I could tell you about the rhinos just outside our rooms…
Or the adrenaline rush of tracking lions via radio-tag collars…
Or the quiet, goosebump moment with the last two Northern White Rhinos on Earth.
And of course—Baraka, the blind black rhino who had us all the moment those big fat lips were doing that “Yum Yum” movement when we were feeding him.
But this trip? It was about more than wildlife. It was about community, connection, and those EO-only moments.
We had:
• Private game drives with Ol Pejeta’s guides—walking encyclopaedias of the park.
• VIP access to the sanctuary— intimate, moving, powerful.
• A drumming welcome so wild we were summoning rain.

• Kids ran free with arts, crafts, nature walks, and time with the anti-poaching dog unit. (I mean serious stuff and full-on grassroots) .
• A panel of Ol Pejeta’s Superstars, the people that made this a reality, not the ones with the money, the ones that have to convince thier people at the grassroots level.
• A special screening of KIFARU — a powerful documentary that follows the final days of Sudan, the last male northern white rhino, through the eyes of his devoted caretakers — left us deeply moved.
And now, dear Uncle or Aunty…
You might say, “But I could’ve done all that myself!”
Sure… but could you have done it like this, with this tribe, this vibe, this EO magic? (let alone the cost... but fully organised so that you can just focus on eating, sleeping and having a good time? )

“Glenn from the Bridge” of Aqua Blu and I have been working on a special, once in a lifetime, 9-night Banda Sea Expedition, October 2 – 11, 2025. This unique itinerary is made just for EO. Fall is the prime season in the Banda Sea / South Raja Ampat region, this one-of-a-kind itinerary was created to see once in a lifetime - locations that other boats cannot visit. Aqua Blu is a small (15-cabin) expedition boat with a combination of activities, paddleboarding, kayaking, history, hiking, snorkeling and of course incomparable scuba diving – including Misool, Wayil, Pulau Koon, Daram and more.
