Nurturing a culture of entrepreneurship in the UAE

T

he Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry is on the forefront of nurturing a culture of entrepreneurship amongst the young citizens in line with the wise vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, which states that the shortest path to a brighter future is that of entrepreneurship.

In its quest to nurture UAE entrepreneurial talent, Dubai Chamber launched the first of its kind Tejar Dubai entrepreneurship development program which supports enterprising youth right from the conception of a business idea through to its development, implementation and realization of the commercial project.

As entrepreneurship plays an important role in the sustainable development and success of a business, the Tejar Dubai program directly contributes to the growth and development of the young entrepreneurs by providing them onsite training and mentoring to build up their confi-

dence and to acquire necessary skills and expertise required to enter the world of business.

This unique program has been launched as part of Dubai Chamber’s commitment to developing national talent and to offer them job opportunities as well as to open up avenues for their entrepreneurial projects in the area of small and medium enterprises. It also aims at enhancing the reputation of Dubai as a leading global trade and finance hub.

Also, this initiative demonstrates Dubai Chamber’s crucial role in helping improve the business climate of Dubai by attracting national talent to its fold while enhancing the competitiveness of Dubai businesses and promoting the emirate in global business forums.

An entrepreneurial platform for young Emirati citizens

I

n this Year of Innovation initiated by the UAE Government with emphasis on building a stable future for coming generations, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry is on the right track in helping all businesses, especially aspiring national entrepreneurs and startups establish and grow their small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

One major initiative of Dubai Chamber in this direction is the newly-launched Tejar Dubai which is an Emirati entrepreneur development program that identifies and develops nascent UAE national talent in the field of business and entrepreneurship.

Last year, Tejar Dubai saw the successful launch of four commercial projects in different sectors by its participants and has inspired other aspiring entrepreneurs to hone their entrepreneurial skills while instilling a spirit of innovation in young citizens.

The year gone by was highly successful for the program with the organization of 15 workshops on various interesting topics for upcoming entrepreneurs, 170 one-to-one consulting sessions with the candidates, assessment of 61 projects and approval of 21 projects of the applicants, besides the launch of four unique projects with more on the verge of an ambitious launch this year.

Interestingly, the Tejar Dubai initiative has a ratio of 70% of Emirati girls to 30% of Emirati boys. This percentage clearly reflects the participating females’ seriousness in pursuing a strong entrepreneurial career as well as their firm resilience to contribute to the economic growth and development of the emirate.

Tejar Dubai’s hosting of the Idea Olympics complementary program, which generated overwhelming response from budding entrepreneurs, too helped them to compete in the various business themes as the winners from each theme gained a direct entry into the entrepreneur development program.

Realizing the difficulties faced by new entrants to the business world, Dubai Chamber created a fitting platform for the young citizens to acquire the required skills and build up a strong foundation to make their mark in the diverse and lucrative economic market of Dubai. The results of last year make us proud that Tejar Dubai is attracting more aspiring entrepreneurs to its fold and their number is increasing by the day.

Bridging businesses Emirati ‘trep Rashed Harb’s first foray into F&B

E

mirati entrepreneur Rashed Harb says that while he’s franchising an existing successful model, it doesn’t make his business any less a

brick and mortar startup: “Even though Alouette Crêperie is a franchise, I still consider it as my own startup and a beginning to many other businesses.

Since this has been my first actual business experience, the hardest part was the early stages where I had to gather a lot of information, and reach out to some people and sometimes get rejected.” Abu Dhabi-based Alouette Crêperie, an original concept by Majed Al Marzoqi, is exactly what it sounds like- a Frenchinspired dessert-lover’s haven. The 24-year-old entrepreneur approached Al Marzoqi for franchising rights, and hopes to begin welcoming guests at his Dubai location in late February of this year.

ing my own business, but since I didn’t have enough experience in this matter I decided to franchise an established business to gain an understanding of how the market works. I believe in fighting for what you’re passionate about and following your dreams as far as they go, hence I approached Mr. Majed, who was very welcoming in negotiating a franchising opportunity in Dubai.” Harb, an undergraduate of AUD with a Coventry University MBA, says that his Alouette Crêperie will reflect the theme and menu of the original outlet, mentioning that Al Marzoqi undertook extensive research to develop the menu and décor for the F&B business.

In terms of finances, Harb is the sole owner and managed to get his project off the ground alone with the help of Tejar Dubai. “The projected ROI will be after two years of operating, and the total investment is AED1.2 million,” explains Harb. The new location of the Alouette Crêperie will be on Al Athar Road in Jumeirah, and Harb says social media is playing a heavy role in his marketing tactics. “While discussing the marketing tools with the franchisor, we agreed that social media is one of the most effective ways of communicating with our customers in the UAE. ‘TREP TALK Q+A How do you stay motivated?

Reading about success stories and analyzing successful businesses has been my greatest motivator. Whenever I feel pressured and overwhelmed, I read about how small businesses with small ideas that made it to the finish line and became globally recognized.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing Emirati entrepreneurs?

I believe that the greatest challenge facing Emirati entrepreneurs is translating their ideas into businesses. Even though many of them have the potential, the knowledge and the vision, they face the fear of taking their ideas to the next level. Taking the first step into the business world needs a lot of courage and help, and Tejar Dubai provides you with the perfect help, amazing support, and complete guidance. You, on the other hand, need to believe in yourself and step up for what you’re passionate about. Some of the largest businesses in the world started with an idea that someone thought was a silly idea, but turned out to be a million dollar business. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is supporting and encouraging entrepreneurs across the UAE in various forms, which led to a huge increase in the number of entrepreneur’s in past couple of years.

Following His Highness’ vision, the country is developing a lot of opportunities and possibilities for young entrepreneurs to enter the business world.

What process did you go through with Tejar Dubai?

In order to gain Tejar Dubai’s assistance, I had to go through couple of steps, which were interesting and challenging, but important to build the entrepreneur’s knowledge and acknowledgment towards starting a new business. Dealing with Tejar Dubai was like joining a new family where every member of the family supports, cares and mentors the other from every aspect. From the beginning, Tejar Dubai showed me the milestones of starting a new business and the possible obstacles that I might face to prepare me

Everything is coming up roses Emirati ‘trep Moza Al Huraiz says business is blooming

M

oz Flowers, a brick and mortar startup, doesn’t shy away from using technology to onboard new clients. In fact, their active and interactive Instagram presence might be just the trick for founder Moza Al Huraiz to continue to gain market share. The founder, together with her small team of four, are well-versed in multitasking: “Aside from being the Director, I also

ensure to sketch designs that my team of florists develop, and ensure the durability and shelf life of the flower. Our manager insures that everything sent out is up to standards, and she also maintains our stock of vases as well as flowers. We also have a driver who conveniently assists our clients by picking up and delivering their gifts and flowers,” explains the 24 year-old entrepreneur.

Al Huraiz, a graduate of the American University in Dubai with a Bachelors in Business Administration and a concentration in Economics, self-funded Moz Flowers. “Before founding Moz, I had my own perfumery lab where I had the chance to create new scents for myself and for my friends. This actually helped in the development of our own soy wax-based candles, which have also

been created in my own perfumery lab and sent to production.” Al Huraiz, a certified Tejar Dubai graduate, says that she initially tested out the market by introducing contemporary floral design, and seeing how the public reacted to the new bloom presentations. “To our surprise, people were extremely ready for that change. The idea began with wanting to elevate the downturn of flower shops around the area. Our concept was to advance the flower stores into a new level of retail development in a wellbranded floral concept,” says Al Huraiz. While Moz Flowers is now a successful operation, like any startup they faced their own set of challenges that they had to overcome to run smoothly.

The founder says that these minor setbacks were something they “jumped through”, acting as a launch pad for the next steps in their business growth.

‘TREP TALK Q+A What do you think is the biggest challenge facing Emirati entrepreneurs?

There is a lot of competition especially from foreign businesses and established businesses that have been around for years.

We are trying to set ourselves apart by introducing modern, yet sophisticated, designs.

Emiratis play an important role in contributing to the economy, we have plans to collaborate with local designers on future projects within Moz. Our long term plans for Moz is to expand further within and into other related areas of business.

My advice would be to find something that can stand out between the crowd of contestants. An Emirati seeking the help of Tejar [Dubai] should also be confident enough that his or her idea can make it in the real world, and can take all the challenges that it might face.

What is Moz Flowers marketing strategy?

Initially, we started via word of mouth. Basically for each order we ensured that two costumers were aware of the brand, which is the recipient and costumer.

We have accomplished that by tagging every arrangement and bouquet with a store tag with

our contact information. Apart from setting up brand awareness, it had also eliminated the figuring our process of where that arrangement came from.

Our main focus was to market our concept store through social media networks, which not only allows us to interact with our customers, but also serves as a genuine and a constant means of costumer to business communication.

How do you stay motivated?

What keeps me motivated is the positive reaction and feedback I get from clients. Our major part of business is gift giving, and seeing those smiles on our clients is just the biggest joy of all. When running your own business, you sort of lose track of time. At some point I realized that I have been working for a whole week without a break, but I wouldn’t chose it to be any other way.

What process did you go through with Tejar Dubai?

Tejar was my guide through this whole process. They were constantly guiding me with their professional advice. Apart from the guidance, they have also put me in contact with

various entrepreneurs who can benefit from our area of business and vise versa. Tejar is a place where entrepreneurs like myself go to expand their areas of expertise, in the way that they mentor and connect you with like-minded people to help your business flourish and get noticed. To secure their assistance, Tejar took me through various steps to insure that my business plan

was well thought through, and in a way made sense. I started with pitching in my idea, which was already in the process of development, and then I had to present my idea to the judges.

The team of judges was from very established businessmen in Dubai who have experience in various business fields. They weren’t hesitant to give their honest opinions on what might and might not succeed.

Food for thought Emirati ‘trep Mansoor Bastaki gives you something to chew on

M

AB Middle East Trading LLC (MAB), Mansoor Bastaki’s company, is a Dubai-based entity that manages and operates multiple areas such as retail-cafe outlets, Horeca and corporate sales, local distribution as well as regional re-export to the Middle East and India.

Mastihashop, a part of MAB, is his current hallmark brand with a wide range of products. MAB is the master franchisee of the trademark and brand Mastihashop for at least the next 10 years, meaning that Bastaki has exclusive distribution and franchise rights for the region.

“Under Mastihashop there are several sub brands. Mastihacafe is the fresh items served at Mastihashop like coffee, shakes, Mansoor Bastaki

ice cream, and baklava. CulturaMediterra is the confectionary items like chocolates, halva, delights, baklava, and handmade candy. Mastihamarket is the savory and sweets high-end specialty packed products like jams, marmalades, pastes, mastic water for drinking and for culinary use, mastic oil, olive oil, and much more. Mastihagift is the gift offerings that include hampers, gift baskets, and gift boxes. Mastihatherapy and Mastihacare is the cosmetics and skincare collection including face cream, hand cream, soaps, shampoos, toothpastes, and other products,” explains Bastaki. To market Mastihashop products, the MAB Founder opted for a mix of Business-to-Business (B2B) and Businessto-Consumer (B2C) strategies. “For the B2B, we just participated in SIAL Paris, and we will be participating in Gulfood 2015 in Dubai with stands to be able to meet potential buyers from UAE and the wider region. As far as my B2C plan, we will go heavily on social media to promote the retail outlets. We’ll also participate in multiple social events in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.” The next step for Bastaki on his enterprise route is expansion- he’s now looking at maturing the existing business of MAB and Mastihashop in the UAE, across the Middle East, and even India, adding that he is at present trying to connect with potential sub-franchisees as well as sub-distributors.

Prior to Mastihashop and MAB, Bastaki says that he proudly served the Dubai Government, attending to European Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) sales from 2005 to 2013. As an Emirati entrepreneur, he sought out Tejar Dubai for assistance in formulating his financial

planning. Eschewing the partnership route, instead Bastaki took on smaller investors, explaining that he preferred to keep external investment in the project to a minimum. “My idea is to minimize the investors at MAB, and hence I have decide to go more or less solo. I have other investors on board, but they own less than 15% share of the total capital of the company.

Since I am the master franchisee of Mastihashop, I have devised a plan to create tie-ups and partnership by franchising out the retail concept to other genuine operators in UAE and the GCC.” Another strategic area that Bastaki has considered carefully is diversifying his portfolio to ensure different revenue streams, and he also relates this back to his support of Emiratization: “MAB is an investor in an Emirati bakeshop specialized in Khameer, an Emirati bread. The brand is called Khameer & Dough- scheduled to open in December in Dubai. I, together with the investors in this new concept, are planning to have 10 outlets within the next two to three years in the UAE and the GCC.” The entrepreneur also mentions that H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s encouragement of entrepreneurship is integral to the UAE’s SME space: “I believe the initiative has successfully impacted the development of UAE nationals throughout all levels and for both genders. What makes me happy is to see private companies so excited to follow this initiative, which I believe is now becoming a win-win for both the employee and the employer.”

‘TREP TALK Q+A What is your current time commitment like to MAB Middle East?

I’m the Director/General Manager of the company, and hence my commitment is full-time dedicated to the company. We do have sales team, delivery crew, import/re-export executive, operations team, and retail team. On top of the pyramid is where I sit looking after the overall operations of the company.

How does MAB fit Emiratization into its corporate culture?

I believe the approach or initiative of Emiratization is very important for UAE’s future as it will create a good Emirati workforce base for the country.

UAE nationals should take advantage of these excellent

government initiatives and try to climb the ladder in their career by putting full attention and effort at their jobs! MAB is 100% owned by Emiratis and is managed full time by an Emirati, and I believe this is excellent for a startup. I have plans to recruit UAE Nationals for our sales force in the short-run once the company grows! In my opinion, the biggest challenge facing Emirati entrepreneurs is that since Dubai and the UAE are very cosmopolitan, this leads to having different nationalities and different company sizes based here. This could be the biggest challenge for Emirati young businesspeople- in other words, the international, mature traders can be more experienced in doing business if we compare them with young Emirati entrepreneurs.

What was the most difficult part of your execution of MAB?

Everything related to license issuance from DED, food registrations at Dubai Municipality Food Control, Chamber of Commerce membership issuance, customs work, Dubai Trade and other authorities that I dealt with was very smooth, and the personnel were very professional and supportive. In my previous government post, I promoted these services to foreign investment planning to come to Dubai, but I never experienced those services personally. After the establishment of MAB, I truly understand why Dubai has become the number one hub for trade and investment in the region. Going back to your question, the hardest part I would say was choosing locations for the retail outlets where I had to minimize rent cost, but be in prime neighborhoods and locations.

What process did you go through with Tejar Dubai?

I had to present my concept to Tejar Dubai’s board members covering the concept, marketing plans, costs and overhead, revenue forecast, as well as startup costs! They have a very boutique-style type of service and support, taking care of each

candidate or member carefully without any delays. The tangible support I got from Tejar Dubai was financial consultancy, marketing plan guidance, business matching, and many other areas. In my case it wasn’t only for my company growth, but growth on personal level as well.

Since Tejar Dubai is under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber of Commerce, my ambition in the future is to be a part of Dubai Chamber or the Tejar Dubai board to assist new Emirati young entrepreneurs.

Flexing some muscle Emirati ‘trep Yousuf Al Gurg has his eyes on the prize

C

urrently an architecture student at the American University in Dubai, Emirati Yousuf Al Gurg is well on his way to number-crunching his startup. “I plan to invest approximately AED1.5 million on Gravity Calisthenics Gym, and I expect to have a projected return of approximately 40% in the first year and cover the initial investment in around a twoyear timeframe. Once I have managed to secure funding from the bank, I expect the gym to be up and running within three months.” Al Gurg, a busi-

ness hopeful, says that the idea for a calisthenics-centric facility came to him when he found accounts of people in the U.S. discussing the physical discipline. As he grew more interested in actually trying out calisthenics, he began to search for a gym or active-space in the UAE that offered it, and he was surprised to find that it wasn’t readily available. “I believe that calisthenics is a healthier and more enjoyable alternative to regular gym workouts.

It’s a very attractive sport especially among youth, and in a country like the

UAE, which has a high rate of obesity and diabetes, I believe calisthenics can have a positive impact towards having a healthier society.”

Is there a market for this particular athletic activity in the country?

“Calisthenics has seen very rapid growth around the world recently. The three-day calisthenics workshop held in Dubai earlier this year was full on all days,” said Al Gurg. “Gravity Calisthenics Gym will also include an area to practice Parkour and Free Running.

As the gym grows, I aim to include others sports that complement calisthenics as well.” To get started on his first entrepreneurial venture, Al Gurg went to Tejar Dubai for guidance, and for overall refinement of his concept.

“Dealing with Tejar Dubai has been very helpful for me. Right from the start, they helped me fully visualize the direction in which Gravity Calisthenics Gym should be heading in, and they helped me make sure every detail has been taken into consideration,” explained Al Gurg. In addition, they also helped the startup founder land meetings with financial institutions that could potentially secure muchneeded funding.

“I hope to establish the first location for the gym in Al Quoz due to the abundance of warehouses in the area, and its close proximity to many residential neighborhoods.”

How does Al Gurg plan to spread the word once he’s gotten his business up and running? “My primary focus when it comes to marketing Gravity Calisthenics Gym will be social media, as that is the most effective way to connect to youth at this point in time. I hope to establish the first location for the gym in Al Quoz due to the abundance of warehouses in the area, and its close proximity to many residential neighborhoods.” Another strategic area Al Gurg has already addressed is forming brand alliances, an important factor that many beginner ‘treps overlook. “Earlier this year, a group from the World Calisthenics Organization came to Dubai for the first calisthenics workshop in the country.

That’s when I met with them and discussed setting up a gym affiliated with them.”

‘TREP TALK Q+A What is your current time commitment like to Gravity Calisthenics Gym?

What do you think IS the biggest challenge facing Emirati entrepreneurs?

I’m currently in the process of waiting for an approval, so it is very much a waiting game, however, I do spend an hour or two every day going through everything and looking for ways to improve. Once I have the gym functional, I do plan to distribute my time equally between my studies and managing the gym.

I believe that many young Emiratis have many great ideas for startups, however, many of them get caught up in routine life and these ideas never materialize.

I do believe that the whole country is behind H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision; entrepreneurship is very visible among the Emirati youth and I believe that this is very beneficial for the UAE. The numerous programs like Tejar Dubai that are aimed at aiding youth play a vital role in making sure that these young ideas turn into reality, and I believe that it is important to make sure these programs continue to get the support they need.

I believe that in a country with such a diverse international population, Emiratization plays a vital role. Local Emiratis do not make up the majority of the population, and Emiratization is very important in making sure that they have a role in their country’s development.

How do you stay motivated?

I try not to look at anything as a final goal, but rather as milestones. For every task, I have a specific aim. Once that aim is achieved, I will give it a day or two then come back and go over it all again to see what can be improved.

No matter what it is, there is always a way to improve it. I try to never look at anything as perfect, there is always a way.

What process did you go through with Tejar Dubai?

To start with, I was actually considering starting the gym in partnership with other members. However, after discussing the idea with some friends and family members, they introduced me to Tejar Dubai and advised me that starting off with their assistance would be better than starting a partnership.

My first meeting with Tejar Dubai consisted of me just generally introducing my whole idea to them. From there on, they helped me put together a proper business and financial plan, which I was to present to a panel from Tejar Dubai.

After getting the panel’s approval, members from Tejar Dubai helped me finalize the business plan and set up a meeting for me with the bank to discuss funding. I would advise anyone considering approaching Tejar Dubai not to hold back. Even if your idea is still not as developed as it should be, Tejar Dubai have an efficient program that will help you develop that idea and turn it into a proper business.

mirati entrepreneur Rashid Alahmedi took the popular “MyDubai” concept and ran with it. His idea brings together a lesser-utilized Bluetooth technology, and the concept of interactive, user-targeted smartphone shopping. Alahmedi is an Information Technology graduate of UAE University who followed up with a Masters in Quality Management from the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) that he’s since put to work on his own entrepreneurial endeavor. His UAE-based enterprise has ambitious plans; the ‘trep sees his MyDubai Rashid Progam as not only a project for Alahmedi profit, but also as doing his part to contribute to the country’s larger goals. “We would like to take the shopping experience to the next level, and we want to contribute to the vision of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to turn Dubai into a Smart City. MyDubai Program is the first step on our roadmap to build added value services, 14

It offers their customers new dimensions to the way they shop using smartphones while they are in-store or even at home.” Currently in the last stage of development, Alahmedi says that they’re in the midst of putting the finishing touches on the program’s design, app sections and work flow.

“We do have a beta version that demonstrates the function of the application for any shop owner who needs to understand or feel the experience. It shows what the application will do so that they can join our program. We also welcome any shop or brand owners who would like us to build something dedicated for them.” Having registered his company, the next step is his corporate website development (www.signifi.solutions), followed by the app launch. Alahmedi’s goals also factor in Emiratization, and he believes that there is no limit to what needs to be done: “I do believe that UAE nationals have huge potential. We do have people with great skillsets to lead future businesses, and build new startups that can leave a global footprint,” he says. “I wish that my business expands in the future, and that I have the capacity to host UAE talented software developers and IT experts.

I think it is everyone’s duty to help bring out the potential of young talents, and to keep them on the right track.”

‘TREP TALK Q+A How does the MyDubai Program work?

I’m a follower of the latest technologies and inventions around IT and Telecommunication Services and MyDubai idea was a reflection of Apple technology called iBeacon. This technology uses Bluetooth signals to trigger actions on your smartphone. Apple used this technology in their stores to send notifications to their customers, and I took the concept and adapted it with current vision of Dubai as a Smart City. I did this to produce value for shop owners and end customers. We install small Bluetooth transmitters near the item in the shop that you want to promote. The shop owner can enter a portal and edit the template with the information they want [to convey] like the item name, description, photos,

When the customer enters the shop -and has already installed the MyDubai application- and comes near the item by pre-defined distance and pre-determined time, the phone will trigger the Bluetooth signal. Accordingly it will send the customer a notification to his device, and when the user opens up the notification, they will be able to see the template which was configured by the shop owner in his phone. He then can like it, rate it, share it with his friends via social applications like Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing Emirati entrepreneurs?

I think the UAE government has made a big effort to reduce the complexity of starting a business, and we see that very clearly with the amount of foreign establishments started [here] or that have regional offices in the UAE. Emiratis should understand how to play a role in the development of their country and benefit from the growth that is happening, and all the potential that is coming with initiatives by the government like Smart

Government, Dubai Smart City, and Expo 2020. The main and biggest challenge for Emiratis is the risk associated with business from the financial aspects.

Due to this, taking the required steps to evaluate the business and be part of many SMEs and startup programs such as Tejar Dubai is going to reduce that risk, and will ensure the best ROI for them.

What process did you go through with Tejar Dubai?

The process was really simple.

All I needed was to apply for the program from the website and present the business idea and the case study with the support of the expert team who helped me get this done.

Tejar Dubai facilitated a lot of support starting from the ability to work with me on the business case and setting up the business strategy, access to useful workshops, establishment of the business firm, and the financial support needed.

Their role was important as an entrepreneur because of their experience in the market and view on the potential success of any business. of converting an idea into a real business. His UAE-based company, Kaizen Blitz LLC (KB), is working with one product at present, an energy drink made in the U.S. named +RED. He’s currently employed in the oil and gas sector, and prior to launching KB did mostly “small business deals like selling plate numbers and classic cars.” As for the concept behind his new company’s corporate identity? AlMentheri explains that the Japanese name is “well-known in quality control,” and that their brand means “continuous improvement”.

Improvement indeed, working with his co-founder, Walid Alkhaili, the duo wanted to get their idea off the ground, and went to Tejar Dubai for guidance after a slew of disappointments. “I came up with the idea when I was looking for a franchise to bring to the UAE, but with the demanding needs of the franchises

we instead decided to create our own brands and to find new, unique brands to bring to the Middle East.”

AlMentheri has plans to do a whole lot more, both with his own company and to support the SME space in the country. “Emiratization is one of the most important issues that we all have to support for the UAE’s future,” says AlMentheri adding that once KB grows in size and need, employing the country’s nationals is high on their priority agenda. KB’s ambitious plans also include another facet of Emiratization: promoting and distributing products abroad that are developed in the UAE by Emiratis. As for the determination and motivation entrepreneurs need to keep going, AlMentheri says that “for me it’s a passion. Once you have passion for what you are doing, you will always be motivated to see it build from ground up.”

‘TREP TALK Q+A What is the business model behind Kaizen Blitz (KB)?

What was the hardest part of your launch and execution of KB?

Kaizen Blitz now has one product for distribution in the Middle East: +RED Elixir made in USA. We are looking for sub-distributors in a couple of countries. KB is not only a distribution company, we invest in other F&B sectors. We are developing new plans to serve SME needs in the UAE by supporting their distribution and plans to produce more of their products. KB’s long-term goals is to be a pioneer in the F&B sector of creating our made in UAE innovative products, and with our distribution and central kitchen we will support the SME businesses by providing them with their needs to grow. We also have other ideas that are [currently] under study to provide SMEs and home businesses with needed support. For now, I’m committed to grow KB’s distribution and investments.

I’m currently working with Mubarak Al Suwaidi, founder of Suwaidish Technologies, to develop a smart application for the government that we hope will be launched later next year.

Our vision is to take the country to a smarter level that will help the country [move toward] the mission that our leaders want.

The hardest part was the approvals. We approached a couple of governmental organizations and we found out that you don’t get the right information or there is no communication with the other organizations, and there is no support for the young entrepreneurs. As a businessperson, you are committed 26 hours a day, seven days a week- not 24 hours and it’s not like being an employee where you work a couple of hours, go home and forget about it. You have to give your time, your passion, and your soul.

Mr. Fadi El Ghattis was great at mentoring us along the right path and made us [provide] more information so that we could cover all of our weak areas. a lot from him and [H.E.] Mr. Hisham Al Shirawi- the panel gave us guidance, mentorship and workshops that gave our knowledge strength, and how to do the right processes and to grow our business. We are [also] working with them for the financial support. I really think that every Emirati with an idea that he or she thinks is unique -or if he or she has the passion- they should seek Tejar Dubai’s help. We are like family, all of us learn from each other.

What process did you go through with Tejar Dubai?

I went to Tejar Dubai after going to several private and governmental organizations to support me with my startup, and to find funds and mentoring. I didn’t find the help I needed so I went to Tejar Dubai as a last effort and they gave me the support and mentoring that other institutions or organizations didn’t give, and closed the door on us. We went through several steps with Tejar Duabi; first was the introduction meeting and a

ubarak Al Suwaidi wasn’t always an entrepreneur, the young tech-savvy founder of Suwaidish Technologies (ST) is actually an engineer with a higher diploma in Aircraft Engineering and various Aviation Engineering licenses, formerly employed

by Emirates Airlines. Al Suwaidi started up his company due to a niche need he found in the market- he was running a home-based operation that sold traditional Emirati women’s fashions including Shailah using social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram, BBM, and a WordPress blog to encourage online clients.

He decided on creating a portal to try his hand at e-commerce after having a physical store at Global Village between 2012 and 2013, Mubarak Al Suwaidi and says that he encountered huge difficulties in the process including receiving online payment, and online shipping logistics. “Nowadays, many local entrepreneurs have found the obvious and extraordinary benefits of marketing

and selling online. Most of us dream to own our own online store where we have full control over our businesses,” explains Al Suwaidi about what factors pushed him to initiate ST. The road wasn’t as smooth as one would hope, the ‘trep explains that he encountered three primary difficulties: “Finding local mentors for SaaS [Software as a Service] business, dealing-with and speaking-to decision makers, and finding affordable talent with the right skills to hire.” Thus far, he hasn’t been seeded and hopes to launch his startup publically in September of this year. “I’m seeking funds to fuel the project’s operations with employees and a marketing budget to speed up the process.

I can’t measure the ROI without clear look on how much -and when- I will be funded.” With an investment of “around 500K from my personal savings up until now, I didn’t acquire personal loans for the business yet.” In addition to his financial commitment, Al Suwaidi admits that he has little time for a social life, and daily dedicates “four to five hours during the week,” on top of his

full-time job, and “weekends a minimum of six to ten hours. Add to that meetings, conference calls…” This Emirati’s goal?

To see technology in general, and that of his startup, “reflect his visions and goals to customers and make life easier and simpler. Suwaidish Technologies has a mission: Transform the community in a way that people do business, the way they market and sell to their customers.”

‘TREP TALK Q+A SUWAIDISH TECHNOLOGIES HAS DEVELOPED THE SUWAIDISH BASKET, AN E-COMMERCE WEBSITE BUILDER. CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE FUNCTIONALITY?

Suwaidish Basket will be available as a mobile application or as a web-based application.

Its functionality is to build and manage web-stores, e-commerce websites or dynamic websites. Suwaidish Basket is fundamentally targeting social media businesses, individual home businesses, micro, SMEs in the UAE and worldwide, to help them build their online presence more efficiently. That is through building their own gorgeous, simple web-store through our platform to display their products in an organized manner, and engage with their customers from their mobiles or tablets. Its innovative and productive approach could empower users to generate their own services, extract, and present data in a way that is designed to meet their individual requirements like choosing the Basket’s various ready themes, and build website templates depending on their style. Suwaidish Basket will allow the users to gain direct access to detailed analytical information about customer needs and wants through analytics tools. More importantly, Suwaidish Basket allows its users to accept orders in an efficient way and get paid online or by COD, and shipping with one simple button. This project is the start toward the e-commerce world that will be valued at US$15 billion by 2015!

WHAT DO YOU THINK THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE FACING EMIRATI ENTREPRENEURS?

There are enough institutions for supporting the entrepreneurship in the country, but in my opinion

most of these institutions are not entrepreneurially-effective enough. I know there is much more that can be done to evaluate and improve ideas, and calculate risks more efficiently.

The biggest challenges are that there are not enough UAE nationals acting as mentors, not enough banks that support entrepreneurship, a lack of digital knowledge centers that support the Arabic language, and also it’s hard to find affordable talent in the market to hire. I would desperately love to see more Emirati products like traditional clothing, traditional foods, Bukhoor, UAE brands like Feathers Fashion and Tamashee, traditional jewelers like Murta’asha and Murreya to knock international customers’ doors, and that can be done more efficiently through a website by using effective digital marketing and branding strategies.

HOW DO YOU STAY MOTIVATED?

By passion mostly. To stay motivated I started to organize and systemize myself with many tools on my Apple devices. Each new day brings an opportunity to get things rightif I don’t take the initiative to act, someone else will. I always keep to-do lists with

me so that I can capture those late-night ideas, and act or study them instantly the next day. Besides, knowing the fact that my business idea will give back some value to my country and community motivates me a lot. I have always wanted to make a difference, and I see my business as catalyst to allow me to do that.

WHAT PROCESS DID YOU GO THROUGH WITH TEJAR DUBAI?

Actually, I went to other major angel investor organizations here in UAE, but I was disappointed because they could not see the potentials of my project and how big of an impact it is going to have on the community and UAE’s economy. I can see lack of awareness in digital trends and where the rest of the world is heading, not just among Emirati entrepreneurs but among consultants and mentors at these local organizations, too. I was hoping they would embrace H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s visions more effectively to turn Dubai into Smart City, Smart Government, Smart-everything by using the foremost technologies. At last, I heard about Tejar Dubai through one of my friends, Ahmed Harib,

and I tried my luck there too.

First they arranged a meeting and listened to my pitch.

They liked my idea, Suwaidish Commerce Project, because I convinced them with facts and numbers from the first meeting. Then they wanted to make sure that I know what I’m doing after just two meetings.

I explained to them that I’m capable and passionate about my idea, I’m fulfilling a needed demand in the community, and targeting a big number of customers by building a good business model and a new financial model! I attended a couple of workshops in finance and I thank Mr. Fadi El Ghattis with his mentorship services in finance, and he also helped me stress test my financial model.

How does Emiratization play a role in this startup? “There are almost none or very few Emiratis teaching Arabic for nonArabic speakers in language centers.

We wanted to Emiratize this sector especially when many people would like to learn Arabic -and specifically the Emirati dialect- from native speakers. We offer jobs to anyone who is interested to teach Emirati dialect from two hours per week up to 20 hours.

It’s flexible and the institute timing suits Emirati employees, students, and mothers.” One of the biggest challenges they faced? “The time commitment in the first year.”

‘TREP TALK Q+A What was the hardest part of your execution of Al Ramsa Institute?

How did you feel when Al Ramsa Institute finally took off?

We think the hardest part is time and effort required at beginning. Usually, entrepreneurs are pioneers in the things that they do, and most of the time they have no idea what’s next. There is a lot of ambiguity in the entrepreneurship journey, and they need to tolerate it.

Most of the time, we work more than 16 hours per day and we spend our weekend working as well. No holidays in entrepreneurship!

We were happy to receive our first revenues in the last two months. We had a lot of press coverage about Al Ramsa Institute on Sharjah TV, Dubai TV and local Arabic and English newspapers. Our families are feeling proud of us. The taste of victory is very, very nice! We thought we needed about a million AED to start Al Ramsa, but with Tejar Dubai we got guidance to start with a minimum investment so that we didn’t put ourselves at high risk. We are testing our business model, and we’ll see what happens next.

How do you stay motivated?

As entrepreneurs we face many challenges but the belief of our idea keeps motived. If we believe in victory, then victory will believe in us. The good feedback from our customers keeps us motivated as well. We feel very happy when we see our students speaking Emirati and telling us about their experiences learning Arabic; our mission is to facilitate the communication and interaction between learners with the Emirati community.

What do you think IS the biggest challenge facing Emirati entrepreneurs?

What can be done to encourage more youth to enter entrepreneurship?

TARGET PARTICIPANTS FOR TEJAR DUBAI This program is open to all Emiratis who have a business idea they would like to advance, but lack specific skills and experience to do so. All applications are evaluated on a scoring criteria that makes clear what the applicants are judged on to secure a spot on the Tejar Dubai entrepreneur development program. If the applicant scores high enough on the criteria, he or she will be invited for an in-depth interview with a panel that will probe deeper into the potential of the applicant to decide whether they are qualified to participate in the program.

To mentor the successful applicants, Dubai Chamber has appointed a team of successful businessmen and technical experts that will help winning applicants complete their business idea and bring it to fruition.

Successful candidates that are selected for Tejar Dubai will undertake a program of three to six months that will have three components: • Individually-tailored training and qualification program • Relevant work experience with managerial coaching • Mentorship from an expert The candidate will be assisted in developing a business plan that is commercially viable and sustainable throughout the program. ‫الطالب يف املجتمع الإماراتي‪ .‬يتناول طالب الرم�سة‬ ‫من �أكرث العبارات �شيوع ًا بني رواد‬ ‫وجبات تراثية منزلية مع عائالت خليجية‪ ،‬كما‬ ‫الأعمال الناجحني‪« :‬جد الثغرة يف ال�سوق وغطي‬ ‫يح�ضرون ور�شات عمل ثقافية مثل رق�صة اليولة‪.‬‬ ‫الطلب»‪ .‬هذا متام ًا ما فعله كل من حنان الفردان‬ ‫يقوم بتعليم اللغة العربية �إماراتيون م�ستخدمني‬ ‫وعبد اهلل الكعبي بت�أ�سي�سي معهد الرم�سة‪ .‬والرم�سة‬ ‫مناهج خا�صة طورت لهذه الغاية بالذات‪ .‬التقى‬ ‫هو معهد لتعليم اللهجة الإماراتية املحكية ولدمج‬ ‫خريجي برنامج جتار دبي لتطوير رواد‬ ‫الأعمال‪ ،‬حنان الفردان وعبد اهلل الكعبي‬ ‫بعد �أن با�شرت الفردان م�سريتها بت�أ�سي�س‬ ‫أر�ض م�شرتكة‬ ‫معهد الرم�سة‪ ،‬فالتقيا على � ٍ‬ ‫يجمعهما �شغف م�ساعدة الآخرين و�إعطاء‬ ‫الوطن‪ .‬تقول الفردان‪« :‬در�ست اللهجة‬ ‫الإماراتية ملدة ‪� 3‬سنوات‪ ،‬ولطاملا حثني‬ ‫طالبي على ت�أ�سي�س معهد‪ .‬بعد �سنتني‬ ‫التقيت ب�أ�ستاذي عمار �شم�س‪ ،‬الذي‬ ‫عبد الله الكعبي‬ ‫حنان الفردان ن�صحني ب�أن اتبع حلمي و�أ�س�س معهد»‪.‬‬

‫«�إن وجد‪ ،‬فهناك القليل جد ًا من املدر�سني‬ ‫الإماراتيني الذين يعلمون اللغة العربية لغري الناطقني‬ ‫بها يف املراكز التعليمية‪ .‬رغبنا ب�أمرتة هذا املجال‪،‬‬ ‫خ�صو�ص ًا عندما يرغب غري العرب بتعلم اللغة‬ ‫العربية واللهجة الإماراتية على وجه اخل�صو�ص من‬ ‫قبل الناطقني باللغة‪.‬‬ ‫نقدم فر�صة للعمل لكل من يرغب بتعليم اللهجة‬ ‫الإماراتية بدء ًا من �ساعتني و�صو ًال �إىل ‪� 20‬ساعة يف‬ ‫الأ�سبوع‪ .‬الدوام مرن وينا�سب املوظفني والطالب‬ ‫والأمهات الإماراتيني»‪.‬‬ ‫واحد من أكبر التحديات التي واجهاها؟‬

‫ما هو الجزء األصعب في‬ ‫تأسيس معهد الرمسة؟‬

‫نعتقد �أن اجلزء الأ�صعب كان يف‬ ‫الوقت واجلهد املطلوب يف البداية‪.‬‬ ‫عاد ًة ما يكون �أ�صحاب الأعمال‬ ‫احلرة رواد ًا فيما يفعلون‪ ،‬ومعظم‬ ‫الأحيان ال يعرفون ما هي اخلطوة‬ ‫التالية‪ .‬هناك الكثري من الغمو�ض يف‬ ‫رحلة ريادة الأعمال‪ ،‬وعليهم حتمل‬ ‫ذلك‪ .‬غالب ًا ما نعمل ‪� 16‬ساعة يف‬ ‫اليوم‪ ،‬كما نق�ضي نهايات الأ�سبوع‬ ‫يف العمل �أي�ض ًا‪ .‬يف ريادة الأعمال ال‬ ‫يوجد �إجازة!‬ ‫كيف تظلون متحفزين؟‬

‫بالن�سبة للفتاة الإماراتية ف�إن‬ ‫التحدي اجتماعي بالدرجة الأوىل‪.‬‬ ‫ف�أن تق�ضي الفتاة �ساعات طويلة‬

‫يكن مبارك ال�سويدي بالغالب رائدا للأعمال‪،‬‬ ‫ال�شاب البارع يف التكنولوجيا و التقنيات م�ؤ�س�س‬ ‫‪)Suwaidish (ST‬هو يف الواقع مهند�س حا�صل‬ ‫على الدبلوم العايل يف هند�سة الطريان وتراخي�ص‬ ‫متعددة يف هند�سة الطريان‪ ،‬ا�ستخدمت �سابقا من‬ ‫قبل طريان الإمارات‪.‬‬ ‫بد أ� ال�سويدي‬ ‫�شركته مبا ر�آه‬ ‫منا�سبا لل�سوق‪،‬‬ ‫وقد بد�أ العمل من‬ ‫منزله ببيع �أزياء‬ ‫املر�أة التقليدية‬ ‫يف الإمارات مبا‬ ‫مبارك السويدي‬ ‫يف ذلك ال�شيلة‬ ‫با�ستخدام و�سائل الإعالم االجتماعية مثل تويرت‬ ‫و�إين�ستاجرام‪ BBM، WordPress ،‬لت�شجيع عمالء‬ ‫عرب الإنرتنت‪ .‬وقال �أنه قرر �إن�شاء بوابة لإثبات‬ ‫وجوده يف التجارة الإلكرتونية بعد �إن�شاء خمزن فعلي‬ ‫يف القرية العاملية بني عامي ‪ 2012‬و‪ ،2013‬ويقول‬ ‫�أنه واجه �صعوبات كبرية يف هذه العملية مبا يف ذلك‬ ‫تلقي الدفعات عرب الإنرتنت‪ ،‬واخلدمات اللوج�ستية‬ ‫وال�شحن عرب الإنرتنت‪« .‬يف الوقت احلا�ضر‪ ،‬وجد‬ ‫العديد من رجال الأعمال املحليني فوائد وا�ضحة‬ ‫وغري عادية لت�سويق والبيع على االنرتنت‪ .‬معظمنا‬ ‫‪18‬‬

‫يحلم بامتالك متجر على �شبكة الإنرتنت اخلا�صة‬ ‫بنا ليكون لدينا �سيطرة كاملة على �أعمالنا»‪ ،‬يو�ضح‬ ‫ال�سويدي العوامل التي دفعته لبدء ‪.ST‬‬ ‫«الطريق مل تكن معبده كما قد يتمنى � ٍأي منا»‪� ،‬شرح‬ ‫رائد الأعمال �أنه واجه ‪� 3‬صعوبات رئي�سية‪�« :‬إيجاد‬ ‫راعي �أو م�شرف حملي لأعمال القائمة على خدمات‬ ‫الكرتونية‪ ،‬والتعامل مع والتحدث �إىل �صانعي القرار‪،‬‬ ‫و�أخري ًا �إيجاد مواهب مبهارات جيدة ال�ستخدامه‬ ‫براتب معقول»‪ .‬لهذا مل يبد�أ عمله‬ ‫بعد وي�أمل �أن يطلقه يف �شهر �سبتمرب‬ ‫من هذا العام‪�« .‬أ�سعى للح�صول‬ ‫على التمويل لت�سيري عمليات العمل‬ ‫باملوظفني وميزانية الت�سويق لت�سريع‬ ‫العمل‪ .‬ال �أ�ستطيع ح�ساب العائد على‬ ‫اال�ستثمار من دون املعرفة الكاملة حول‬ ‫كم ومتى �س�أح�صل على التمويل»‪.‬‬ ‫با�ستثمار ي�صل �إىل ‪� 500‬ألف من‬ ‫مدخراتي اخلا�صة حتى اليوم‪ ،‬مل �آخذ‬ ‫قرو�ض �شخ�صية للعمل بعد‪ .‬بالإ�ضافة‬ ‫�إىل التزامه املايل يقول ال�سويدي �أن‬ ‫لي�س لديه الكثري من الوقت حلياته‬ ‫االجتماعية‪ ،‬ويكر�س ب�شكل يومي ‪4‬‬ ‫�إىل ‪� 5‬ساعات يف �أيام العمل بالإ�ضافة‬ ‫�إىل دوامه الكامل‪ ،‬ويف عطلة نهاية‬

‫الأ�سبوع ‪� 6‬إىل ‪� 10‬ساعات على الأقل‪� .‬أ�ضف �إىل ذلك‬ ‫االجتماعات وامل�ؤمترات الهاتفية‪« ...‬هذا الهدف‬ ‫الإماراتي �أن �أرى التقنية ب�شكل عام واخلا�صة بعمله‬ ‫ب�شكل خا�ص تعك�س ر�ؤيته و�أهدافه للعمالء‪ ،‬وجتعل‬ ‫احلياة �أب�سط و�أ�سهل‪ .‬لل�سويدي للتقنية مهمة وهي‬ ‫حتويل املجتمع ب�شكل يغري الطريقة التي ي�ؤدي بها‬ ‫النا�س الأعمال‪ ،‬والطريقة التي ي�سوقون بها ويبيعون‬ ‫عمالئهم»‪.‬‬

‫هناك م�ؤ�س�سات كافية لدعم ريادة‬

‫الأعمال يف هذه البلد‪ ،‬ولكن بر�أيي معظم‬ ‫هذه امل�ؤ�س�سات لي�ست فعالة ب�شكل كايف‪.‬‬ ‫�أعلم �أنه ميكن عمل �أكرث بكثري مما يتم‬ ‫عمله لتقييم وحت�سني الأفكار‪ ،‬كما ميكن‬ ‫احت�ساب املخاطر بطريقة �أكرث كفاءة‪.‬‬ ‫�أكرب التحديات هي عدم وجود مواطنني‬ ‫اماراتيني للعب دور املر�شدين‪ ،‬عدم وجود‬ ‫بنوك لدعم ريادة الأعمال‪� ،‬ضعف يف‬ ‫مراكز املعرفة التقنية التي تدعم اللغة‬ ‫العربية‪ ،‬بالإ�ضافة �إىل �صعوبة �إيجاد‬ ‫مواهب لتوظيفها يف �سوق العمل برواتب‬ ‫معقولة‪� .‬أمتنى ب�شدة ر�ؤية مزيد من‬ ‫املنتجات الإماراتية مثل اللبا�س التقليدي‪،‬‬ ‫الطعام التقليدي‪ ،‬البخور‪ ،‬العالمات‬ ‫التجارية الإماراتية مثل فيرثز فا�شن‬ ‫ومتا�شي‪� ،‬صانعي جموهرات تقليدية‬ ‫مثل ‪ Murta’asha‬ومر ّيا يطرقون �أبواب‬ ‫الزبائن العامليني‪ ،‬وكل هذا ميكن �إجنازه‬ ‫بكفاءة �أعلى من خالل موقع الكرتوين‬ ‫با�ستخدام ا�سرتاتيجيات الت�سويق الرقمي‬ ‫وتر�سيخ العالمة التجارية الفعالة‪.‬‬ ‫َ‬ ‫محف ًزا؟‬ ‫كيف تبقي نفسك‬

‫من خالل ال�شغف الكبري‪ .‬لقد بد�أت‬ ‫بتنظيم نف�سي بعدة �أدوات على �أجهزة‬ ‫�آبل اخلا�صة بي للحفاظ على الدافع‪ .‬كل‬ ‫يوم جديد يقدم فر�صة جديدة لت�صحيح‬

‫الأمور – �إذا مل �آخذ املبادرة للت�صرف‪،‬‬ ‫�سوف ي�أخذها �أحد �آخر‪ .‬احتفظ بقوائم‬ ‫املهام معي با�ستمرار اللتقاط تلك الأفكار‬ ‫التي ت�أتيني يف ال�ساعات املت�أخرة من‬ ‫الليل‪ ،‬و�أنفذها �أو �أدر�سها يف اليوم التايل‪.‬‬ ‫بالإ�ضافة �إىل ذلك‪ ،‬حتفزين كثري ًا معرفة‬ ‫�أن فكرة العمل اخلا�صة بي �سوف تعود‬ ‫بالفائدة على بلدي وجمتمعي‪ .‬لطاملا‬ ‫وددت �أن �أحدث تغيري ًا‪ ،‬و�أرى عملي‬ ‫كدافع ي�سمح يل بالقيام به‪.‬‬ ‫ما التجربة التي مررت بها مع‬ ‫تجار دبي؟‬

‫يف احلقيقة‪ ،‬لقد توجهت ملنظمات‬ ‫ا�ستثمار كبرية �أخرى هنا يف الإمارات‬ ‫العربية املتحدة‪ ،‬ولكن كنت �أ�صاب‬ ‫بخيبة �أمل لعدم قدرتهم على ر�ؤية‬ ‫�إمكانيات م�شروعي ومدى الأثر الكبري‬ ‫الذي �سيحدثه يف املجتمع واالقت�صاد‬ ‫االماراتي‪ .‬ميكنني مالحظة قلة الوعي‬ ‫يف النزعات الرقمية ور�ؤية االجتاه‬ ‫الذي يجري به بقية العامل‪ ،‬لي�س بني‬ ‫رواد الأعمال الإماراتيني وح�سب‪ ،‬بل‬ ‫بني امل�ست�شارين واملر�شدين يف تلك‬ ‫املنظمات املحلية �أي�ض ًا‪ .‬كنت �أمتنى �أن‬ ‫يتقبلوا ويتبنوا ر�ؤى �سمو ال�شيخ حممد‬ ‫بن را�شد �آل مكتوم ب�شكل �أكرث فعالية‬ ‫لتحويل دبي �إىل مدينة ذكية‪� ،‬إىل حكومة‬ ‫ذكية‪� ،‬إىل منطقة ذكية من كل النواحي‬ ‫با�ستخدام �أحدث التقنيات‪� .‬أخري ًا‪،‬‬

‫علمت بوجود برنامج جتار دبي من خالل‬ ‫�أحد �أ�صدقائي؛ �أحمد حريب‪ ،‬واختربت‬ ‫حظوظي هناك �أي�ض ًا‪ .‬لقد رتبوا يل‬ ‫موعد ًا وا�ستمعوا لعر�ضي يف البداية‪.‬‬ ‫لقد �أعجبوا بفكرتي؛ م�شروع ال�سويدي‬ ‫التجاري‪ ،‬لأنني متكنت من �إقناعهم‬ ‫با�ستخدام حقائق و�أرقام من اللقاء‬ ‫الأول‪ .‬ولكن بعد لقاءين فقط‪� ،‬أرادوا‬ ‫التحقق من قدرتي ومعرفتي مبا �أعمل‪.‬‬ ‫لقد و�ضحت لهم �أنني قادر و�شغوف‬ ‫بفكرتي‪ ،‬و�أنني �ألبي حاجة مطلوبة يف‬ ‫املجتمع‪ ،‬و�أ�ستهدف عدد كبري من الزبائن‬ ‫عن طريق بناء منوذج عمل جيد ومنوذج‬ ‫مايل جديد! لقد ح�ضرت ور�شتي عمل يف‬ ‫مو�ضوع التمويل و�أريد �شكر ال�سيد فادي‬ ‫الغطي�س خلدماته يف �إر�شادي من الناحية‬ ‫املالية‪ ،‬كما �ساعدين يف اختبار قدرة‬ ‫منوذجي املايل على حتمل ال�ضغط‪.‬‬

‫‪ ،)(KB‬مع منتج واحد يف الوقت احلا�ضر‪ ،‬وهو‬ ‫م�شروب طاقة ي�صنع يف الواليات املتحدة ا�سمه‬ ‫‪ .RED +‬حالي ًا املنذري موظف يف قطاع النفط‬ ‫والغاز‪ ،‬وقبل �إطالقه ل�شركة‪� KB‬أكرث ما كان‬ ‫يفعله هو القيام بعمل �صفقات جتارية �صغرية‬ ‫مثل بيع لوحة �أرقام وال�سيارات الكال�سيكية‪� .‬أما‬ ‫بالن�سبة للمفهوم الذي كان وراء هوية ال�شركة‬ ‫اجلديدة‪ ،‬يف�سر املنذري �أن هذا اال�سم الياباين‬ ‫«معروف يف مراقبة اجلودة»‪ ،‬و�أ�ضاف ب�أن‬ ‫ا�سمه التجاري يعني «التح�سني امل�ستمر»‪.‬‬ ‫بالفعل هو حت�سني حقيقي‪ ،‬بالعمل مع �شريكه‬ ‫امل�ؤ�س�س‪ ،‬وليد اخليلي‪� ،‬أراد الثنائي حتويل‬ ‫فكرتهم �إىل م�شروع على �أر�ض الواقع‪ ،‬فذهبا‬ ‫�إىل جتار دبي للح�صول على الإر�شاد بعد �سل�سلة‬ ‫من خيبات الأمل‪« .‬خطرت يل الفكرة عندما‬ ‫كنت �أبحث جللب االمتياز لدولة االمارات‬ ‫العربية املتحدة‪ ،‬ولكن مع االحتياجات امللحة من‬

‫االمتيازات‪ ،‬قررنا بدال من ذلك �إن�شاء العالمة‬ ‫التجارية اخلا�صة بنا لإيجاد عالمة جديدة‪،‬‬ ‫عالمة فريدة جللبها للإمارات العربية املتحدة»‪.‬‬ ‫لدى املنذري خطط للقيام مبا هو �أكرث بكثري‪،‬‬ ‫�سواء مع �شركته اخلا�صة �أو بدعم امل�شاريع‬ ‫ال�صغرية واملتو�سطة يف البالد‪« .‬التوطني هي‬ ‫واحدة من �أهم الق�ضايا لدينا جميعا لدعم‬ ‫م�ستقبل دولة الإمارات العربية املتحدة»‪،‬‬ ‫ويقول املنذري م�ضيفا �أنه مبجرد �أن تنمو‬ ‫‪ KB‬يف احلجم واحلاجة‪ ،‬توظيف املواطنني‬ ‫�سيكون على قائمة �أولوياته‪ .‬تت�ضمن ‪KB‬‬ ‫خطط طموحة �أي�ضا‪ ،‬وجها �آخر من التوطني‪:‬‬ ‫تعزيز وتوزيع املنتجات يف اخلارج التي يتم‬ ‫تطويرها يف الإمارات من قبل الإماراتيني‪.‬‬ ‫كما حتتاج لتحديد الدافع و�أ�صحاب امل�شاريع‬ ‫على اال�ستمرار‪ ،‬يقول املنذري «بالن�سبة يل‬ ‫�إنه �شغف‪ .‬عندما يكون لديك ال�شغف القوي‬ ‫�ستتفانى فيما تقوم به لتبنيه من ال�صفر‪.‬‬

‫كايزن بليتز لديها الآن منتج واحد‬ ‫للتوزيع يف ال�شرق الأو�سط ‪Elixir + RED‬‬ ‫�صنع يف الواليات املتحدة الأمريكية‪.‬‬ ‫نحن نبحث عن موزعني فرعيني يف عدة‬ ‫بلدان‪ KB .‬لي�ست فقط �شركة توزيع‪،‬‬ ‫علينا �أن ن�ستثمر يف قطاعات الأغذية‬ ‫وامل�شروبات الأخرى‪ .‬نحن نعمل على‬ ‫تطوير خطط جديدة لتلبية احتياجات‬ ‫ال�شركات ال�صغرية واملتو�سطة يف دولة‬ ‫الإمارات من خالل خطط دعم وتوزيع‬ ‫لإنتاج �أكرث‪.‬‬ ‫هدف ‪ KB‬على املدى الطويل ب�أن تكون‬ ‫رائدة يف قطاع الأغذية وامل�شروبات‬ ‫بت�صنيع منتجات يف الإمارات العربية‬ ‫املتحدة‪ ،‬وعن طريق التوزيع واملطبخ‬ ‫املركزي �سوف ندعم ال�شركات ال�صغرية‬ ‫واملتو�سطة عن طريق تزويدهم‬ ‫باحتياجاتهم يف النمو‪ .‬لدينا �أي�ضاً‬ ‫�أفكار �أخرى التي تتم حالي ًا قيد الدرا�سة‬ ‫لتزويد الأعمال ال�صغرية واملتو�سطة‬ ‫والأعمال املنزلية بالدعم الالزم‪� .‬أكر�س‬ ‫جهدي بالوقت احلايل لتحقيق النمو‬ ‫يف توزيع ‪� .KB‬أعمل حاليا مع مبارك‬ ‫ال�سويدي‪ ،‬م�ؤ�س�س ال�سويدي للتكنولوجيا‪،‬‬

‫لتطوير التطبيق ذكي للحكومة الذي‬ ‫ن�أمل �أن ينطلق يف العام املقبل‪ .‬ر�ؤيتنا‬ ‫هي �أن ن�أخذ البالد �إىل م�ستوى �أكرث‬ ‫ذكاء و�أن ن�ساعد البالد يف االجتاه نحو‬ ‫الأمام لتحقيق املهمة التي ي�سعى لها‬ ‫قادتنا‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو أصعب جزء من‬ ‫انطالقة ‪ KB‬وتنفيذه؟‬

‫املوافقات كانت اجلزء الأ�صعب‪ .‬ات�صلنا‬ ‫بعدة منظمات حكومية و�أفادوا ب�أنك‬ ‫مل حت�صل على املعلومات ال�صحيحة‬ ‫�أو �أنه لي�س هناك �أي ات�صال مع‬ ‫امل�ؤ�س�سات الأخرى‪ ،‬ولي�س هناك دعم‬ ‫لرواد الأعمال ال�شباب‪ .‬كرائد �أعمال‪،‬‬ ‫ملتزم ب ـ ‪� 26‬ساعة يف اليوم‪� ،‬سبعة �أيام‬ ‫يف الأ�سبوع لي�س ‪� 24‬ساعة و�أنها لي�ست‬ ‫كما لو �أنك موظف تعمل ب�ضع �ساعات‪،‬‬ ‫وعندما تعود �إىل بيتك وتن�ساها‪ ،‬يجب‬ ‫�أن تعطي وقتك‪ ،‬وال�شغف‪ ،‬وروحك‪.‬‬

‫لذلك ذهبت �إىل جتار دبي باعتبارها‬ ‫الفر�صة االخرية وقدموا يل الدعم‬ ‫والتوجيه الذي مل تقدمه يل امل�ؤ�س�سات‬ ‫الأخرى‪ ،‬التي �أغلقت الأبواب �أمامنا‪.‬‬ ‫م�ضينا قدم ًا من خالل عدة خطوات‬ ‫مع جتار دبي‪ .‬وكان �أول اجتماع مقدمة‬ ‫وجيزة عن فكرة م�شروعنا‪� .‬أر�سلنا‬ ‫لهم ملف التعريف وخطة عمل �أكرث‬ ‫تف�صيال للم�شروع‪ .‬يف االجتماع الثاين‬ ‫ناق�شنا �أف�ضل طريقة للو�صول �إىل العمل‬ ‫املنا�سب واخلطط املالية‪ .‬ال�سيد فادي‬ ‫الغطي�س كان رائع ًا يف توجيهنا على‬ ‫الطريق ال�صحيح وجعلنا نقدم مزيد من‬ ‫املعلومات حتى نتمكن من تغطية نقاط‬

‫ال�ضعف لدينا‪ .‬ثم قمنا بالعديد من‬ ‫االجتماعات معه حتى كنا على ا�ستعداد‬ ‫لتقدمي عر�ض تعريفي‪ .‬لقد تعلمنا منه‬ ‫الكثري و�سعادة ال�سيد ه�شام �شرياوي ‪-‬‬ ‫قدم لنا لوحة التوجيه والإر�شاد وور�ش‬ ‫العمل التي �أعطتنا قوة ملعلوماتنا‪ ،‬وكيفية‬ ‫القيام بالإجراءات ال�صحيحة وتنمية‬ ‫�أعمالنا‪ .‬نحن �أي�ضا عملنا معهم من �أجل‬ ‫الدعم املايل‪� .‬أعتقد �أن كل الإماراتي‬ ‫و�إماراتية يعتقدون �أن لديهم فكرة فريدة‬ ‫من نوعها ‪�-‬أو �إذا كان ال�شخ�ص لديه‬ ‫�شغف ينبغي عليهم طلب امل�ساعدة من‬ ‫جتار دبي‪ .‬نحن مثل الأ�سرة‪ ،‬وعلينا‬ ‫جميعا نتعلم من بع�ضنا البع�ض‪.‬‬

‫ما هي اإلجراءات التي قمت‬ ‫بها من خالل اتجار دبي؟‬

‫ذهبت �إىل جتار دبي بعد الذهاب �إىل‬ ‫العديد من املنظمات اخلا�صة واحلكومية‬ ‫للح�صول على الدعم من �أجل البدء‬ ‫بامل�شروع اخلا�ص بي‪ ،‬و�إيجاد التمويل‬ ‫والتوجيه‪ .‬مل �أجد م�ساعدة وكنت بحاجة‬

‫رائد األعمال اإلماراتي راشد األحمدي يريد تفصيل تجربتك بالتجزئة‪.‬‬ ‫�أخذ رائد الأعمال الإماراتي را�شد الأحمدي مفهوم الفكرة ال�شعبية‬ ‫(ماي دبي) وعمل عليها‪ .‬فكرته جتمع تقنية البلوتوث الأقل ا�ستخداما‪،‬‬ ‫ومفهوم التفاعلية‪ ،‬التي ت�ستهدف الت�سوق بوا�سطة الهاتف الذكي‪.‬‬ ‫الأحمدي هو خريج تقنية املعلومات من جامعة الإمارات العربية‬ ‫املتحدة مع درجة املاج�ستري يف �إدارة اجلودة من جامعة ولونغونغ يف‬ ‫دبي يف الوقت ذاته عمل على م�شروعه يف ريادة الأعمال اخلا�صة‪.‬‬ ‫�صاحب ال�شركة الإماراتية لديه خطط طموحة‪ ،‬ويرى �أن برناجمه‬ ‫(ماي دبي) لي�س فقط م�شروع من �أجل الربح‪ ،‬ولكن �أي�ضا للقيام بدوره‬ ‫للم�ساهمة يف حتقيق‬ ‫�أهداف �أكرب لوطنه‪.‬‬ ‫«نرغب بنقل جتربة‬ ‫الت�سوق �إىل امل�ستوى‬ ‫التايل‪ ،‬و نريد �أن‬ ‫ن�ساهم يف ر�ؤية �صاحب‬ ‫ال�سمو ال�شيخ حممد بن‬ ‫را�شد �آل مكتوم لتحويل‬ ‫دبي �إىل مدينة ذكية‪.‬‬ ‫برنامج (ماي دبي)‬ ‫هي اخلطوة الأوىل‬ ‫على خارطة الطريق‬ ‫‪14‬‬

‫�أنا متابع لآخر تطورات التكنولوجيا‬ ‫واالخرتاعات مبجال تكنولوجيا‬ ‫املعلومات وخدمات االت�صاالت‬ ‫وفكرة ماي دبي هي انعكا�س‬ ‫لتكنولوجيا �أبل �أي بيكون‪ .‬هذه‬ ‫التكنولوجيا ت�ستخدم �إ�شارات‬ ‫البلوتوث لتحريك الإجراءات على‬ ‫هاتفك الذكي‪.‬‬ ‫ت�ستخدم �أبل هذه التكنولوجيا‬ ‫لإر�سال �إخطارات لزبائنها‪،‬‬ ‫و�أخذت املفهوم وجعلته متكيفا مع‬ ‫الر�ؤية احلالية لدبي باعتبارها‬ ‫مدينة ذكية فعلت ذلك لإنتاج‬ ‫قيمة لأ�صحاب املحالت والزبائن‪.‬‬ ‫قمنا بتثبيت �أجهزة �إر�سال بلوتوث‬ ‫�صغرية يف املحل بالقرب من‬ ‫ال�شيء الذي تريد تعزيزه‪.‬‬ ‫ميكن ل�صاحب املحل �أن يدخل‬ ‫بوابة ويقوم بتحرير القالب ي�ضيف‬ ‫املعلومات التي يريدها �أي نقلها‬ ‫مثل ا�سم ال�شيء وموا�صفاته‪،‬‬ ‫و�صوره‪ ،‬و�سعره‪.‬‬ ‫عندما يدخل الزبون املحل –ويكون‬ ‫قد �أنزل تطبيق ماي دبي م�سبقا‬

‫�أعتقد �أن احلكومة الإماراتية‬ ‫بذلت جهود ًا كبرية للحد من‬ ‫تعقيدات بدء عمل جتاري‪ ،‬ونرى‬ ‫ذلك بو�ضوح مع كمية امل�ؤ�س�سات‬ ‫الأجنبية التي بد�أت هنا �أو لديها‬ ‫مكاتب �إقليمية يف الإمارات‪ .‬يجب‬ ‫على الإماراتيني �أن يفهموا كيف‬ ‫لهم �أن يلعبوا دور ًا يف تطوير‬ ‫بالدهم واال�ستفادة من النمو الذي‬

‫يحدث‪ ،‬وجميع الإمكانيات التي‬ ‫ت�أتي مع املبادرات من قبل احلكومة‬ ‫مثل احلكومة الذكية‪ ،‬ومدينة دبي‬ ‫الذكية‪ ،‬ومعر�ض ‪.2020‬‬ ‫والتحدي الأكرب والرئي�سي‬ ‫للمواطنني هو املخاطر املرتبطة‬ ‫بالأعمال من اجلوانب املالية‪.‬‬ ‫ونتيجة لهذا‪ ،‬يجب اتخاذ‬ ‫اخلطوات الالزمة لتقييم الأعمال‬ ‫و�أن تكون جزءا من العديد من‬ ‫ال�شركات ال�صغرية واملتو�سطة‬ ‫و برامج بدء الت�شغيل مثل جتار‬ ‫دبي �سوف يحد من هذا اخلطر‪ ،‬و‬ ‫�سوف ي�ضمن �أف�ضل عائد لهم‪.‬‬ ‫ماهي العملية التي‬ ‫قمت بها من خالل تجار‬ ‫دبي؟‬

‫كانت العملية ب�سيطة حقا‪ .‬كل ما‬ ‫يلزم هو التقدمي للربنامج من‬ ‫املوقع الإلكرتوين وتقدمي فكرة‬ ‫العمل ودرا�سة احلالة بدعم من‬ ‫فريق اخلرباء الذي �ساعدين‬ ‫على القيام بهذا‪ .‬جتار دبي‬ ‫قدمت الكثري من الدعم بدءا‬ ‫من القدرة على العمل معي على‬ ‫طبيعة العمل وو�ضع ا�سرتاتيجية‬ ‫العمل‪ ،‬والو�صول �إىل ور�ش عمل‬ ‫مفيدة‪ ،‬و�إن�شاء �شركة جتارية‪،‬‬

‫والدعم املايل الالزم‪ .‬كان دورهم‬ ‫مهم ومنظم ب�سبب خربتهم يف‬ ‫ال�سوق وعر�ض �إمكانية جناح‬ ‫�أي عمل جتاري‪ .‬ن�صيحتي لأي‬ ‫�شخ�ص لديه فكرة جديدة �أو ذكية‬ ‫�أن يطلب الدعم من جتار دبي‪،‬‬ ‫وتقييم فكرته معهم ل�ضمان �أف�ضل‬ ‫النتائج لتجارته ومنو يف امل�ستقبل‪.‬‬ ‫وبالنظر �إىل حقيقة ‪iBeacon‬‬ ‫كونها تقنية جديدة‪ ،‬ورفع تكيف‬ ‫هذه التكنولوجيا يف الكثري من‬ ‫التطبيقات اجلديدة‪ ،‬طلبت دعما‬ ‫من كيان مثل جتار دبي مع حتليل‬ ‫لطبيعة العمل‪ ،‬وهم وجهوين‬ ‫ب�أف�ضل نهج لدخول �سوق‪.‬‬

‫ب�أن ال�صالة الريا�ضية �ستكون قائمة بحد ذاتها يف‬ ‫غ�ضون ثالثة �أ�شهر»‪.‬‬ ‫القرق رجل �أعمال واعد وطموح يقول �أن فكرة مرفق‬ ‫للتمارين الريا�ضية راودته عندما وجد ح�سابات‬ ‫بع�ض الأفراد يف الواليات املتحدة تناق�ش اللياقة‬ ‫البدنية‪ .‬يف الواقع لقد ازداد اهتمامه عندما ج ّرب‬ ‫التمارين الريا�ضية وبد أ� يف البحث عن �صالة �ألعاب‬ ‫ريا�ضية يف دولة الإمارات العربية املتحدة التي ت�شمل‬ ‫هذه الألعاب‪ ،‬وكان متفاجئ �أن ذلك مل يكن متاحا‬

‫ب�سهولة‪�« .‬أعتقد �أن جرافيتي للتمارين الريا�ضية هو‬ ‫البديل الأكرث �صحة والأكرث متعة من متارين ال�صالة‬ ‫الريا�ضية العادية‪� .‬إنها ريا�ضة جذابة جدا وخا�صة‬ ‫بني ال�شباب‪ ،‬يف بلد مثل الإمارات العربية املتحدة‪،‬‬ ‫والتي لديها ن�سبة عالية من ال�سمنة ومر�ض ال�سكري‪،‬‬ ‫و�أعتقد �أن التمارين الريا�ضية ميكن �أن يكون لها‬ ‫ت�أثري �إيجابي يف وجود جمتمع �أكرث �صحة‪« .‬‬ ‫هل هناك �سوق خا�ص لهذا الن�شاط الريا�ضي يف‬ ‫البالد؟ «�شهدت التمارين الريا�ضية منو �سريع‬ ‫للغاية يف جميع �أنحاء العامل يف الآونة الأخرية‪.‬‬ ‫ور�شة عمل التمارين الريا�ضية التي عقدت يف دبي‬ ‫على مدى ثالثة �أيام يف وقت �سابق من هذا العام‬ ‫كان عدد احلا�ضرين مكتم ًال فيها‪ ،‬قال القرق‪.‬‬ ‫«�سوف ت�شمل �صالة جرافيتي للتمارين الريا�ضية‬ ‫�أي�ضا م�ساحة ملمار�سة الباركور واجلري احلر‪،‬‬ ‫عندما تتو�سع ال�صالة الريا�ضية �أ�سعى لت�شمل‬ ‫ريا�ضات �أخرى من �ش�أنها �أن تكمل التمارين‬ ‫الريا�ضية ب�شكل متكامل‪.‬‬ ‫وللبدء يف �أول مبادرة للم�شروع ذهب القرق لتجار‬ ‫دبي للتوجيه‪ ،‬وبالعموم ل�صقل مفهومه‪ « .‬التعامل مع‬ ‫جتار دبي كان مفيد ًا للغاية بالن�سبة يل‪ .‬منذ البداية‬ ‫�ساعدوين يف ت�صور كامل االجتاه الذي يجب �أن‬ ‫ن�سري فيه لإن�شاء �صالة متارين اجلاذبية الريا�ضية‪،‬‬ ‫كما �أتت م�ساعدتهم من خالل الت�أكد من �أنني‬ ‫اتخذت كل التفا�صيل بعني االعتبار»‪ ،‬و�أو�ضح القرق‬ ‫بالإ�ضافة �إىل ذلك‪ ،‬لقد �ساعدوين يف ت�أمني اجتماع‬ ‫ممول �أر�ض امل�شروع مع امل�ؤ�س�سات املالية التي ميكن‬ ‫�أن ت�أمن التمويل الالزم‪.‬‬ ‫كيف خطط القرق توزيع كلمته عندما تبد�أ �أعماله‬ ‫التجارية؟ �إن تركيزي الأ�سا�سي عندما يتعلق الأمر‬ ‫بت�سويق �صالة التمارين الريا�ضية �أن يكون ذلك‬ ‫من خالل و�سائل االعالم االجتماعية �أي �أن ذلك‬ ‫الطريقة الأكرث فعالية لالت�صال ال�شباب يف هذه‬ ‫املرحلة من الزمن‪� .‬آمل �أن ت�أ�سي�س املوقع الأول‬ ‫ل�صالة الألعاب الريا�ضية يف القوز ب�سبب وفرة‬ ‫امل�ستودعات يف املنطقة‪ ،‬وقربها من العديد من‬ ‫الأحياء ال�سكنية»‪.‬‬ ‫لقد تناول القرق بالفعل نقطة ا�سرتاتيجية �أخرى‬ ‫عنوانها ت�شكيل حتالفات العالمة التجارية‪ ،‬والتي‬ ‫تعد عامل مهم تطل العديد من املبتدئني»‪.‬‬ ‫جاءت جمموعة من منظمة متارين ريا�ضية عاملية‬ ‫�إىل دبي لور�شة العمل الأوىل يف البالد وذلك ويف‬ ‫وقت �سابق من هذا العام حيث التقيت معهم �آنذاك‬ ‫وبحثت �إن�شاء �صالة ريا�ضية تابعة لهم «‪.‬‬

‫حوار مع رائد األعمال‬ ‫كم من الوقت تكرس لصالة التمارين‬ ‫الرياضية؟‬

‫�أنا حاليا ب�صدد انتظار املوافقة فامل�س�ألة الآن لعبة‬ ‫انتظار �إىل حد كبري‪ ،‬ومع ذلك �أق�ضي كل يوم �ساعة‬ ‫�أو �ساعتني و �أنا �أتفقد كل �شيء و�أبحث عن طرق‬ ‫للتح�سني‪ .‬عندما �أجد �أن ال�صالة الريا�ضية بد�أت‬ ‫دورها الفعلي �سوف �أخطط لتوزيع وقتي بالت�ساوي‬ ‫بني درا�ستي و�إدارة ال�صالة الريا�ضية‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو برأيك أكبر تحد يواجه رجال‬ ‫األعمال اإلماراتيين؟‬

‫�أعتقد �أن الكثري من ال�شباب الإماراتي لديه العديد‬ ‫من الأفكار العظيمة ليبد�أ العمل‪ ،‬ومع ذلك الكثري‬ ‫يوسف‬ ‫القرق‬

‫منهم ان�شغل يف احلياة الروتينية وهذه الأفكار مل‬ ‫تتحقق �أبدا‪� .‬أعتقد �أن البالد ب�أكملها تدعم ر�ؤية‬ ‫�صاحب ال�سمو ال�شيخ حممد بن را�شد �آل مكتوم‪.‬‬ ‫�إن روح املبادرة وا�ضح جدا بني ال�شباب الإماراتي‪،‬‬ ‫و�أعتقد �أن هذا مفيد جدا لدولة الإمارات العربية‬ ‫املتحدة‪ .‬هناك برامج عديدة مثل جتار دبي تهدف �إىل‬ ‫م�ساعدة ال�شباب والتي تلعب دورا حيويا يف الت�أكد من‬ ‫�أن هذه الأفكار ال�شابة تتحول �إىل واقع‪ ،‬و�أعتقد �أنه‬ ‫من املهم الت�أكد من ا�ستمرار هذه الربامج للح�صول‬ ‫على الدعم الذي يحتاجوه‪ .‬و�أعتقد �أن التوطني يلعب‬ ‫دورا حيويا يف بلد يحوي هذا التنوع ال�سكاين الدويل‪.‬‬ ‫االماراتيني املحليني ال ي�شكلون غالبية ال�سكان‪ ،‬والتوطني‬ ‫مهم جدا يف الت�أكد من �أن لديهم دورا يف تنمية بالدهم‪.‬‬ ‫كيف يمكنك الحفاظ على حماسك؟‬

‫�أحاول �أن ال �أنظر �إىل �أي �شيء كهدف نهائي‪ ،‬و�إمنا‬ ‫بو�صفه حجر �أ�سا�س ‪� .‬إن لكل مهمة لدي هدف حمدد‬ ‫وعند حتقيق هذا الهدف �أعطي نف�سي يوم �أو يومني‬ ‫ثم �أعود لألقي نظرة �شاملة مرة �أخرى ملعرفة �إن كان‬ ‫هناك ما ميكن حت�سينه؛ بغ�ض النظر عن ما هو عليه‬ ‫هناك دائما و�سيلة لتح�سينه‪� .‬أحاول �أن ال �أنظر �إىل‬ ‫�أي �شيء على �أنه مثايل فهناك دائما و�سيلة‪.‬‬ ‫ما هي العملية التي تعاونت فيها مع‬ ‫تجار دبي؟‬

‫يف البداية كنت �أفكر بالفعل البدء يف ال�صالة‬

‫الريا�ضية بال�شراكة مع �أع�ضاء �آخرين‪ .‬ومع ذلك‬ ‫وبعد مناق�شة الفكرة مع بع�ض الأ�صدقاء و�أفراد‬ ‫الأ�سرة‪ ،‬لقد عرفوين بتجار دبي ون�صحوين ب�أن‬ ‫البداية مع م�ساعدتهم �سيكون �أف�ضل من البدء يف‬ ‫ال�شراكة‪.‬‬ ‫لقد توقف علي �أول لقاء يل مع جتار دبي فقط‬ ‫�إي�صال فكرتي كاملة لهم‪ ،‬من ذلك يوم �ساعدوين يف‬ ‫و�ضع خطة جتارية ومالية والذي كان يجب �أن �أقدمها‬ ‫للجنة من جتار دبي‪ .‬بعد احل�صول على موافقة‬ ‫اللجنة �ساعد �أع�ضاء من جتار دبي يف و�ضع اللم�سات‬ ‫الأخرية على خطة العمل وترتيب لقاء يل مع البنك‬ ‫ملناق�شة التمويل‪.‬‬ ‫�أن�صح �أي �شخ�ص يفكر يف التوجه �إىل جتار دبي �أن ال‬ ‫يرتدد‪ ،‬حتى لو فكرتك مل تتبلور كما ينبغي �أن تكون‪ ،‬اذ‬ ‫�إن لديهم برنامج فعال من �ش�أنه �أن ي�ساعدك على تطوير‬ ‫هذه الفكرة وحتويلها �إىل م�شروع جتاري منا�سب‪.‬‬

‫�أنا مدير ال�شركة وبالتايل التزامي‬ ‫هو بدوام كامل خم�ص�ص لل�شركة‪.‬‬ ‫لدينا فريق املبيعات‪ ،‬وطاقم الت�سليم‪،‬‬ ‫و�إدارة ا�سترياد و�إعادة الت�صدير وفريق‬ ‫العمليات‪ ،‬وفريق التجزئة‪ ،‬وقمة الهرم‬ ‫حيث �أجل�س �أراقب العمليات ال�شاملة‬ ‫لل�شركة‪.‬‬ ‫كيف تتناسب ‪ MAB‬مع‬ ‫التوطين في ثقافتها‬ ‫المؤسسية؟‬

‫�أعتقد �أن نهج �أو مبادرة التوطني مهم‬ ‫جدا مل�ستقبل دولة الإمارات العربية‬ ‫املتحدة حيث �سيتم �إن�شاء قاعدة جيدة‬

‫للقوى العاملة الإماراتية يف البالد‪ .‬يجب‬ ‫على مواطني دولة الإمارات اال�ستفادة من‬ ‫هذه املبادرات احلكومية املمتازة واملحاولة‬ ‫لت�سلق ال�سلم يف حياتهم املهنية من خالل‬ ‫االهتمام واجلهد الكامل يف وظائفهم!‬ ‫‪ MAB‬مملوكة ‪ 100٪‬من قبل الإماراتيني‬ ‫وتدار بدوام كامل من قبل الإماراتيني‪،‬‬ ‫و�أعتقد �أن هذا ال�شيء ممتاز لبدء‬ ‫الت�شغيل‪ .‬لدي خطط لتوظيف مواطني‬ ‫دولة الإمارات العربية املتحدة يف املبيعات‬ ‫يف املدى الق�صري عندما تنمو ال�شركة!‬ ‫يف ر�أيي التحدي الأكرب الذي يواجه رواد‬ ‫الأعمال الإماراتيني هو �أن دبي ودولة‬ ‫الإمارات العربية املتحدة يف قمة العاملية‪،‬‬ ‫وهذا ي�ؤدي �إىل وجود جن�سيات خمتلفة‬ ‫و�أحجام خمتلفة لل�شركات هنا‪ .‬هذا ميكن‬

‫�أن يكون التحدي الأكرب لرجال الأعمال‬ ‫ال�شباب الإماراتي وبعبارة �أخرى �إن‬‫التجار النا�ضجني العامليني ميكن �أن‬ ‫يكونوا �أكرث خربة يف ممار�سة الأعمال‬ ‫التجارية �إذا قارناهم مع رجال الأعمال‬ ‫الإماراتية ال�شابة‪.‬‬

‫ما هو الجزء األكثر صعوبة في‬ ‫مهام تنفيذك في ‪MAB‬؟‬

‫كان علي تقدمي فكرتي لأع�ضاء جمل�س‬ ‫�إدارة جتار دبي مت�ضمنة املفهوم‪ ،‬وخطط‬ ‫الت�سويق والتكاليف والنفقات العامة‪،‬‬

‫كان جتار دليلي خالل هذه العملية برمتها‬ ‫حيث كانوا يقدمون يل ن�صائحهم املهنية‬ ‫با�ستمرار‪ ،‬وب�صرف النظر عن توجيههم‬

‫�إن القراءة عن ق�ص�ص النجاح وحتليل الأعمال‬ ‫الناجحة �أكرب حافز يل كلما �شعرت بحرج وارتباك‬ ‫�أقر�أ حول كيف �أن ال�شركات ال�صغرية مع �أفكار‬ ‫�صغرية و�صلت �إىل خط النهاية و�أ�صبحت معرتف‬ ‫بها عامليا‪.‬‬ ‫ما هو برأيك أكبر تحد يواجه رجال‬ ‫األعمال اإلماراتيين؟‬

‫من �أجل احل�صول على امل�ساعدة جتار دبي ا�ضطررت‬ ‫للقيام بب�ضع اخلطوات‪ ،‬والتي كانت مثرية لالهتمام‬ ‫والتحدي ولكن الأهم كان بناء املعرفة لدى �صاحب‬ ‫امل�شروع والإقرار قدم ًا ببدء عمل جتاري جديد‪� .‬إن‬ ‫التعامل مع جتار دبي كان مبثابة االن�ضمام �إىل عائلة‬ ‫جديدة حيث كل فرد من �أفراد الأ�سرة يدعم‪ ،‬يهتم‬ ‫ويوجه الآخر من كل جانب‪.‬‬ ‫منذ البداية �أظهرت يل جتار دبي معامل بدء �أعمال‬ ‫جتارية جديدة والعقبات املحتملة التي قد �أواجهها‬

‫منصة ريادية‬ ‫للشباب اإلماراتي‬ ‫نجحت مبادرة جتار دبي يف حجز مكانٍ لها بني‬ ‫املبادرات القيمة التي ت�ستهدف تهيئة جيل جديد من رواد‬ ‫الأعمال املواطنني‪ ،‬حيث �شهد العام ‪ 2014‬ن�ضوج ثمار هذه‬ ‫املبادرة عرب �إطالق ‪ 4‬م�شاريع جتارية يف قطاعات وجماالت‬ ‫خمتلفة �شكلت بداية واعدة ملبادرة �سيكون لها �ش�أن كبري‬ ‫يف غر�س ثقافة ريادة الأعمال بني ال�شباب املواطن‪ ،‬حيث‬ ‫ال يخفى على �أحد �أن ثقافة ريادة الأعمال �ضرورية يف‬ ‫جمتمعنا احليوي‪ ،‬ولذلك ف�إننا نتطلع لغر�س هذه الثقافة‬ ‫وم�ساعدة �أبناء الوطن على الإبداع والنجاح‪.‬‬ ‫ومثل العام ‪ 2014‬نقلة نوعية يف عمل املبادرة حيث نظم‬ ‫الربنامج ‪ 15‬ور�شة عمل حول خمتلف املوا�ضيع التي تهم‬ ‫رواد الأعمال‪ ،‬يف حني عقدنا اكرث من ‪ 170‬اجتماع ًا ولقا ًء‬ ‫ثنائي ًا مع املر�شحني واملتقدمني للربنامج‪ ،‬ومت تقييم ‪61‬‬ ‫م�شروع ًا‪ ،‬حيث جرى اعتماد ‪ 21‬م�شروع ًا للتطبيق‪ ،‬و�أطلقنا‬ ‫على �أر�ض الواقع ‪ 4‬م�شاريع فريدة من نوعها خالل العام‬ ‫املا�ضي ‪ ،‬على ان يتم خالل العام احلايل �إطالق املزيد من‬ ‫امل�شاريع التجارية‪.‬‬ ‫ولعل ما مييز مبادرة جتار دبي هو الإقبال الكبري من قبل‬ ‫الفتيات الإماراتيات على امل�شاركة يف الربنامج‪ ،‬حيث‬ ‫تعدت ن�سبة الإماراتيات الـ ‪ 70%‬من املتقدمني للم�شاركة‬ ‫يف الربنامج مما يعك�س الدور الهام الذي تلعبه املر�أة‬ ‫الإماراتية يف م�سرية منو وتطور اقت�صاد الدولة‪ ،‬ويربز‬ ‫احل�س العايل بامل�س�ؤولية التي تتحلى به املر�أة الإماراتية‪.‬‬ ‫وقد �أطلقنا كذلك مبادرة مكملة لربنامج «جتار دبي»‬ ‫حتت عنوان «�أوملبياد الأفكار التجارية»‪ ،‬ا�ستقطبت �شريحة‬ ‫هامة من ال�شباب املواطن للتناف�س يف الأفكار التجارية‬ ‫�ضمن قطاعات حمددة‪ ،‬والفائز يف كل قطاع ان�ضم �إىل‬ ‫املراحل الالحقة من برنامج جتار دبي‪.‬‬ ‫وندرك يف غرفة دبي �إن ريادة الأعمال لي�ست مفهوم ًا �سهل‬

‫تعزيز ثقافة الريادة‬ ‫في اإلمارات العربية المتحدة‬ ‫عندما �أرادت غرفة جتارة و�صناعة دبي �أن تكون حمفز ًا‬ ‫رئي�سي ًا لل�شباب املواطن يف �إطالق م�شاريعهم التجارية مل‬ ‫جتد �أف�ضل من الرتكيز على مفهوم ريادة الأعمال وتنميته‬ ‫عم ًال بالر�ؤية احلكيمة ل�صاحب ال�سمو ال�شيخ حممد بن‬ ‫را�شد �آل مكتوم‪ ،‬نائب رئي�س الدولة رئي�س جمل�س الوزراء‬ ‫حاكم دبي ب�أن «ريادة الأعمال هي �أق�صر الطرق �إىل‬ ‫امل�ستقبل امل�شرق‪».‬‬ ‫وبالفعل مل تدّخر غرفة دبي �أي جهد يف ذلك‪ ،‬حيث �أطلقت‬ ‫مبادرتها املتمثلة بـ»جتار دبي» وهو اول م�شروع من نوعه‬ ‫ي�ساهم يف تلبية كافة متطلبات تطبيق الأفكار التجارية من‬ ‫حلظة تبلور الفكرة‪ ،‬مرور ًا بتطويرها وتنميتها‪ ،‬وو�صو ًال �إىل‬ ‫تطبيقها على �أر�ض الواقع‪.‬‬ ‫ولأن ريادة الأعمال عن�صر هام يف تطوير �أي جمتمع �أعمال‬ ‫ناجح وم�ستدام‪ ،‬جاءت مبادرة جتار دبي لت�ساهم يف تطوير‬ ‫اقت�صاد دبي القائم على التنوع واملعرفة‪ ،‬وتدفع ال�شباب‬ ‫املواطن الذي ميتلك قدرات و�إمكانات النجاح على التقدم‬ ‫والنمو‪ ،‬ودخول عامل ريادة الأعمال بثقة‪ ،‬متزود ًا باخلربات‬
