HYPERVSN LAUNCHES IN UAE AT GITEX

HH SHEIKH MOHAMMED VISITS DELL TECHNOLOGIES STAND By 2050, the world population is estimated to reach 10 billion people, compared to 7.3 billion today. Most of that increase will happen in cities, with experts forecasting the urban population to double by then. This demographic boom, already very visible today in many parts of the world, comes with big challenges that could lead to chaos, unless local governments, together with their communities, step up and work on innovative solutions. In alignment with the ambitious vision of UAE leadership, Dell EMC brings innovation to government organizations of all sizes so that they and their citizens can transform and thrive in the digital city. Becoming a digital entity means transforming operating models, people, and processes, as well

as IT. Dell EMC uniquely powers this digital transformation by delivering best-in-class technology for applications, data, infrastructure, and security – from the edge to the core to the cloud. Collectively, under the banner of Dell Technologies, Dell, Dell EMC, Pivotal, RSA, SecureWorks, Virtustream, and VMware align to deliver a singular goal: helping governments transform the way they work, so they can transform the lives of the citizens they serve. At GITEX 2018, Dell EMC revealed the findings of its recent Dell Technologies Digital Transformation Index (the DT Index). The DT Index, which was completed in collaboration with Intel, maps digital transformation progress of mid to large-sized companies and

examines the digital hopes and fears of business leaders. Based on responses from business leaders in the UAE and KSA, only four per cent of these businesses see themselves as Digital Leaders. 87 per cent agree or strongly agree that digital transformation initiatives need to be even more wide-spread throughout their organisations. While there is minimal growth in the Digital Leadership group, the Digital Transformation Index has tracked dynamic movement across other groups. For instance, 27% of businesses now are categorised as Digital Adopters (a rise from 12% in 2016). These companies have advanced digital plans and innovations in place to power their transformation.

HYPERVSN, the world’s only fully integrated 3D holographic display system, has announced its launch into the UAE market. The company, which is currently displaying its technology at this year’s GITEX - the largest technology show in the Middle East, Africa & South Asia - has revealed plans to extend the rollout across the UAE following the launch. GITEX delegates are witnessing how HYPERVSN’s platforms redefine the viewing experience by creating the highest quality holographic visuals. The holographic shows feature a variety of content, including local landmarks such as Burj Khalifa, Burj AL Arab and more. Art Stavenka, co-founder, HYPERVSN said: “The UAE market and its boundless opportunities to incorporate our innovative technology within sectors such as luxury and retail, excites us. Brands here are constantly looking for ways to creatively communicate with their audiences and we can offer them that solution through our technology.” The revolutionary technology allows 3D visuals to appear as though floating in mid-air, enabling content to be perceived by viewers as hi-resolution 3D holograms. HYPERVSN is made up of individual projection units and a proprietary management platform that allows the user to manage many devices remotely from a single location.

NAIZAK DISTRIBUTION: REDEFINING VALUE Established in 1998, Naizak Distribution is a subsidiary of Al Abdulkarim Holding Group and has a wide coverage in the Middle East, Asia & Europe with help of its partner companies. Naizak is a totally customer driven, local services organization, with a deliberate policy of heavy investment in staff of a very high caliber and specialization. Naizak maintains a network of offices in Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates through the Abdulkarim Trading Establishment. Mustafa Fakhri, Channel and Business Development manager of Naizak says, “We started our journey as a service arm to our vendors. We began with servicing the solution that we sold and this has been a key differentiating factor. This is the value proposition that we offered to the client. We also provide consultancy, pre-sales services, post-sales support and training and we also have authorized training centers for the vendors. Thus, we provide a 360-degree service to the customes.” Naizak has two key domains – Cyber security and Infrastructure (which is an amalgamation of storage and surveillance) In security, Naizak has three major vendors— Sophos, Malwarebytes and Vectra. In Infrastructure, the key vendors are Kemp , Overland Tandberg data etc. Mustafa says that, IT is rapidly transforming and beckoning a digital age. “The requirement is the same. Everybody wants to automate the process and make it secure. Security has become a core over the time but simplifying security is the key.”

TENABLE: VISIBILITY 360 2018 has been an exciting year for Tenable. David Cummins, VP Sales EMEA says that the company has expanded organically in the region and they have seen an uptake demand in the solutions that they offer. “We have

PIVOT3: SETTING NEW PRIORITIES For Pivot3, GITEX 2018 is all about going a mile further in redefining its technology and channel portfolio. Pivot3’s spotlight is on its Hybrid cloud offering. Anand Chakravarthi, Area VP of Pivot3 says, “A majority of the organizations have not truly realized the value that hybrid cloud can bring to their business models. It is nothing but a seamless movement of virtual machines from edge to central to

also seen an evolution in the region and in the customer mindset. Organizations have started taking cyber security to a new level and we are happy that Tenable is able to leverage this evolution.” David says that, today, CISOs have started taking a step back and pondering over the fundamental aspects of their cyber security framework and what critical assets are on their network, how they are configured, how they can protect those assets. “Tenable is in a unique position to offer that platform that gives you full visibility of your network and can also tell you where you have issues in the network. We are truly a fundamental building block of a customer’s cyber security framework,” adds David. According to David, nine out of ten customers that they talk to have a digital transformation strategy in place. The fundamental of this strategy is to have the ability to cope with the variety of environments that the customers want to operate in. “As the evolution continues, Tenable is able to monitor the environment, regardless of which network the asset is connected to.”

cloud. With this model, we are able to help the organizations better manage their costs and have an optimized infrastructure. When it comes to enterprise cloud adoption, workload mobility – the ability to move applications and their associated data to a new environment with zero or very limited downtime – is often a missing piece of the technology puzzle. Cloud environments tend to be very unique and different from on-premises and hypervisor environments, and by nature of their business model, cloud vendors lack incentive to make it easy for customers to move workloads out and into other environments. The HCI vendor is also expanding its footprint in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia with its recent signup with a leading VAD in the region at GITEX. The company will be soon making an official announcement on the same. “KSA is a very big market for us and we see a huge potential there. This partnership will further help us bolstering our presence in the region.”

For 2019, Shafi has three priorities; Expand in the MEA region with a local presence; Extensive R&D and work more on RPA, analytics and automation solutions; embark on a complete transformation journey in redefining customer experience.

STROMASYS: SOFTWARE EMULATION Headquartered in Geneva, Stromasys provides enterprise-class crossplatform virtualization solutions, including PDP-11, Digital VAX and Alpha, HP 3000, and SPARC servers. The company extends the life cycle of business and missioncritical systems through virtualization, modernization, and system enhancement. Myriam Khan, Marketing Director EMEA of Stromasys says, “We have been in this market since two decades but our offerings are very niche. Our core product is software

emulator that emulates old hardware and legacy systems. With our Cross-Platform Server Virtualization solutions, you simply swap out the aging hardware with a virtualized environment and move the software stack to increase performance, lower cost and reduce risk – all at once, and in a matter of days.” Myriam says that the company has been very prominent in the west, but in the past few years Middle East has also been a growing market for them. “Our go-to-market strategy has been dependent

on local and regional partners. We work with local distributors and also have a good customer base in the region— Thuraya being one of them.” AT GITEX, apart from the existing products, the company is showcasing their cloud solutions as well. “We have been trying to push our cloud solutions. With these solutions, customers can transfer all their mission critical applications using our emulation solution into the cloud. We work with all major cloud solution providers.”

EMERGENT TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND SOLGARI JOIN HANDS Emergent Telecommunications have partnered with Solgari to bring in Solgari services to local corporates & SMEs. Solgari provides our customers in 34 countries to date all the digital communication channels – including voice, video, chat, SMS, etc – in the cloud, while automatically addressing local and international compliance requirements through a per user per month SaaS model. Edward Grant, Chief Financial Officer for Solgari says – “We deliver to our

customers all the different communication channels such as voice, video, SMS, etc. The corporates can run all communications on single cloud instead of using multiple solutions. At least 50% of the cost savings with a per user per month SaaS model vs the alternative of using multiple vendors.” Emergent Telecommunications is witnessing significant business demand for cloud-based communications. Hasan Bokhari, Group Chairman of HB International (holding

group of Emergent Telecommunications) commented – “Partnering with Solgari for cloud OTT services will provide an enhanced user experience. Countries like Pakistan are experiencing a major leap forward to some of the technologies. This creates the opportunity to deliver modern communication solutions such as Cloud Business Communications across the top of these networks to fast growing SMEs and corporates.”

NETAPP: IN-LINE WITH THE GITEX THEME In response to the growing market demand for advanced AI solutions, NetApp is showcasing their AI offering which also comes in-line with the theme of GITEX – ‘Experience Future Urbanism’. “With AI initiatives and focus from Dubai in general, we are privileged to take our AI offering to the market today,” says Maya Zakhour, Head of Distribution & Alliances – MEA, NetApp. Talking about their channel strategy, Maya explains how their distributors are fully fledged in supporting their strategy. “This year, we

worked very closely with our distributors. Our distributors are also fully fledged and helping our strategy. So mainly, it is to have our partners enabled of our latest technology and it is very important to understand how they can do business with NetApp by aligning with our 3 big pillars which is – we are no more only a storage vendor; we have our HCI offering and as well as our cloud volumes. So, our channel strategy would be to align their business with one of these or all the 3 big pillars. We also have our unified

partner program which puts the partners into different levels of partnerships. Depending on the level of partnership, our partners would enjoy support and benefit from our side. We have cloudfirst program which is to align with our cloud offering and IGP or Innovation for Growth Program.” At GITEX, NetApp signed PNY. The company is doing excellent and has lot of initiatives and innovations to bring to the market with partners and customers. To know more, visit their stand at GITEX.

SPECIALIZED IN END-TO-END SOLUTIONS ACROSS INFORMATION SECURITY gaining popularity as well.

Tell us about your major partnerships. We have our traditional vendors who have always stayed on top like LogRhythm, Tenable, and new vendors like Flashpoint who bring in threat intelligence. Crowdstrike is yet another vendor that we are bullish on this year because of the EDR platform that they bring on the cloud.

How is Spectrami aligning with the GITEX tagline – ‘Experience Future Urbanism’? ‘Future Urbanism’ is a very interesting term. Urbanism for me is more about getting connected and getting things automated and that’s where big data comes into picture. Platforms like IoT are a part of the urbanization platform and that’s where we are playing a very important role in ensuring that every small bit of cybersecurity that we do, can add to the urbanization.

How has GITEX been this year?

What are you plans for the year 2019?

GITEX has been amazing as always. This platform is about networking, gaining visibility into the future and having the knowledge of current trends. It’s a great platform to network and connect with people and bring new ideas. It also gives a pulse of what is happening in the market. GITEX for us is still about cybersecurity and niche technologies. Threat intelligence is

As a business, we have grown exponentially well. We are very fortunate to be in the space that is very demanding and is still invested by the customers. Landing with the right partners and providing new technologies to customers will be our focus. Towards the end of GITEX, we should be announcing some new partnerships.
