ARUBA TO SHOWCASE ITS ‘EXPERIENCE EDGE PLATFORM’ FOR THE DIGITAL ERA AT GITEX 2019

AVAYA TO SHOWCASE THE ROUTE TO DELIVERING EXPERIENCES

Aruba is participating at GITEX Technology Week. In its 10th appearance at GITEX, the company will be demonstrating its revolutionary Aruba Experience Edge Platform – that intuitively assimilates existing cloud, mobile and Internet of Things (IoT) data into a simple, single system to transform customer experiences at the Edge. Commenting on the company’s participation at GITEX, Jacob Chacko, Regional Business Head - Middle East & Saudi at Aruba says, “Aruba’s Edge platform is designed to provide simple, secure and smart networking, to support integrated experiences without compromising simplicity for end users. Smart workplaces, schools, stores, hotels, hospitals, and factories can all deliver amazing experiences through this platform. GITEX, with its position as the Middle East’s largest tech exhibition and networking platform, is the perfect venue for us to showcase our technology innovations and drive key discussions with customers and partners.”

Ninety-three percent of global organizations identify Artificial Intelligence (AI) as one of the most important technologies in 2019 , while software-as-a-service spending in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is set to grow by over 25 percent . Having recognized these trends, at GITEX 2018, Avaya showcased its vision for bringing customer-centric innovation, in these technology areas, to market. The company is now set to continue helping enable businesses to realize the full potential of this vision at the 2019 edition of the MENA region’s largest technology trade show. “Successfully delivering incredible customer experiences, requires a discipline, openness and sense of collaboration usually reserved for the highest forms of art,” said Nidal Abou-Ltaif, President, Avaya international. “The creation of art requires nurturing a basic concept into a fully formed masterpiece, through the integration and interplay of multiple elements. Avaya’s approach to innovation closely mirrors this. The path-breaking solutions and use-cases we are bringing to GITEX are the realization of ideas that have stemmed from the synergy, and deep co-creation process with our customers and technology partners. These therefore have the ability to help drive incredible benefits–whether it is in delivering exceptional enterprise experiences, dramatically enhancing workforce productivity, empowering people of determination or much more.”

BITDEFENDER TO SHINE SPOTLIGHT ON IOT SECURITY AT GITEX 2019 Bitdefender plans to use the MENA region’s premier technology tradeshow as a platform to discuss the most critical threats associated with IoT and demonstrate to customers and partners unique solutions to protect IoT infrastructures that are increasingly more exposed to cyberthreats. Tarek Kuzbari, regional director, Middle East, at Bitdefender said, “Given the region’s appetite for technology and innovation, governments and enterprises across the Middle East are increasingly turning to cloud environments and IoT applications to transform their operations and achieve growth. But at the same time, it is imperative that these same organizations also realize the security implications associated with these initiatives.”

CENTRIFY TO HIGHLIGHT THE ROLE OF PRIVILEGED ACCESS MANAGEMENT IN CLOUD SECURITY The company will showcase its cloud-ready Zero Trust Privilege Services and advocate how Zero Trust mandates a “never trust, always verify, enforce least privilege” approach to privileged access, from inside or outside the network. “The leading cause of most data breaches today is privileged access abuse. Cyber-attackers don’t hack in anymore — they’re logging in using weak, default, stolen, or otherwise compromised credentials, and then are moving laterally across the network to gain further privileged access to steal data while covering their tracks. Analysis of recent breaches highlights the fact that most organizations are still not prepared to protect themselves against identitybased threats. Cyber-attacks will only grow in virulence and volume until they truly prioritize Privileged Access Management. At GITEX 2019, Centrify plans to show visitors how their organizations can significantly strengthen their security posture and greatly reduce the risk of a breach by controlling privileged access and minimizing the attack surface,” says Andy Heather, General Manager EMEA, Centrify.

FOCUS SOFTNET TO SHOWCASE AI, AUTOMATION, VOICE RECOGNITION Adopting AI platforms is a key emphasis across the GCC region, which is looking at switching from a petro-based economy to a smart, efficient, automated, and highly profitable economy. This is one of the

reasons why Focus Softnet is placing the spotlight on its latest innovations in artificial intelligence at GITEX . “We are seeing large scale interest by GCC public sector and private organizations, to

reduce investment in human capital, and divert spending into automation of processes. It is for this reason that we have built our AI solutions alongside our enterprise software solutions including our ERP

and CRM suites. For other new businesses wanting to automate their business operations, they can get the benefit of both AI and ERP through our end-toend product portfolio,” Ali Hyder, CEO Focus Softnet.

FVC TO LEAD WITH ENTERPRISE COLLABORATION AT GITEX 2019 “The uptake of enterprise collaboration solutions has significantly increased owing to a rise in digital transformation initiatives across the region. Businesses of all sizes and industries are investing in ‘Smart Meeting Rooms; and ‘Huddle Spaces’ in a bid to enhance employee productivity, reduce costs and achieve better outcomes,” said K.S. Parag, Managing Director, FVC. “Although

collaboration tools have been around for more than two decades, active adoption has increased over the last few years as organizations have realised the benefits of modernizing their infrastructure to realise the benefits of connecting a distributed workforce. The popularity of co-working spaces and business hubs is also driving demand for state-of-the-art collaboration solutions to offer

mobile professionals a rich communication experience. The outlook for enterprise collaboration looks promising as businesses focus on enriching their employees’ workplace experience to boost productivity.” At GITEX, FVC will demonstrate the synergy between its collaboration and AV portfolio to deliver a truly seamless and rich communications experience.

INFINET WIRELESS TO HIGHLIGHT THE RAW POWER OF 5G AT GITEX 2019 “I think you can now say that the telecoms market has one foot in the 5G era,” said Kamal Mokrani, global vice president, InfiNet Wireless. “As a consequence, operators in the region are eager to upgrade their networks to satisfy increasingly demanding subscribers, but they also

want to keep costs down while overcoming problems such as spectrum congestion in traditional frequency bands below 6GHz, or spectrum re-farming when their ex-WiMAX spectrum is being taken away.” “At GITEX 2019, InfiNet will be unveiling several brand-new,

ALARIS BRINGS ‘BUSINESS PROCESS RE-ENGINEERING’ FOCUS Naji Kazak, General Manager - Middle East, Africa, Turkey & Russia at Alaris, a Kodak Alaris business says, “Digital transformation is high on every CIOs agenda today. However, we find that a gap still exists between digitisation and automation. There are plenty of business process workflows out there that are digitised but not yet fully automated. We still see lots of steps, lots of hands on a process from start to finish, and every one of those interactions costs money, opens up compliance risks and introduces errors.”

industry-first mmWave-band solutions that will help telecom and enterprise customers enhance their connectivity speeds and capacities, significantly raise service levels, and stand out from the crowd,” continued Kamal. Axion 28 is InfiNet’s latest breakthrough in wireless

broadband access within the 28 GHz band. The new family of solutions, which will be unveiled at the company’s GITEX 2019 stand, is designed for the deployment of high-density multipoint networks that deliver performance up to 1,200 Mbps in the 56 MHz band. networks in remote areas.

NEXTHINK TO SHOWCASE ITS LATEST INNOVATIONS AT GITEX 2019 The company will demonstrate the need for organizations to understand employees’ experiences during digital transformation projects to achieve business objectives and avoid costly project failures. According to reports1, enterprises will spend almost $2 trillion annually on digital transformation strategies by 2022. “Many new technology initiatives fail because employees aren’t involved in the strategy phase – this is because IT departments do not have a good enough understanding of what’s needed for employees to do their jobs,” said Maged Eid, Area VP - META, Nexthink. “Nexthink’s technology provides real-time visibility and insights that enables an organization’s IT department to take a proactive approach to improving its IT performance and resolving potential problems quickly. This helps foster a positive employee experience and boost productivity.”

SOPHOS TO SHOWCASE ITS LATEST CYBERSECURITY INNOVATIONS AT GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2019 Sophos will showcase its latest cybersecurity innovations at GITEX Technology Week 2019, firms be able to hear more about Sophos’ endpoint and network security solutions that are powered by deep learning and synchronized security and help organizations of all sizes battle today’s ever changing threat landscape. “Organizations do not have the resources to combat cyber threats like malware, exploits, ransomware and automated, active attacks. Moreover, our research shows the lack of visibility, protection and response capability in the IT security of organizations globally. Under such circumstances businesses need intelligent security solutions that are predictive, multi-layered, and can work together as a system,” said Harish Chib, vice president, Middle East and Africa, Sophos. “GITEX offers us a great opportunity to demonstrate why every organization needs security that is innovative, integrated and scalable and how next-gen cybersecurity protection from Sophos proactively protects against sophisticated threats. It is also an ideal platform for us to meet partners and develop new partnerships that will strengthen the Middle East channel.”

PROOFPOINT’S ANNUAL HUMAN FACTOR REPORT DETAILS TOP CYBERCRIMINAL TRENDS “As technology evolves, cyber-attacks also become more sophisticated. Threat actors focus on people, their roles within an organization, and even their likelihood to “click here”. The report illustrates that the most popular times that people click on links show significant regional differences, for example, Middle Eastern and European users are more likely to click at midday, after lunch and into the late evening, likely reflecting the time shifting necessary to do business with North American organizations and colleagues,” said Emile Abou Saleh, Regional Director, Middle East and Africa for Proofpoint. . “More than 99 percent of cyberattacks rely on human interaction to work— making individual users the last line of defense. To significantly reduce risk, organizations need a holistic people-centric cybersecurity approach that includes effective security awareness training and layered defenses that provide visibility into their most attacked users.”

RING TO PROMOTE INNOVATIVE HOME SECURITY PRODUCTS AND SOLUTIONS

“Ring’s mission to make neighbourhoods safer drives every decision we make. Your house is more than just four walls, it’s your home.
