Both receiving a suitably engraved momento. The first three competitors in this class will qualify for the JVJ 2027 Championship.

Class E87: Costume Concours D’Elegance Main Ring, 10.15am

Prizes: 1st - £50, 2nd - £40, 3rd - £30 The Barnaby Jones Memorial Trophy (T139) will be awarded to the winner of this class, kindly presented by Mrs Alison Harris.

The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse/pony and rider, and the way of going of the horse/pony. Safe tack must be used. Detailed inspection of the rider’s period costume is not required. Fancy dress is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required but the judge may ask small groups of 3 or 4 riders to give short displays. Juniors must wear hats to current British Safety Standards or above for this class. Adult riders not wearing such hats do so at their own risk.

Competitors should produce brief notes about their costume for the commentator when submitting their entry.

Class E86: SSA Equitation Championships Open Qualifying Class Ring 4, 3.00pm

Prizes: 1st - £35, 2nd - £30, 3rd - £25 The Side Saddle Association Salver (T76) will be awarded to the winner of this class.

The Equitation Championships Open Qualifying Class is run under the SSA rules defined in the current Member’s Handbook. Open to SSA Members and Non-Members. Members carrying their current Championship Points cards are eligible for SSA rosettes to 3rd place, and SSA Championship Points.

Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, Pelham or simple double bridle with a plain cavesson noseband. Horses should be plaited. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. Racing injuries and blemishes will be ignored.

Entrants are requested to add entry notes when making their entry online to provide any racing history to assist our commentators.

The winner of this class will go forward to the Supreme Ridden Horse Championship, to be held on Monday afternoon in the Main Ring. If the winner requires stabling in order to compete in this championship they should contact the Show Office and stabling will be provided without charge.

All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances.

Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification.

The Premium will take the form of a £100 Service Voucher awarded at the Judge’s discretion to their selection from the monetary prize winners, to be used towards the cost of covering the mare by any SHB (GB) Graded Stallion or Life Approved Premium Stallion. Concours d'Elegance Sunday 30th August 2026 Judge: Jamie Sheehy, Kent Entry fee : Members - £25.00, Non-Members - £34.00 Prizes: 1st - £35, 2nd - £30, 3rd - £25 CLASS RULES, REGULATIONS & QUALIFIERS These classes are open to all breeds and types of horses and ponies.

All classes are judged on the overall picture of elegance with a strong historical influence. Hats to BRC current standards must always be worn when mounted by ALL junior riders, with the chinstrap secured. Top hats, bowlers and costume hats may be worn by adult riders and a disclaimer must be signed if you choose not to wear a safety hat. The aim is to give a correct presentation for the chosen historical period. Concours d’Elegance is a costume competition, not fancy dress or “cosplay”. The picture created should represent history, perhaps depicting a film, painting or period drama. Any historical/traditional period may be portrayed up to the 1950s. Costume, tack, rider and horse/pony, including manners, will be taken into consideration.

First, second and third placed horses/ponies not already qualified in eligible classes will qualify for the Champion of Britain Title classes to be held at Onley Equestrian Centre, Rugby, Warwickshire on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th September 2026. If a horse/pony has already qualified, cards may be handed down to 6th place at the judge’s discretion. Each qualified horse/pony will receive a qualification card in the ring which will enable the owner to enter the Championship Show, provided the owner and rider/handler are, or become registered with the Concours d’Elegance Society within 21 days of the qualifying show. No horse registration is required.

Rescue Equine Showing Sunday 30th August 2026 Judge: Sara Hird, Kent Entry fee : Members - £25.00, Non-Members - £34.00 Prizes: 1st - £35, 2nd - £30, 3rd - £25 This section is kindly sponsored by Mr & Mrs A Murison CLASS RULES, REGULATIONS & QUALIFIERS These classes are affiliated to The Rescue Equine Showing Society and are a qualifier for the Final taking place at Equifest, Arena UK, Grantham, Lincolnshire in August 2027. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified in each class will qualify.

Entrants do not need to be a member of RESS. Definition of Rescue 1. Any equine that is adopted, fostered, under a guardianship scheme from any National Equine Welfare Council registered Charity (NEWC).

2. Any equine that has been adopted, fostered, under a guardianship scheme from any other equine charity (must be registered with the Charity Commission).

3. Any equine that has been ‘independently’ rescued by an individual. There must be supporting evidence (photographic, veterinary) that will be included in the ‘Rescue History’ for the equine, to demonstrate their rescue status.

Mark System: The mark system is designed to reward those equines that have the strongest rescue history and most dramatic ‘transformation’. Marks are awarded as follows: Rescue History and Transformation - 60% Performance - 40% In the event of a tie, the Rescue History and Transformation takes precedence.

All entries must provide, on entry to the class, a written ‘Rescue History’, detailing the background and history of the equine. Also, to be included are ‘before’ and ‘after’ photographs. This will be for the Judge to discuss with the competitor during the judging of the class and marks awarded accordingly. (A template for the layout for this Rescue History can be found on the Rescue Equine Showing Society website and at www. edenbridge-show.co.uk). This document MUST be emailed to info@edenbridge-show.co.uk at the time of entry.

Class E134: Open In Hand Rescue

All exhibits must be registered with the BMHS. Exhibitors, owners and handlers must be current members of the BMHS and have paid the appropriate BMHS 2026 Showing Levy. All horses must be measured in the current year prior to competing in the qualifier.

All competitors are advised to visit www.bmhs.co.uk for a list of measuring venues.

Exhibitors are required by DEFRA to carry with them Official Identity Documents for all horses/ponies when competing or travelling. Competitors are reminded that it is a DEFRA requirement that the Official Identity Documents must be in the name of the legal owner within 30 days of ownership. This must be registered with the breed society, relevant studbook or ID issuing agency, dependant on breed/type of animal. Spot checks may be carried out at qualifying shows and by breed societies.

Shetlands In Hand Sunday 30th August 2026 Judge: Linzi Cave, Suffolk Entry fee : Members - £16.00, Non-Members - £22.00 Prizes: 1st - £24, 2nd - £18, 3rd - £15 CLASS RULES, REGULATIONS & QUALIFIERS These classes are affiliated and run under the rules of the Shetland Pony Breed Society Stud Book. These classes are confined to SPS-BS registered ponies. Ponies must be named on the entry form and will be named in the catalogue. Society rosettes will only be given to ponies registered with the Society or to foals eligible for registration. 3 year old fillies with foals at foot may not be shown. All foals must be a minimum of three weeks old on the day of the show. In order to enter a stallion, entire males aged 4 years old and over must have an “S” Number and have been successfully through the SPS-BS stallion assessment prior to 2006 or the current SPS-BS voluntary veterinary examination. In-hand entire males 2 years and over are advised to display a stallion bridle badge. Children under 14 years old may not show colts (excluding foals) or entire males in in-hand classes. In the interests of safety, hard hats must be worn by all handlers aged 14 years or under in in-hand classes. Exhibitors should not kneel but remain standing while in the ring.

HEAVY HORSES Travelling Assistance £50 travelling assistance will be awarded to exhibits that come forward in Heavy Horse classes E157, E160 and E167-E171. A maximum of 2 animals per owner will be eligible for travelling assistance, with only one amount allocated per animal.

Stabling Heavy Horses will be stabled within the horsebox park, close to Ring 5. Stabling is available for Shires and Heavy Horse exhibitors at the rate of £75 per box per night, or £125 for two nights, and will be refunded after the show providing that the animal came forward in their class. This entitles the exhibitor to use the stable from 6.00pm on the night of reservation until 6.00pm the following day. Stabling must be booked and paid for at the time of making entries and can only be booked for the night before the horse(s) compete(s). Bedding will not be provided.

Best Shod Heavy Horse The competition, sponsored by The Worshipful Company of Farriers, will run concurrently with judging of the Shire Classes and Any Other Heavy Horse Breed classes.

Heavy Horse Parade Please note the Heavy Horse Parade will take place in the Main Ring at 4.00pm on Monday 31st August. All heavy horse exhibitors are warmly invited to take part in this parade with those forward included in a cash prize raffle to take place in the collecting ring.

Class E154: Best Shod Heavy Horse Award Judge: TBC The competition, sponsored by The Worshipful Company of Farriers, will run concurrently with judging of the Shire classes and Any Other Heavy Horse Breed class.

Eversley Ridden Heavy Horse Championship 2026 Open to horses 4 years old and over that are certified British bred and registered in the main Stud Books of the Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk or Percheron Society at the time of qualification. Part breds are not eligible. The horse must be entered in the name and ownership they are registered in. Qualification can be awarded to 3rd place if the winner and runner-up have previously qualified. If less than three horses are forward in the ring the award will not be presented.

Stables are £75 for 1 night, £125 for two nights. Bedding NOT provided. Stabling only avalable and refunded for the night BEFORE a horse competes. Stables can be found in the Shop section of our website. Heavy Horse & Coaching stables are larger than normal hire stables so please ensure you select this option when you make your purchase.

The Shire Horse Society will once again be running the SHS Young Handler’s Accumulator Award in 2026.

Points relative to placings will be awarded to those young handlers who are 2026 members of the Shire Horse Society. The winner will be announced at the end of the year. Points will be awarded to the top five, with points awarded as follows:- 1st-5 points, 2nd-4 points, 3rd- 3 points, 4th-2 points and 5th-1 point. The Champion Young Handler with the most points at the end of the year will win the trophy. Those taking part in the above should be Junior members of the Society and are able to join mid-season if they are not already members.

Points will only count once membership is taken up and points will not be back dated.

Junior memberships are £15 per annum and are open to those that have not attained their 18th birthday.

Victoria Extravaganza Carriage Driving Championship The winner of class E189 will qualify for the Victoria Extravaganza Carriage Driving Championship Grand Final to be held on Sunday 13th September 2026 at Bury Farm Equestrian Club, New Bury Farm, Mill Road Slapton, Bucks, LU7 9BT. In the event that the champion has already qualified then the reserve champion to qualify. If the reserve has also qualified, the rosette to be awarded back to the champion. Once qualified, the horse, whip and vehicle may not be changed.

Pleasure Driving Class E189 is open to newcomers to showing and not intended for those who show in Private Driving classes.

Regular showing competitors are asked to respect this and entries for the Pleasure Driving class will not be accepted from those who enter our Private Driving classes.

To be judged on general cleanliness, safety of turnout, correct fitting of harness and vehicle suitability. To be judged: 15% vehicle suitability, fit and cleanliness;15% harness suitability, fit and cleanliness; 70% driver and groom, horse/pony, way of going and suitability as a family pleasure animal. Competitors may, for example, be required to drive and halt between two pairs of cones and/or given other specific movements to execute in their show.

Private Driving - Concours D’elegance The essence of the class is the word ‘elegance’ and the winner will be the turnout which, in the opinion of the judge presents the most elegant effect. To include vehicle, horse, driver, passengers, etc. but above all the general impression. Attention may be paid to drivers/passengers personal costume but fancy dress or period costume are not permitted. The object of this class is to establish which turnout presents the most pleasing picture and normal judging criteria does not apply. IRISH DRAUGHT HORSE SOCIETY (GB) £2000 RIDDEN CHALLENGE 2027 QUALIFIER General Qualifying Eligibility Criteria

Horses need not be registered with/overstamped by the IDHS (GB) to qualify but must be on the IDHS (GB) Registers by the time of the Championships.

In the final, the Champion will be awarded £1000 prize money, the Reserve Champion will be awarded £500, and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each. In addition, the highest placed Purebred Irish Draught will receive £100, and the highest placed Sport Horse/Part bred will receive £50.

GENERAL QUALIFYING ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (You don’t have to be a member to enter but you must be by the time of the final). All horses must be registered with or overstamped by the IDHS (GB) and in the correct ownership. Owners of Pure bred Irish Draughts and Irish Draught Sport Horses/Part bred) must now be full members of the IDHS (GB) to compete.

Irish Draught Sport Horses/Part bred are horses that have a minimum of 25% proven All pure-bred Irish Draught Stallions must be inspected and overstamped by the IDHS (GB) and be Class 1, 2 or RID (GB). Stallions must display a red, white and blue ribbon in their tails and be shown by experienced rider/handlers over 18 years of age. Ridden horses must be 153cm (15hh) or over.

GENERAL QUALIFIER INFORMATION: The Finals of all IDHS (GB) qualifiers will be held at the IDHS (GB) National Championship Show in September 2027 at Venue TBC. All owners of qualified horses will be contacted by a member of the IDHS (GB) Show Affiliation Team Horses can only qualify for a specific Final once, regardless of the type or number of classes won, placed in or entered.

General Regulations The Show to be held at Ardenrun, Lingfield, Surrey on Sunday 30th & Monday 31st August 2026.

By entering competition classes at the Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show, you, and all of your associated party, agreed to abide by the rules and regulations set out below.

1. All entry forms must be accurately filled up and signed by the Exhibitor or their agent. An Exhibitor omitting to give information asked for on the entry form will be liable to have their entry rejected.

2. Every Exhibitor shall prove the correctness of their entry to the satisfaction of the Committee when called upon to do so. Failing to furnish the required proof may result in prohibition from exhibiting, any prize awarded may be withheld and the award cancelled.

3. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that they are eligible to compete in each class. No entry will be substituted after the closing date of entries.

4. Entry fees will be forfeited if the animal does not come forward for their class without a valid reason.

5. A refund will be considered if the animal is medically unable to compete. A refund request will need to completed, in writing, within 1 month of the date of the Show. A vet’s certificate must be supplied with the refund request. Refunds will only be considered after the Show.

9. To be eligible to make entries at Members’ rates an Exhibitor must have paid the annual subscription for the current year, 2026. Members must have paid their membership prior to making their entry to ensure that they are eligible for Members’ rates.

10. The Committee reserves the right to restrict the number of entries in any class.

11. Competitors in all classes must ensure they have sufficient grooms in attendance, especially if multiple entries are made. Competitors in charge of animals must be subject to the orders of the Stewards, and must not leave their animals unattended. All exhibitors are required to hold appropriate public liability insurance for their animals and to produce evidence of this on request.

12. Competitors and their associated party must have the correct and valid passes in order to access the Showground. Passes are only valid for the day of the competitor’s entered class. Wristbands and competition numbers will be available to collect on the day from the Equestrian Check-In in the Horse Box Park. They will NOT be sent in advance.

13. Exhibitors will be allocated 2 passes for the first horse entered, and 1 additional pass for each horse thereafter. A maximum of 6 passes will be allocated to each Exhibitor. Driving entries will receive 1 additional pass per entry.

Additional entry tickets may be purchased from the website at www.edenbridge-show.co.uk.

6. In all classes the Committee reserves the right of rejection of the entry of any person and also the right of withholding any prize or prizes awarded.

14. Horse boxes & trailers may park in the Horse Box Park. Supporting cars will not be permitted in the Horse Box Park and must park in the public car parks.

8. Entry fees for classes that are qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show or Royal International Horse Show are subject to an additional levy as noted in the schedule.

15. Stabling will not be available for competitors resident in local postcodes. This includes all Surrey, Sussex and London postcodes, and all Kent postcodes with the exception of the CT area.

General Regulations (continued) Stabling can be booked for competitors travelling from postcodes outside the areas listed above and for all competitors in the heavy horse and coaching sections. For heavy horses and coaching competitors the postcode restriction does not apply and stabling costs are refunded after the show for horses forward.

Horses and ponies must be competing on the day after the night booked for stabling – ie, if entered in Monday classes, stabling will only be permitted for Sunday night. Horses and ponies may not stay overnight unless accommodated in the official show stables.

Competitors with stables must provide their own bedding, feed and associated equipment and must ensure the stable is cleared completely before they leave. Stables cannot be accessed until 6pm of the night booked and must be cleaned and vacated by 6pm on the following day.

All stabling must be booked and paid for at the time of making entries. Competitors must report to the Stable Manager upon arrival for allocation of stabling.

There is no opportunity to hire stables on the day.

Horses eligible to compete in the Supreme Ridden Horse Championship will have stabling provided free of charge for the Sunday night, if required. Please advise the Show Office if stabling is required.

16. If any animal shall be proved to be suffering from any contagious or infectious disease at the time it is sent to the Show, the Exhibitor thereof shall indemnify the Society against all or any claims for losses sustained.

All equines arriving onto the showground must be accompanied by their equine passport. Spot checks will be carried out by a vet.

All equines over six months of age must be fully vaccinated against Equine Influenza and Tetanus.

Animals must have been vaccinated to comply with the requirements of the primary course (1st vaccination followed by the 2nd vaccination, between

21 - 92 days later), followed by the first booster (150 - 215 days). Animals beginning a course of vaccinations or restarting a course after 1st January 2024 are subject to reduced timescales for 2nd vaccination and booster. Please check with your vet to ensure you comply. Animals may compete having received the primary course and prior to the 1st booster, but not within 7 days of receiving a vaccination dose. Animals arriving at the showground must have been vaccinated within 12 months before the show.

17. The Show prohibits the administration and use of tranquilisers or other substances which may affect behaviour or performance of any animal at the show.

The rules of the affiliated breed societies will be upheld in respect of the administration of forbidden substances to show exhibits and The Show permits such societies to carry out any tests or inspections provided for in their rules. In the event of any such test proving positive, societies may be expected to take disciplinary action in accordance with their rules.

Exhibitors will disqualified from their class and placing and may be liable to pay for any additional costs that are incurred by The Show. The Show reserves the right to sample horses, ponies or donkeys independently from the breed societies.

18. Competitors are reminded that horses and ponies should be of a healthy weight. Riders must be of a suitable size for their horse or pony and they should not exceed 20% of the horse or pony’s body weight.

The Show’s stewards and officials have been asked to help enforce this and reserve the right to ask any rider to dismount if they exceed appropriate weight for the animal to carry.

21. Trophies presented at the show to be held for one year.

22. No one will be allowed in the ring while the judges are engaged upon their awards, except those who have duties to perform.

23. The judges may withhold any prize where there is evident want of merit. No second prize will be awarded unless there are at least three entries in a class and two individual exhibitors, and no third prize unless there are at least five entries.

24. With the exception of Young Handler classes, prize money will be paid electronically into the entrant’s nominated bank account after the event.

The Show Office will make every effort to make such payments within 30 days of the show. Entrants should take care to ensure they enter the correct information on the entry form. All queries and claims regarding prize money must be submitted before 10th October 2026.

25. Any class may be cancelled or, where appropriate, amalgamated unless there are at least three entries.

26. A class is deemed to have commenced when an animal enters the ring, if the judge is then present in the ring. If the judge is not present then the class shall commence when the judge enters the ring.

Exhibits will not be allowed into the ring after the ponies/horses have been asked to trot.

27. Judges named in this Schedule have been appointed to act as such in events as indicated. The Committee reserves the right to appoint substitutes for any who may be unavoidably prevented from attending and all entries are accepted upon that understanding.

28. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to note the name of the judge appointed for the classes they wish to enter and are advised, in the interests of all concerned, not knowingly to enter an animal bred by,

previously owned by or with any connections to the judge appointed.

29. The decision of the judge is final.

30. For those with stables booked and wishing to camp, a camping/caravan permit can be purchased when making entries or at a later date. A camping pass will need to be purchased for a tent, motorhome or caravan that will take up additional space in the Horse Box Car Park. Passes can be purchased for £10 and are valid for staying on site between 29th & 31st August 2026. All horses staying overnight must be accommodated in official Show stables (see regulation 15).

31. Use of data Data given upon entry of any classes to Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show will be retained and used to provide you with reasonable information about your participation and about the event in general. It may also be provided to various and relevant societies for checking eligibility, for publication of results and may be published in the Show’s catalogue, social media and website.

By providing data you are giving permission for that data to be stored on the Show’s systems and databases. The Show’s Privacy Notice can be found on our website at www.edenbridge-show.co.uk.

By entering a competition class you permit the Show Organisers to use your name and photographs of your exhibit in our publicity material. This could be online, in print and could be supplied to third party media organisations for publication.

32. Objections All objections must be made in writing to the Show Office within one hour of the termination of the judging of the classes in question on the day of the Show; such objection to be accompanied by a deposit of £5.00, this deposit to be forfeited in the event of the objection proving unfounded and/or frivolous. continues over...

General Regulations (continued) 33. Behaviour In the event of an Exhibitor, or anyone connected with an Exhibitor, being guilty of improper or abusive behaviour towards their animal, any Official of the Society or the general public, then the Chairman, Chief Steward or Show Director shall have the power to order the offender to leave the showground and recommend that the Council shall refuse that person’s entries for future shows. Should an Exhibitor be aggrieved at such action they may lodge an objection in writing. Such objections shall be considered by a panel of not less than 3 members of the Society appointed by the Chairman or Vice-Chairman and their decision shall be final.

All of the Stewards and Committees are volunteers who dedicate their time to organising and running the Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show. The Show operates a zero tolerance approach to abuse of our volunteers and kindly asks that you respect them during the event.

34. Health & Safety

Force majeure: Whilst every effort will be made to ensure the event takes place as planned, if natural disaster, extreme weather, act of God, war, act or threat of terror, civil commotion, fire, disease or death of a monarch should prevent the Show from running or substantially curtail its activities the Show shall not be liable for any losses incurred and reserves the right to refuse refund of fees.

37. Failure to comply with any of the foregoing regulations could result in prize money being withheld, possible disqualification and refusal of entries in future years.

38. Should any questions arise not provided for in the foregoing rules and regulations, the same must be referred to the Committee, whose decision shall be final.

The Organisers of this show have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organisers and all the Officials and Stewards. All those riding a horse or pony on site must wear a hat that complies with current safety standards.

35. Neither the Society nor its officers or servants shall be liable for personal injury or loss of or damage to any property whatsoever happening to or arising out of the presence of any person at the Society’s Show and caused by the wrongful act or omission of the Society, its officers or servants, and it is a condition of entry to the Show that any person visiting the Show, including any Exhibitors, competitors or their servants shall indemnify the Society, its officers or servants against all liabilities, claims, Edenbridge & Oxted Show Equestrian Schedule 2026
