IMPACT, INTEGRATE, INFLUENCE

ANUSHREE DIXIT EDITOR anushree@gecmediagroup.com

2018 helped us in realizing the true essence of why The Titans was brought and established in this market. The Global CIO Forum, that was officially launched on 10th May 2018 during the UAE edition of the CIO 200, is successfully creating a never-seen-before community of CIOs from across the globe and is slowly spreading its wings far and wide with the tagline of Impact, Integrate, Influence. The very first product of the Global CIO Forum, The CIO 200 – TECHTalk and Global CIO Awards garnered rave reviews in its first year and has been successful in setting some novel benchmarks in the industry. We toured 9 countries this year, including UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Ghana, Kenya, Egypt, and India and felicitated over 1000 CIOs and gathered over 1500 C-level execs in the tour who came together and witnessed the overpowering ambitions of digital transformation and how the IT decision makers are revisiting their priorities and aligning it with their line of business. So, Thank you to all the CIOs and our valued partners who made this journey so simple, yet stupendous. In this issue of The Titans, we have tried to get some valuable inputs from a few CIOs who we felicitated during the tour. We shall add more CIOs in our upcoming issues as well and share their experience on being the champions of their organization. Over cover feature (p18) features Meshal AlFouwais, The Digital Transformation Initiative Manager of Saudi Electricity Company who shares with us the goals and objective of his Digital Transformation Initiative team in living up to the ambitions of the Saudi National Vision 2030. We have also tried to put The CIO 200 Roadshow glimpse in a very comprehensive manner. Do have a look! On that note, it’s a wrap for 2018. Well, neither I nor the team at The Titans could come up with a line of conclusion better than ‘Thank You’ as we close the year 2018 with great pomp and show. Thank You! Happy New Year 2019 in advance to all Readers.

Customer benefits: n Storage Efficiency: With over 70 servers accessed by more than 3,000 internal users, deploying Dell EMC’s VxRail has helped the university optimize application storage by 40%, reduce complexities of a traditional and siloed infrastructure, decrease maintenance costs and provide round the clock availability of mission critical applications. n Increased Performance: With the new HCI ecosystem, the university has successfully created a centralized IT environment that facilitates faster, better, and simplified delivery of virtual desktops, business-critical applications and remote office infrastructure. n Enhanced Productivity: As collaborative learning and connectivity brings about unprecedented changes in the education sector, with VDI solutions in place, students and faculty can securely access their desktops and applications from their chosen device at all times from within the three library locations located in the UOB campuses. n Accelerated Innovation: Since Dell EMC’s HCI solutions are engineered to deliver all the building blocks of IT in a single appliance, they have enabled the university to develop new capabilities, transform and increase its pace of innovation. n Agility: Leveraging a blend of cloud, VDI and HCI solutions has allowed the university to streamline and centralize the management of its IT infrastructure through consolidation and automation in order to better handle rapid data growth, which is expected to grow by 40% in the next 18 months, and improve response time for IT requests from faculty and students. Customer challenges: As a prominent higher education institution in the nation, University of Bahrain faced

a number of challenges associated with a traditional and siloed infrastructure that hindered the performance of critical applications, workflows, impacted employee efficiency and lacked the flexibility or agility to meet future expansion needs. With around 30,000 students, the university was looking to establish a world class learning environment and therefore needed a truly integrated infrastructure that was capable of meeting its needs, securing its data and minimizing the administrative and managerial challenges associated with operating separate infrastructures located at the main campus and two remote campuses. To meet this end, the university deployed Dell EMC’s VDI solution, VxRail, Dell Switches and Wyse thin client to accelerate their journey to IT and digital transformation. Sohaib Alabdi, Head of Information Network and Infrastructure Section at University of Bahrain said, “Innovation, digitization and entrepreneurial spirit is important in shaping a nation’s economy. To this purpose, we at University of Bahrain believe that institutional success means driving innovation at every level, embracing advanced technology and ensuring our students are future-ready. Therefore, we were looking for a trusted advisor and have partnered with Dell EMC.” Samer Diya, Country Manager, Oman & Bahrain at Dell EMC said, “Through our VDI and HCI solutions, the university has been able to leverage an integrated infrastructure to create a virtual computing environment that is readily flexible and scalable to meet the demands of tomorrow. We are glad to be part of their transformative journey, as they move a step closer in realizing their digital future, producing the next generation of skilled professionals in Bahrain and furthering human progress.”

IN TOUCH WITH THE DISRUPTIONS “My goal is to create efficiencies, develop IT team and to eliminate human errors. I am also working to provide a great experience in technology to our customers.”

Which technology of 2018 attracted you the most? Have you planned to implement the same in your organization? Technology is changing the way we work at office and lead our lives at home. In the past one decade, the rate of this change has skyrocketed, and you need to fasten up the pace to make intelligent decisions. With the advancements in the fields like AI, IoT, immersive experiences, etc., you need to be in close touch with these disruptions that have high potential. In our organization, I am planning to move from On-Premise to Cloud Solutions on large-scale.

In contrast, which technology of 2018 did you find futile/ nonrelevant for the present and why? In fact, any technology that does not simplify and facilitate the Human need in daily life is futile.

ALADDIN SAQER, HEAD OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, MCDONALDS QATAR

Tell us about the year 2018. What changes/evolution did it bring to your thinking or mindset as a CIO/IT head? A decade ago, the typical CIO was concerned mostly with IT infrastructure. Today’s CIO faces a bevy of additional challenges, namely user desires for mobility and the cloud. There’s an upside, though: Helping users get what they need makes CIOs more visible to the rest of the business.

Were you able to stick to your New Year resolutions? My resolution is to set the direction within the company for adoption of more efficient use of technology within the business. Also to deliver strategic insights to improve business results and customer experience in restaurant technology like Self-kiosk, Card Payment, Digital Signage, Free Customer WIFI & table service.

How active are you as CIO/IT head on social media platforms? Do you find them a good platform to share knowledge or has it become too monotonous? I am active on social media to get the updates and latest news. Social media is a great platform for sharing the expertise, achievements, announcement and engages with different cultures. We should are vigilant of the threats, social media is a beneficial platform in the current era.

What is your 2019 resolution? (if at all you are a ‘Resolutionmaking’ person) What goals do you have for your organization? My 2019 resolutions are for using latest technologies and Restaurant technology. My goal is to create efficiencies, develop IT Team and to eliminate human errors. I am also working to provide a great experience in technology to our customers.

resources. And thereby giving a superior experience to our guests and customers.

Were you able to stick to your New year resolutions? Did you achieve/over achieve/ under achieve? Sometimes situations and varied technology requirements don’t let us keep the resolutions. And only experience, innovative thinking and hard work can deliver superior service and thus meeting the service level expected by our guests. My New Year resolution was to achieve the set objectives in view of the market scenario. At the same time, someone said, hard work pays! And I think it did very favourably for me and my team, where in we over achieved our set targets through innovation and unquestionable hard work. With both ups and downs in various projects, we managed to maintain a fine balance throughout the year.

CHANDER MOHAN RAINA, IT & SYSTEMS MANAGER, WYNDHAM GRAND REGENCY - DOHA

Tell us about the year 2018. What changes/evolution did it bring to your thinking or mindset as a CIO/IT head? Year 2018 was very crucial for me and my team to have the pre-approved budget released for various upgradation process and projects. Many properties refrained for upgrades or new initiatives, from both the owners and operators perspective. This made me put on my ‘innovations hat’ to ensure the objectives for the management and the services required for the guests are met within agreed frame of work & limited

In brief, which technology of 2018 attracted you the most? Have you planned to implement the same in your organization? Cloud Computing has evolved in no time. Although not new, but we are on the path to implement cloud-based technologies in our esteemed property soon. Hearing about the similar implementations by other major hotel brands gets me more excited and motivated to achieve the same. Many a time, an initiative as such will have dependency on Corporate IT, but I am pleased to say that we are heading to the finish line, steadily moving ahead – one step at a time.

In contrast, which technology of 2018 did you find futile/ non-relevant for the present and why? We as hoteliers do come across several IT solutions and services tailor made for hospitality industry but looking at the purpose of some, it becomes more of an investment than a value add. In the recent times IPTV is one such technology which

I personally do not see adding any major benefit/s to the industry. Primary reason for me to point this out is that guests actually want their personal content to be viewed in the hotel room TV than watching television channels! For the travelling guests, TV’s for them is a media to view or play their personal content from their mobile device. Having said that, as a hotel operator, we still have to have an international bouquet of HD channels in hotel rooms with state-of-theart backend system running the service. I believe there is a need to review this by the industry itself.

How active are you as a CIO/ IT head on social media platforms? Do you find them a good platform to share knowledge or has it become too monotonous? These days, social media is taking the top spot to spread knowledge, it educates people and keeps them aware of the possible disaster recovery options as well in some cases. Monotonous is irrelevant in this fast-paced IT world. And, we see constant changes being made to the way social media behaves from segment to segment and helps several professionals. This in itself is a great move by the industry experts.

What is your 2019 resolution? What goals do you have for your organization? I am a resolution maker and have a wish-list for year 2019 to enhance my department and its services as the IT Head. I have planned to upgrade and change few guest interface systems and infrastructure of the hotel to meet the latest industry standards and to make guest check-in’s smooth and seamless. This also makes sure we are at par with the competitors because guests these days do compare a lot from the last hotel that they stayed in or the best guest experience they have had at a hotel. Presence of any new service gives any hotel a different experience from the others especially when it’s IT based. Hope 2019 fulfils my wishes!

HASHIM SAEED, IT HEAD, AZIZI DEVELOPMENTS

In brief, which technology of 2018 attracted you the most? Have you planned to implement the same in your organization? There are many emerging technologies available in the market, such as, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Big Data and many more. We have already invested on some of them and will continue to invest more in order to fully transform the business through digitalization and automation.

the right time. However, I hope the use of wires and cords can be replaced in the near future with such technologies like, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi networking.

How active are you as a CIO/ IT head on social media platforms? Do you find them a good platform to share knowledge or has it become too monotonous? Social media platforms are powerful tools used by organizations for multiple purposes. Personally, I am active on social media to connect with people and share knowledge; however, from an organizational point of view, we showcase our products, news, projects updates and press releases with our customers and to the public using various types of social media platforms. Also, we have deployed an internal communication and collaboration tool, which fosters an open corporate culture, distributes information in real time, censors divisional and locationbased boundaries among employees as well as encourages knowledge sharing.

What is your 2019 resolution? (if at all you are a ‘Resolutionmaking’ person) What goals do you have for your organization? Throughout the 2018 journey, we have improved many areas and learned lots of lessons, which need to be addressed within the 2019 plan. However, 2019 is going to be interesting for the Real Estate and Construction industry. It provides us the opportunity to implement innovative solutions that will help organizational growth, increase profitability and differentiate us from other property developers. We plan to invest substantially on state-of-the-art technologies.

SAFDAR ZAMAN, HEAD OF IT STRATEGY & GOVERNANCE, NAKHEEL Machine Learning and AI is most useful in scenarios where huge variations of data and rules exist, such massive problems cannot be programmed via traditional programming code and functions. For example you are tasked to program customer’s behaviouracross geographically diversified large foot-print. These customers have continuously evolving preferences thus a traditional programmer will have to code thousands of permutations and combinations, yet they will not be able to have a mature system as these conditions would becomeobsoleteascustomerspreferenceswill evolve. In such problems machine learning is effective, data scientists write statistical and machine learning Algorithms like Naive Bayes, Linear Regression K Nearest Neighbour, k-means clustering using Python, R codes or other languages. These algorithms go through massive data sets, learn the ruleswithout human intervention and will continuously update, classify or cluster the data (depending on the 16

The below are few of the key machine learning types and techniques 1. Supervised Learning Supervised learning is the type of machine learning where data scientist / subject matter experts inputs to machine basic rules, data labels, classification, and regression thus with providing the target. The data is divided into training and test data. The training data has basic rules of input variables and its relationship with output variables. Machine algorithms go through the training data and start identifying patterns, relationships and start building the rules which would derive the desired output. As more data is explored the algorithm collects more rules and at same time adjusts and improves its self to enhance output quality. The machine algorithms mature as they explore more data and mature in a way that even if you change the input variables, yet machines calculate the output variables with accuracy based on learned patterns. a. Data classifications: n Binary classification are used to classify the binary data questions in data sets and has only two outputs (1 or 0). n Multiclass classifications are used to classify the data issues where there are multiple outcomes and classification of data, for example cars data set can be of classified as SUVs, Saloons, jeeps, trucks etc. b. Tools and Techniques: n Decision Trees are used to classify the data elements by creating tree structure. n K-nearest neighbor is a pattern recognition algorithm. This algorithm works by calculating the distance between data points and is used to solve classifications and regression problems. n Naive Bayes is based on Naive assumption and assumes no relationship between input data variables.

2. Un-Supervised Learning This machine algorithm works on data elements where there is no mapping or relationship between input and the output target. The machine observes data, does exploratory data analysis, discovers hidden patterns and clusters data. As machines creates the relationships without human intervention, it is common to see new clusters created by machines which never existed before in human knowledge. For example when an un-Supervised Learning algorithm is grouped to look at the data of millions of blood samples, the algorithm will study and based on the patterns can identify the blood types not known to humans before or can claim new relationships between different blood types. The amazing fact is that these new patterns are completely correct also. 3. Semi-Supervised Learning is a mix of supervised and un-supervised machine learning technique, first machine is provided data with defined relationship rules of output / input variables and relationships , once machine learns the patterns the un-labelled data is fed in the system to cluster the new data types. 4. Reinforcement Learning is branch of machine learning technique that enables machines to learn through its actions by continuously getting the feedback. Machine Learning Use Cases The below are few of the machine learning use cases which have made their way to product lines of the systems and products Information Security n Data loss Prevention n Natural Language Processing (NLP) n Robotic Process Automation n Chat Bots n Human Genome n CCTV intelligence with emotions and face recognition n Digital Marketing

NEW TECHNOLOGIES ON RADAR

“No new technology attracted me much, however IoT and AI are in my radar and chatbots and some new ideas are taking shape. Blockchain is very close to my exploration for 2019”

Tell us about the year 2018. What changes/evolution did it bring to your thinking or mindset as a CIO/IT head? 2018 saw mindset change in top management to embrace cloud and moving from capex to opex model. The main reason for this being the tightening of budgets on capex.

Were you able to stick to your New year resolutions? Did you achieve/ over achieve/ under achieve? 100% achieved. It was my dream to migrate our entire application landscape including SAP to the cloud. Infact I over achieved.

In brief, which technology of 2018 attracted you the most? Have you planned to implement the same in your organization? No new technology attracted me much, however IoT and AI are in my radar and chatbots and some new ideas are taking shape. Blockchain is very close to my exploration for 2019.

In contrast, which technology of 2018 did you find futile/ non-relevant for the present and why? Privacy is something not yet well taken in our part of the world, compared to Europe.

How active are you as a CIO/IT head on social media platforms? Do you find them a good platform to share knowledge or has it become too monotonous? Very active and very useful.

JOE BASTIAN, HEAD OF IT, GALFAR

What is your 2019 resolution? (if at all you are a ‘Resolution-making’ person) What goals do you have for your organization? Set up a profit center for Information Technology products and services is my target for 2019.

ABDULGADER K. ALHARTHI, GM - IT, SAUDI GROUND SERVICES Tell us about the year 2018. What changes/evolution did it bring to your thinking or mindset as a CIO/IT head?

Were you able to stick to your New year resolutions? Did you achieve/over achieve/ under achieve?

2018 was a challenging year for me , I started my current role as CIO in Saudi Ground Services (SGS) on February 2018 to lead full digital transformation in the company from Implementing new ERP (SAP) solution to implementing new solution for our ground handling operation (Inform Project) to do full upgrade of our IT infrastructure and moving to Cloud in addition to normal daily challenges for any CIO on maintaining business as usual and keep the team aligned and motivated to provide high quality IT services to the business.

n With the support of our board, CEO and the rest of leadership team along with full commitment from my IT team we were able to achieve great result and more to come. n Inform project implementation completed for our major ground handling business unit in Jeddah .. full automation of our operations process with state-of-the-art manpower optimization solution and mobility devices, and we used IoT to schedule, operate and monitor our equipment’s in the airport efficiently. n SAP project is progressing as per plan despite the fact we took the challenge to get

Artificial intelligence (AI) with its different technology like Machine learning, Natural Language processing & IoT , in addition to Augmented Analytics and Blockchain are very attractive to me and I am enjoying exploring them and trying to figure out the best way to benefit from them in our business. For example, for our ground handling solution we are using Machine learning to improve our manpower optimization algorithm and we are using IoT by installing On-ground board Unit on all our chargable equipment’s in the airport to enable the system to communicate with the equipment’s and know their status to schedule them automatically to serve fights as needed in addition to keep track of their usage. This will provide our customers with better services and improve our revenue as well.

How active are you as a CIO/ IT head on social media platforms? Do you find them a good platform to share knowledge or has it become too monotonous? Unfortunately, I am not active on social media not because I don’t believe on them but because I am quite busy and couldn’t allocate the proper time. I admit this is one of my shortfalls.

What is your 2019 resolution? (if at all you are a ‘Resolutionmaking’ person) What goals do you have for your organization? In 2019, we will continue the implementation of our IT digital transformation plan with more focus on business value of IT by providing business cost optimization and shaping business models.

ANTO PIUS, MANAGER - IT, ASTER DM HEALTHCARE - QATAR

Tell us about the year 2018. What changes/evolution did it bring to your thinking or mindset as a CIO/IT head? 2018 made me more aggressive and calculative forcing me to make strategies based on unique requirements in the middle east with regards to healthcare IT. IT Heads have a tremendous opportunity to reinvent their role each year and transform it from enabler to innovator and we can lead or help transform their firms to exploit technology

n Yes I could take big strides towards the resolutions I made for the year in terms initiatives taken to make my organization paperless by having patient records maintained digitally. Our efforts have allowed us to reduce 80 % of paper we use for clinical records. n Medical imaging is an integral part of the diagnostic process. Enhanced medical equipment are smarter for digital transformation to radiologists need and its use medical imaging to properly diagnose and treat diseases, one of the clinical decision making support system which is achieved.

results faster, and examinations more precise.

In contrast, which technology of 2018 did you find futile/ nonrelevant for the present and why? Technology changes all the time. Just because it wasn’t capable of carrying out certain tasks doesn’t mean that the same will hold true in the future. Due to the rapid pace of technological advancement, we should understand the need and choose the right technology.

How active are you as a CIO/IT head on social media platforms? Do you find them a good platform to share knowledge or has it become too monotonous? It essential to be active in social media I personally prefer yammer for an organization and LinkedIn as it add more value to my professional need. Social media enables you to share ideas, content, information at a much faster speed and it’s not a monotonous.

In brief, which technology of 2018 attracted you the most? Have you planned to implement the same in your organization?

What is your 2019 resolution? What goals do you have for your organization?

n Cloud Computing : Being a Healthcare industry we always maintain the data in our own data center with private cloud with secure access based on hierarchy, but with cloud computing, you eliminate managing hardware and software — that becomes the responsibility of an experienced vendor who have qualified technical team. Other than electronic medical record we use the public cloud for appointments, online feedback which makes our clients to engage with products by tracking their interactions with digital devices. n Artificial Intelligence (AI) is key to realizing the transformation toward valuebased healthcare. AI can help to make medical equipment smarter, imaging and lab

n Centralize Patient Database make available between the public and private centers to improve the quality of patient care across Qatar, n PACS to strengthen further to enhance to share the DICOM quality images to all mobile device without compromise on image quality. n To leverage laboratory data to make available for scientific and research purpose n Qatar is the first available 5G network in the world, to leverage 5G benefit in healthcare IT by telehealth and remote home monitoring systems. n Enterprises HRMS in coordinate with headquarters to help leadership to have a better dashboard visibility on resources management and strategies.

ORGANIZED

WITH NEW GOALS “Getting right information at the right time is the name of the game, which enable the management to take right decision at the right time”

Tell us about the year 2018. What changes/evolution did it bring to your thinking or mindset as a CIO/IT head? Well, 2018 was a challenging year for me and I think it is the same of all other IT heads. Protecting our IT infrastructure from ransom attacks and intrusion has become challenging. Moving forward, we all will understand that current technology is not safe; for example SSL was considered as a most secured protocol until recent days. However, all companies are moving from SSL to TSL2.0 believing that SSL is no more secure and the challenging part is, in order to cope with the new systems we need to change our infrastructure which is expensive and time consuming.

Were you able to stick to your New Year resolutions? Did you achieve/over achieve/ under achieve? Making New Year resolution is corresponding to having a pre-defined plan for the year 2018. But many a times, situations change and hence priority too. My plan for 2018 was to prepare for the VAT implementation in our property, and I am confident that I am ready to handle. However in Kuwait, the implementation of VAT is not confirmed yet by the official authorities.

In brief, which technology of 2018 attracted you the most? Have you planned to implement the same in your organization? There are many new buzz words, like AI, digital transformation, Robotic service etc. Being an hotelier I always look for technologies that help our guest to feel comfortable and will help them to achieve their expectations. Many hotels have started to introduce technologies, such as Robots to serve in room service orders. I am sure introducing such services in Kuwait will be a positive and new approach to the market.

In contrast, which technology of 2018 did you find futile/ non-relevant for the present and why? All technology emerged so far have its own merits and some are getting wide acceptance based on particular domain which have advantages using those technologies. Virtual Reality is doing wonders in Gaming field but as hospitality concerned I am not sure how much it can contribute to the industry.

How active are you as a CIO/ IT head on social media platforms? Do you find them a

good platform to share knowledge or has it become too monotonous? Social media have 2 sides just like a coin. It is good and as well on the same time it is bad, it all depends on the way you look into social media and it makes big difference. It is the era of digital transformation and you can see you are getting dozens of offers on your smart phone i.e; WhatsApp, popup messages, Facebook etc.. it is the time for digital marketing. On business perspective organizations cannot move forward without social media presence. Any customer oriented business depends on social media for many activities such as, market presence, feedback from customer, marketing activities etc.

What is your 2019 resolution? (if at all you are a ‘Resolutionmaking’ person) What goals do you have for your organization? Well, getting right information at the right time is the name of the game, which enables the management to take right decision at the right time. As far as I am concerned about my organization, bringing Business Intelligence to our organization is the major resolution for 2019. I am sure it is not a difficult task having a wonderful, supportive colleagues and management.

different market segments and diversifying our business lines. A re-branding exercise for one of our existing business line given us vide horizons for technological enhancements in this year 2018.

Were you able to stick to your New year resolutions? Did you achieve/overachieve/ underachieve?

ROY JOSEPH, IT DIRECTOR SAFIR HOTELS & RESORTS - KUWAIT

Tell us about the year 2018. What changes/evolution did it bring to your thinking or mindset as a CIO/IT head? Well, the year 2018 is better than 2017, it had a turning point from the financial turmoil at this region especially in our business line. The business is getting its pace. This opportunity provided us the energy to think and diversify our business lines. As Technology is leading the way of how business is done at these days, we are enhancing our technological platforms utilizing the situation. We are entering into

30

THE TITANS

DECEMBER 2018

Our plans are based on the strategic objectives and linked with Departmental KPI’s, indeed YES, I have achieved 100% the promise that made. As I mentioned earlier, as business is getting its pace, the power of investing in Information Technology increases compared to last years that gave us a positive impact. Thus, I was able to deliver my promises.

In brief, which technology of 2018 attracted you the most? Have you planned to implement the same in your organization? The technology that attracted me this year is Big Data / Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence. Guarding millions of Data records / spending thousands to preserve& protect those, at the same time properly utilizing the power of it in the business is the name of the game. We have laid the base of those and will be capitalizing it in the coming years. IT security was given more attention in 2018 when it comes to Kuwait Hotels Company, and we implemented a security policy in a centralized manner interconnection all its business units across the MENA region. This year we are given more priority in implementing IT security systems, policy and procedures. Bringing Hyper convergence on the infrastructure was another initiative.

In contrast, which technology of 2018 did you find futile/ non-relevant for the present and

why? The IOT was much prophesized in the year 2018, though it has not seen the hype it brought to the marketplace. The lack of security measures included in the devices being part of IOT is an area to be looked in to, as I understand this was given low priority hence it becomes a bottleneck to this technology. The IoT devices should improve security as an embedded technology so that the IoT concept can move into a different phase and pick up the momentum.

How active are you as a CIO/ IT head on social media platforms? Do you find them an excellent platform to share knowledge or has it become too monotonous? Social media is ruling over the traditional media’s in many ways, and it also provides many cool features to attract and make it free for its users. Since the mobile / online culture is evolving, it is inevitable for business to be present at the social media spectrum. Many professionals also take this as the opportunity to propagate their profiles and doing self-marketing. However, I use it in a limited manner. Sharing knowledge through social media is an effective way, it changed the direction of knowledge transfer, now knowledge is at the fingertips, YouTube a famous example for the same. I find them as an excelled resource for knowledge sharing.

What is your 2019 resolution? What goals do you have for your organization? I hope 2019 will be a better year than 2018, need to lead the IT function as a business enabler for my organization. We have planned for many expansions in our F&B division. As the head of the IT department, I wanted to ensure that the best systems are implemented with the right security and maintain it with the right people.
