The passing months have witnessed countless seeds of effort, perseverance, and dedication being sown by individuals around the world & here at Envision Magazine .

Now, as the harvest season arrives, we witness the fruition of our hard work and determination. It's a reminder that our actions have consequences, and the results we see are not merely a stroke of luck. We are blessed ! In this issue our last for 2023 it is amazing what we have seen. The magazine sponsored an event in Kentucky for the first time ever, we have a digital reach of 60,000. 2024 has been exciting so far ! Through reflection, we can celebrate our achievements and acknowledge the lessons we've learned along the way. Let this season be a time to appreciate the rewards and embrace the opportunity to sow new seeds for a fruitful future. 1. Apostle tell us about your ministry.

How long you have been serving the Lord?

I am Apostle Dr. Joyce Myrick Brown. I came up through the ranks of church ministry. I remember loving the Lord and taking Him as my friend at an early age. I encountered an experience with Him at the age of nine, in which I call, being saved without knowledge. Yet in my early twenties, I fully gave my heart to the Lord and begin to walk with Him with an intentional purpose. In church ministry, I started as a Missionary, in the late 70’s, then evangelist during the early 80’s through the mid-90’s, during which time I wrote the Poster, “If Asked the Question, Who Are We, Tell Them We Are From A-Z, copyright 1983. Also, during this time in my life I worked at The Christian Broadcast Network (CBN), Virginia Beach, VA, and also in Radio Ministry at WKGM 940 out of Smithfield, VA. From 1994-1998 I became the Founder and served as the Moderator of Women of Esteem Ministry, a group of thirty plus women, meeting each month, praying for, and helping to meet the needs of others and motivating women to come to their full potential in Christ. Then in 1996, I wrote NUGGETS, A Manual for Women Engaged In Ministry, and received

acknowledgment via an award from Bishop L. E. Willis, my Jurisdictional Prelate, and Mother Fannie G. Mann, my State Supervisor, of the Third Jurisdiction, in Virginia. I was led to start my first church, Life Changing Ministry in 1998, that started in my living room with eight in attendance, and then expanded beyond the walls, into a nice spacious facility. That same year I was ordained as an Elder and installed as Senior Pastor. I am now the Senior Pastor of In God We Trust Ministries Phase II Church, after serving as the Co-Pastor with the former Senior Pastor, the Late Bishop Bernard M. Mann. In January 2018, Bishop Bernard M. Mann, was called from labor to reward, and I became the Pastor. In 2021, because of the shift in direction of the church, I added “Phase II Church,” to the name to better coincided with the vision that the ministry was now moving in.

2. You recently got married can you give advice to women waiting on the Lord for their spouse?

Yes, for many years I walk alone with the Lord. There were trying times, many situations to endure and overcome, yet remaining faithful to the Lord and the call. It is important to always keep your eyes focused on God. Your intentions 9

towards Him must be true, and you must believe that He is a rewarder to them that diligently seek Him. Always remember, when you are not looking, He is always looking after and for you. Hold to your standards in Him, and never let down the principles that He has established in you. Compromising is not an option. I tell women of various ages, that it is never too late. I also tell them; you can tear up the script that you have put together for the type of husband (man) that you want. We tend to look at the outside, but God looks at the heart.

God knows who and what you need, not just necessarily what you want. Deacon Brown and I passed each other for years, both single, yet having no idea that one day we would be together. When he showed up, he came offering assistance in every area that I needed at the time, and clean in God’s sight. He became a member of my church, my driver, and took care of my vehicle making sure it was cleaned and ready to go whenever I was. All of this came prior to anything else, courtship, engagement and wedding. We had time to learn about each other and knew that it had to be God. 3. Your favorite scripture?

I personally have a few favorite scriptures, but the one that stands out at this time is Psalm 34. “I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth…

4. You also founded a Bible Institute.

Tell us about it and how it was started?

well as one of the instructors of Kingdom Life Ministries Bible Institute. Prior to KLMBI, I worked with many churches in the local area, establishing Schools of Ministry. For a brief time, I had started a school of ministry at Life Changing Ministries. In 2012, I established Kingdom Life Ministries Bible Institute.

However, at which time the courses were offered via correspondence only. In 2015, I felt led to bring the Bible Institute out of the box, and to make it available to anyone. I had a meeting with a few close friends, at Pastors Daniel and Joan Gray’s home, and we opened the Bible Institute in two locations; In God We Trust Ministries (Headquarters), and Healing Fountain (Trustee Apostle Dr. Robert J. Branch). We offered in course classes from Diploma Level I through Doctorate Degree Level VI. Since COVID 19, KLMBI shifted, making our courses available, and convenient in the comfort of your home, for people everywhere. Our courses are offered via Zoom and Google Classroom, and we have an annual graduation in June, when we all come together. Our courses are designed for anyone that has an interest in knowing more about God and His Ministry. You do not have to have a secular diploma or GED. You do need to have a desire to learn and an ability to get the assignments done. We are here to work with you. KLAMBI is a positive step in the right direction. 5. Favorite gospel song?

“How Great Thou Art” and “I Don’t Mind Waiting.”

6. How may one come into the ministry?

First by having a personal relationship with God. Then by waiting to hear clear instruction from Him concerning your call. In the meantime, apply study and application to your understanding. Enroll in Ministerial training courses, and of course speak with your leader about what you are experiencing. Now, I authored a book “The Mantle of Ministry Embracing the Call” by Joyce Myrick Wooden, which is available on Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and other religious book distributors, which addresses this entire subject. I encourage everyone interested to purchase it. There is a wealth of knowledge within its pages.

8. What do you do in your spare time?

Of course, I am available to study and or read an enjoyable book. Sometimes, my husband and I take long relaxing rides, or enjoy watching various shows on television including Television Ministries that we like, or maybe a Hallmark movie.

7. Your advice to those weary in the ministry.

Engaging in ministry comes with many challenges. There are the highs and the lows. Some have felt at times, like giving up and throwing in the towel. My words to anyone who may find themselves in such positions, to make a definitive appoint with the Father, our God who has called you. Pour your heart out to Him. Delve into His Word. Make yourself quiet. Listen to hear His instructions. He may redirect your course, or shift your position, but “Never Throw In THE TOWEL, use it to wipe the sweat, Keep It Moving.”

I LOVE A GOOD FIGHT

David came upon the challenge because he was bringing bread and cheese to his brothers. It wasn't his fight. Sometimes you are going to go to places for one thing and you will run up on a challenge.

Don't let the challenge cause fear in you. Remember all the other victories that you have won. They were challenges as well. This giant was only a confirmation that he had grown from a small fight to a heavyweight.

I have quickly wondered why David only took three smooth rocks. We know that the Armour he was given didn't fit. I'm sure there was a sword he could have used. A shield that would have covered him. Yet he chose three smooth stones. If looking from the giant's point of view these were only pebbles.

David chose to carry Power with him to battle not his problems. The three 16 | Envision Magazine October-December January - March 20212023

stones represent the Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. He chose what he had faith in. Not what he faced. David was a skilled slinger. He used what he had been trained in.

What are you taking with you to face your giants? Take what you have been skillfully trained in. Face your giant with what has taken down the bear and the lion. The sickness or the divorce. The pain and the loneliness.

That's what you face your next challenges with. Nothing new. Just the skill you have been given to throw your slingshot.

If you read further you will find that David didn't just knock the giant down. He took the giant's sword and cut off his head. Read that again. He took the giant’s sword and cut his head off. This was no small sword.

When you are not fighting in your own strength nothing is too heavy.

You're stronger than you think.

Don’t just kill that thing that keeps coming to challenge you. Take its head off. Giants still fall.

Throughout our seasons of life, our mental health is like a beautiful, yet ever-changing garden.

Just as a garden goes through seasons of planting, growth, and harvest, so too does our mental well-being.

Regular exercise, a balanced diet, mindfulness practices, boundary setting, grounding, and seeking professional help when needed can keep our mental garden healthy.

Each season of our life offers its own unique lessons and opportunities. By understanding and embracing the seasons of our mental well-being, we can cultivate resilience, wisdom, and a lasting sense of inner peace. Remember, it's always "A Time to Harvest" in the garden of your mental health.

In this article, we will explore the metaphor of "A Time to Harvest" to understand the importance of nurturing our mental health throughout the Autumn or Harvest season.

As we transition into the autumn or harvest season of life, challenges inevitably arise. Just as leaves fall from trees, we may face losses, health issues, financial issues, or other hardships.

A Time for Change

By Karla Jarvis, MSN, APRN, FNP-C Host of Karla’s Korner www.envision-radio.com Summer is over and it is time to see how your year has been going so far. You need to look at your finances, your health, your circle and your overall life to see what things worked and didn’t work for you.

September is the month where you should be looking at how you are going to end the year. Health is wealth and should always be the first thing you look into. What changes can you do to improve your health?

Path to improved health ● What you eat is closely linked to your health. Eat a plant based diet. Eat for your blood type. Avoid foods you don’t process.

Get a food allergy test. ● Get regular exercise. Exercise can help prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and colon cancer. Fit in physical activity whenever and wherever you can. Try taking the stairs, dancing, swimming, yoga, etc. find an activity you love. ● Lose weight if you're overweight. ● Protect your skin. Wear sunscreen. ● Practice safe sex. ● Don't smoke or use tobacco. ● Get at least 6-8 hours of sleep. ● Limit how much alcohol you drink. ● Increase your water intake to one gallon per day.

All are pillars of a healthy lifestyle. They're linked to lower risks of chronic disease and a longer life. So make an inventory of your health, schedule an appointment with your health care provider and let’s end the year with a bang.

Gentlemen: YOU HAVE TO LOVE A WOMAN OUT LOUD! Women thrive within relationships when they can feel the gravity of your love. Don't make her guess how you feel; express yourself and tell her why you love her. Women need words of affirmation publicly and privately. Your affirmations makes her feel wanted and desired. So never stop communicating your appreciation for her presence in your life.

DATE HER OUT LOUD: Gentlemen, PLAN THE DATE! Don't always ask her what she wants to do, call her with a plan, and tell her what to wear. On special occasions, buy her the ensemble that you would like to see her in for the evening, and have it delivered to her house. her like a lady, and make sure she knows that in your eyes she's the finest woman in the room.

COMPLIMENT HER OUT LOUD: Consistently tell her how beautiful you think she is. Notice when she does something different with her hair, and let her know how good it looks. Tell her how good she looks in those jeans, and then tell her how good she looks in your life. When she receives accolades at work, let her know how proud you are of her.

MISS HER OUT LOUD: Call her randomly and let her know that she crossed your mind. She wants to know that you think of her throughout your day. Be man enough to tell her that you

miss her. It makes her feel special when you let her know that you can't wait to see her.

FLIRT WITH HER OUT LOUD: Send her texts like she just met you at the mall 3 days ago. Write her playful loves notes and ask: Do you like me? Check yes or check no. Stick a note on her car windshield like you're a secret admirer and leave your phone number and tell her to call you. When you're out, tell her how fine she is in mixed company. Have her meet you at a lounge, and pretend you don't know each other. After she arrives, approach her like you would if she was a stranger and you wanted to get her phone number. Spit game like you did in the very beginning!

As men, we have to understand the importance of LOVING OUR WOMAN OUT LOUD. When we purchase new things (cars, jewelry, a new pair of Jordan's etc.), we tell everyone, and we can't wait to show these things off. That feeling should be magnified times 100 regarding your woman. When you know you have a good woman, talk about her, and show her off to the world. My First Year Overseas

Welcome back to part three of my first year Overseas and I know you are thinking by now what else can happen to Travis in his first year overseas. With the clothes on his back and in his third Country trying to make a team. I remember being in France having a car that is a stick not being able to drive it. Not having my teammates number to call and having a Washing Machine in my apartment that was in French so I didn't understand it and I had to hand wash my clothes everyday. Now I beat out the other american and I thought I played well enough to make the French team I was trying out for but the coach didn't like me enough so the team released me. Now my bag is still in Poland at that time but probably thrown away in the trash. I was in France for three weeks with a couple pair of shorts and the clothes I washed on my back everyday.

This time the coach didn't even give a reason the team just released me.

So now I just got released from my second team and I am thinking well I tried this overseas thing and it didn't work so now I am going home to figure out my next move. On the day I was supposed to fly back home my agent tells me dont fly home that I needed to be in France in two days.

He told the team to take me to a hotel and I would pay for the hotel.

Now the former team gave me like 1000 dollars and that was all the money I had. I called home to talk to my father and my girlfriend at the time and my father says don't come home you will be fine just make the team. My girlfriend at the time says

what will you do and I said I don't know and she said don't come home. I thought I would get sympathy from the people I cared about but I got nothing. It is not what I wanted to hear but it was what I needed to hear. If they would have said what I wanted to hear I might not have ever played Pro basketball overseas. My agent said he would be there in two days so try to hang in there for ten days. Now I haven't been doing too much in the hotel but go across the street and eat McDonalds everyday . That is probably why I don't eat there now. I also saw a couple things while I was in Paris. I saw the Eiffel Tower , I went to the place where Princess Diana car crashed.. I even met a

friend who took me to the out and we had a good time. Finally my agent shows up and he has another job opportunity for me in the country of Belgium. Where you will here more about my first year overseas !

Because…

Faith

By Charliese Brown Lewis Robert and Charliese Lewis Ministries Home of The 'After Church' Experience www.randclewisministries.com Recently, I was asked to be a part of a program called “Women of Valor, Women of Faith” hosted by the Kentucky Black Writers Collaborative (KBWC) of The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning.

I started to decline because I felt like I had not written enough literary works to be considered an accomplished writer. My husband encouraged me to take a leap of faith literally.

Then the KBWC Coordinator challenged me to write a new piece for the program.

I have struggled for years trying to figure out how I can write without imposing my faith into every piece. And it did not work. I am a faith writer at my core. Nothing speaks more truth to my character than my faith journey. I have often wondered how people who do not have faith make it through life. Without my faith in God, my life would be basic or even empty. In Him do I live, move, and have my being. I am nothing without God. My faith in Him is sure, steady, and solid.

One morning at 3:00 in August 2023, I typed my testimony, a brief memoir of sorts, onto a note page in my mobile phone. And this is what God gave me.

Because…Faith When people ask the question, why faith?

Because...faith when you feel your heart

break for the very first time and you thought you would never breathe again.

Because...faith when your best friend betrays you and it feels worse than a breakup.

Because...faith in the wee hours of the morning and insomnia is your companion when anxiety won't let you rest.

Because...faith when you get rejected from your dream school and you don't have a back plan.

Because...faith when there's a wedding dress in the closet for a wedding that never happened.

Because...faith when you look at an ultrasound and there's no heartbeat and your uterus just refuses to cooperate.

Because...faith is the only thing that sustains you when your father is dying of cancer and there's nothing you can do about it but surrender to God’s will and His way.

Because...faith when your whole household survives the 'Rona with only each other to check in and your asthmatic lungs are in the fight of their life.

Because...faith when you watch someone take their very last breath and that's not 63

how you planned your day.

And… Because...faith when the car is coming at you head on, strikes your vehicle, and you don’t know how you made it out alive and grateful to live to tell the story.

Because...faith when you get the job you prayed for, and you weren't even that qualified in your own mind, but favor stopped by your address.

Because...faith when you realize God kept you for the one who you were meant to spend the rest of your lifetime with, where two would truly become one.

Because...faith when you praise God that the last breath meant no more pain on this side and complete healing on the other side.

Because...faith when you first lay eyes on the child who was always in the plan, and she manifests as God's exactness.

Because...faith keeps you in your right mind when all else seems to be going wrong.

Because....without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. So why faith?

Because...faith connects, faith heals, faith believes, faith covers, faith hopes, faith loves, and faith pleases God. 64 | Envision Magazine October-December January - March 20212023

ARE YOU PREPARING FOR 2024 ?

As the end of the year approaches, it is natural for us to reflect on the past and set goals for the future. This time of year is often associated with resolutions, harvest time, and preparing for the new year. It is essential to approach these aspects intentionally and purposefully to make the most of this transitional period. Firstly, setting end-of-year resolutions can be a powerful way to evaluate our progress and make necessary changes.

Whether improving our health, learning a new skill, or strengthening relationships, resolutions provide a roadmap toward personal growth.

However, it is crucial to set realistic goals that are specific and measurable. We increase our chances of success by breaking down larger aspirations into smaller, more achievable steps. Secondly, harvest time symbolizes reaping the rewards of hard work and perseverance.

As farmers gather their crops after months of cultivation, we, too, can take stock of our accomplishments throughout the year. It’s Harvest Time! Celebrating achievements – 70 | Envision Magazine October-December January - March 20212023

big or small – boosts morale and motivates us to continue striving for excellence in all areas of life.

Lastly, preparing for the new year involves both reflection and planning. It is essential to assess what worked well in the past year and what needs improvement.

By identifying areas where we fell short or faced challenges, we can develop strategies to overcome them in the coming year.

Additionally, setting clear objectives for each aspect of life – such as career goals or personal development – helps create a sense of direction and purpose. To make these end-of-year practices more effective: 1) Write down your resolutions: Putting pen to paper solidifies your commitment and is a constant reminder throughout the year.

2) Seek accountability: Share your goals with trusted friends or family members who can support you.

3) Reflect on gratitude: Take time each day to express gratitude for what you have achieved so far; this positive mindset will fuel further success.

4) Create a vision board: A visual representation of your goals can be a powerful motivator and help you stay focused on your goals.

In conclusion, the end of the year is a time for reflection, celebration, and preparation.

By setting realistic resolutions, celebrating our achievements during harvest time, and intentionally planning for the new year, we can make the most out of this transitional period. Are you Willing to Work for the Harvest?

This statement was made by Jesus thousands of years ago but it still remains the same, there is opportunity, harvest, work, businesses and ministries that need laborers or workers. Are you willing to work for the harvest? I picture Peter, the experienced fisherman, finally catching a huge number of fish after obeying Jesus; even though he had caught nothing all night. He had so much fish that his nets threatened to break and his boat could have sank. Instead, he called others with boats to come help him get the great catch of fish to shore.

easy to get money, access and rewards seemingly without work. If you asked them, they would definitely tell you that it may look easy but it’s not easy. Success and living your best life may look easy on the outside to others but there are a lot of sleepless nights, phone calls made, emails responded to, social media posts and physical labor that goes into every successful endeavor that you never see.

You only see the harvest. It was the work, toil, disappointment, money invested, vacations delayed, entertainment events unattended, shopping therapy avoided, discouragement, blood, sweat and tears that you didn’t see that produced the harvest that you can see and that the laborer enjoys. So my question still to you is are you willing to work for the harvest? Let’s go!

In the elementary years, it's crucial to make learning spelling enjoyable and engaging for young learners. One effective and enjoyable way to achieve this is through the use of board games to practice spelling skills. Board games offer hands-on, interactive approach to spelling that not only makes learning fun, but also reinforces essential concepts. For parents, this is also a way to spend quality time with your child and sneak an educational component into family game time while having fun!

Some examples of board games or word games to play with your child to practice spelling concepts are scrabble, bananagrams, word searches, and memory match. With memory match, you are creating the game with your child by creating the cards with spelling words and definitions. You can take turns flipping cards to match words with the correct definition. The time has come for House of Manna Bread of Life Church to support the community in the many facets we always do: The Brother To Brother (BTB) Academy starts 14 October 2023 at Elizabethtown Community Technical College on Saturdays, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Pastor Marcus Dixon is the Director of (BTB). We are so excited to have Junior Achievement taught by Entrepreneur and CEO of Trista Steel: Stuart Melvin. We are excited to have Alpha Omega Sigma, Fort Knox, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated and Nu Beta Zeta, Fort Knox, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated to teach the young men Decision Making Skills and English.

We are looking forward to taking the young men on field trips to college open houses and to Noah’s Ark in Williamstown, KY. We are looking to teach financial literacy, investing, and estate planning during these upcoming sessions. Most of all, I thank God for the opportunity to teach Biblical understanding and discipline to help with spiritual development for the young men.

We are a service organization and base our model on the Church in Acts, where every member of the community came together to meet the needs of their neighbors.
