OENE-WIM STALLINGA MARKETING DIRECTOR, NEXANS CABLING SOLUTIONS

PRESIDENT, REDINGTON VALUE DISTRIBUTION

“The GITEX theme: re-imagining realities fits in very well with what is going on in our organization internally, we are re-imaging our business from being a value-added distributor we are focused on pushing the technologies across for our vendors and engaging in pre-sales, post sales, proof of concepts etc. We are also re-imaging our business by expanding our scope and getting involved much before the whole decision making cycle of end customers and in that regard we have announced a consulting arm called Uniplum, which is going to consult primarily on cloud- cloud transformation, cloud design and cloud delivery and also in areas like big data and IoT. In this sense we are re-imaging our roles for our channel partners whereby we not only become technology associated service providers but also we become their consulting partner and an agent to be relevant in the area of changing consumption which is becoming more on cloud rather on-premises. For 2017 we are primarily looking at upscaling our partners from playing a role of infrastructure service providers to moving into more cloud service providers. Our roadmap is focused on channel enablement, re-engineering the channel go-to market, channel training and also marketing will play a key role in helping the channel becoming relevant in the changing technology landscape.”

FOCUS: DATA MANAGEMENT

GRAHAM PORTER,

MENA CHANNEL SALES MANAGER, NETAPP

NetApp is showcasing its latest solutions and services that enable users to seamlessly manage data across different IT platforms, at GITEX Technology Week. Mr. Graham Porter, MENA Channel Sales Manager, NetApp explains that people normally struggle with the question that what exactly can be done with data? A lot of people are looking at cloud, the cloud adoption in the region has been comparatively slow, for NetApp uses hybrid cloud strategy is very important. A lot of people have the perception that storage vendors provide hard disk drives but what we are interested in is data management; a software that enables one to move the data format along with backing it up and compressing it. He said, “We became number two worldwide in Flash last year. The flash is a fraction of a size and we can now get a petabyte of storage in a small rack as small as two pizza boxes. The attractive prices, high performance and it is quicker which makes Flash extremely catchy. We bought a company called SolidFire for $870million dollars in November, which works with telco operators and cloud providers where they have numerous applications and customers running on the same box.” NetApp’s GITEX focus is on flash, cloud, converged infrastructure and software-defined storage and NetApp is excited to connect with new prospects, further developing brand awareness expressed Graham.

DIGITALLY TRANSFORMING BUSINESSES KENAN ABOU LTEIF,

REGIONAL DIRECTOR, CITRIX MENA

“This year we chose to participate with Microsoft because we always had an alliance with Microsoft. Microsoft being an organization leading in innovation in IT, this partnership is second year in a row. Cirtix being a leader in end user computing where we virtualize desktops and application makes it perfect fit when it comes to integrating with the Azure cloud that Microsoft has, so our customer instead of investing on their own infrastructure for desktop management and so on, instead they can host it on the Microsoft Azure cloud and that would save them considerable amount of CAPEX and make the deployment easier and faster which leads to a faster ROI. This why we felt that our GO-TO- MARKET approach for us is to collaborate with Microsoft, as the people are more open to the cloud concept and the public cloud concept.”
