Its main objective is to facilitateopenandconfidentialdiscussionson globaltrendsinforeigndirectinvestment(FDI), capital attraction, and public-private cooperation to boost cross-border investment projects.
During the event, key topics discussed included global trends in foreign direct investment (FDI), international expansion and site selection by corporate leaders, measuring FDI performance, and the growing relationship betweenequityinvestmentandFDI.
Kennya Vargas Maldonado, represented ProBaja Trade & investment as a guest, attended. We are deeply grateful for the invitation that allowed us to meet the group and share ideas about the profession and investmentopportunities.
We extend our thanks to Cathy Dawson, Founder of FDI Leaders Network, and our host Rick Christiaanse, CEO of Invest Alberta, for their warm hospitality, welcome gifts, tour of theregionandalltheirattentions, whichmade thismeetinganenrichingexperience.

FENDER VISIT TO COMPANIES

As part of the retention visits carried out jointly with the State Secretariat of Economy and Innovation, this month we visited the company Hutchinson Seal, a world leader in rubber solutions for various industries such as automotive, aerospace and defense. At this meeting, topics of capabilities and supply were addressed. We appreciate the welcome and attention. Kennya Vargas, Director, and Ushuaia Zepeda, Promoter, attended on behalf of Ensenada EDC. Enrique Rodríguez attended on behalfofSEI.

Inaddition, withintheframeworkoftheBusinessWeekof the Universidad Iberoamericana de Tijuana, students of Business Administration, International Business and Engineering took a tour of some of the representative sectors of Ensenada. During the visit, we had the opportunity to visit the Fender plant, where we were explained the complete manufacturing process of its renowned musical instruments. We also visited ASIPONA, wherewereceivedapresentationontheoperationofthe PortofEnsenada, andSeatCoversUnlimited, acompany dedicated to the development of automotive textiles, wherewetoureditsfacilities.

Optical fiber has been used since the 1970s for telephony purposes In later years it revolutionized communications by transferring unprecedented amounts of data over transoceanic cables and now efficiently delivers internettoanyhome.Butitisinindustrywhere it can really change the rules of the game through its use in Passive Optical Local Area Networks (POL). While copper is becoming more expensive, methods of producing optical fiber have been optimized making it more affordable.
What strategic advantages would it bring to your company to renew its communications infrastructurewithafiberopticnetwork?:
Operatingcost:MuchofaPOLnetworkismade upofpassiveopticaldevices, meaningtheydo not require power They also do not produce heat, so no refrigerated rooms are required. This means that POL networks consume significantly less energy compared to traditionalLANnetworks, minimizingcosts.
Physical Infrastructure and Management: By using a passive optical architecture, fewer cables and management equipment are needed, which dramatically reduces installation and maintenance costs. POL transfersmultiplesimultaneousservices(voice, video, and data) over a single fiber, simplifying managementandmonitoring.Administrationis significantly simpler. If your organization's IT staff already operates a LAN, a POL will provide a more intuitive, versatile, and powerful environment.
Scalability and sustainability: Fiber optics allow for easy network expansion, allowing digital infrastructure to grow as needed. The reduction in energy and materials usage makes POL networks a greener option. This can help businesses meet their sustainability and corporate social responsibility goals. Fiber optics also has an average lifespan of 30 years, a big improvement over structured cabling, which lasts 8-10 years.
Bandwidth and Future-Proof: Fiber supports much higher speeds than traditional copper cabling, enabling a better response to growing data demands. Fiber provides an infrastructure that is ready for future technological improvements and new applications without the need to replace fiber cabling already in place.
Security:A fiber optic network is much more difficult to intercept than copper, which offers greater security for the transmission of critical data. It also has fewer access and distribution points that could be attacked.
Reliability: Optical fiber is immune to electromagnetic and radio frequency interference, which improves network reliability and reduces the risk of interruptions. Passive technology reduces the number of active electronic components in the network, decreasing the likelihood of failures
Space:The reduced amount of equipment required frees up space in server rooms and office layouts, allowing physical space to be optimized by requiring fewer racks and management equipment.
IIoT
Operation and
Support:
Optical system users experience lower latency and more stable connectivity, improving efficiency and productivity. POL networks are a prerequisite for new global standards to support the growing adoption of Industrial Internet of Things devices, facilitating the interconnection of actuators, sensors and robotics on production lines
Implementation: As if all of the above were not enough to make a decision, we will emphasize that implementing a POL network can have an equivalent or even lower cost compared to that of a conventional LAN.

Ataglance, thedifferencesbetweenthe two technologies are dramatic. In the first photo, a data room in a conventional network. In the second image, the simplicity of a POL network Despite its obvious simplicity, it can transferexponentiallylargeramountsof data at higher speeds and connect to more terminal devices simultaneously. And, comparing the installation space required, a room full of equipment can be replaced by a data center smaller thanachair
