OnFriday,April5,alongsidetheSecretaryof Economy and Innovation, we visited Advancio, a company dedicated to technological talent, where we met with its co-founder Karim Jernite and the head of innovationlaboratories,DavidPringle,totalk about their strategies to strengthen and develop local talent for the IT industry. This meetingwasattendedbyEnriqueRodriguez from SEI and Ushuaia Zepeda from EnsenadaEDC.

CORONA DEL VALLE

Teaming up with the State Secretary of EconomyandInnovation,onFriday,April 12, we visited Corona del Valle, a 9 years-old winery in Ensenada. During this visit we talked about the company ' s capabilities, future projects and how we canstrengthenthisimportantindustry.

We thank Lic. Sahian Sández for his hospitality. Enrique Rodriguez attended on behalf of SEI and Ushuaia Zepeda fromtheEnsenadaEDC.

FENDER COMPANY VISITS

ENSENADA TECHNOLOGICAL INSTITUTE

On Wednesday, April 24, we visited the InstitutoTecnológicodeEnsenada,wherewe talkedaboutthetalentinourregion,whichis of great value- added to the promotion of Ensenada. We thank Mtro. Valentín Arquímedes,DirectorofITE,forhavingus.The meeting was attended by President Mario A. Peregrina and Ushuaia Zepeda, Chairman and Promoter of the Ensenada EDC, and Dulce Rodríguez and Enrique Rodríguez, from theSecretaryofEconomy.ofBajaCalifornia.

MAGLEN RESORT

On Friday, April 26, alongside the Secretary of Economy and Innovation, we visited Maglén Resort, the largest hotel complex in Valle de Guadalupe, which has two restaurants, a winery, a specialty coffee shop and a brewery. In this visit we talked aboutitscapabilitiesandfutureprojects.

WethankAnaOrozcoforhavingus.Ushuaia Zepeda, Ensenada EDC Promoter, and Enrique Rodriguez from SEI attended this meeting.

TAIWÁN- SOUTH KOREA- JAPAN

This tour was in collaboration with the ProBaja Trade&investment initiative, together with Secretary Kurt Honold and Undersecretary Rodolfo Andrade of the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation of Baja California, and the presidents of the main Universities of our State, represented by Dr. Fernando Leon Garcia (CETYS), Dr. Luis Enrique Palafox (UABC), Mtro. Salvador Morales (UTT) and Mtro. Florentino BadialHernández(IBERO).

We begun the agenda in Taipei, Taiwan focused on the semiconductor sector and where we meet with companies and associationssuchasASEandFoxconn. Subsequently,thetourcontinuedinSouthKorea, where the Hon. Ambassador Carlos Peñafiel Soto and his team accompanied us to various meetings with companies, such as LT Precision andSamsung.

ThenextpartofthistourwasinJapan,wherewe visited companies such as Daikin, JETRO, Mitsubishi and Panasonic In this country, the agenda was planned together with the Hon. Melba Pría, ambassador of Mexico in Japan. At this embassy, we had 2 events, a wine and food tasting and a business seminar “Doing Business in Mexico. Different Japanese companies attended with the aim of learning more about businessopportunitiesbetweentheircountryand ourregion.

In the case of Ensenada, great interest was detectedinthedistributionofitswinesandsome seafood species, as well as in tourist experiences fromJapantoourstate.

On April 23 we received Jennifer Burge CEO of Worldwise Consulting and Julie Pettit CEO of Arizona Gateway Logistics, for a business agenda to learn more about the port and logistics topics in Ensenada in order to explore business opportunities in these sectors. We thank Grupo Logix and ASIPONA for receiving us in their establishments.

This meeting was attended by Mario A. Peregrina, President, Kennya Vargas, Director and Ushuaia Zepeda, Promoter of Ensenada EDC

OnTuesday,April16,wehadtheopportunity to receive the Hon. Maria Landa, Consul of Mexico in Mendoza Argentina. At the meeting, we presented the business opportunitiesinEnsenada.

MEETINGS

We had the opportunity to participate in the monthlymeetingofCANAINPESCA(Chamberof FishingandAquaculture),wherethePresidentof COPREEN, Mario A. Peregrina, and Director Kennya Vargas, spoke about the promotional work being done for all sectors of Ensenada, including fishing and aquaculture. On behalf of the Secretary of Economy and Innovation, Lic. DulceRodriguezpresentedthetalentroundtable program with the purpose of integrating it in Ensenada.

WemetwiththeMayorC.P.CarlosIbarraAguirre, and the Director of Economic Development Lic. ClaudetteRodriguez,inordertocollaborateand exchange information on topics of promotion and economic development, as well as to work together in different agendas together and promote our municipality through the “Ensenada’s sister cities program” and visits of international delegations to Ensenada This meeting was attended by Mario A. Peregrina, President, Keiko Nishikawa, Vice President and KennyaVargas,DirectorofEnsenadaEDC.

As part of the Sister Cities Committee of the Municipality of Ensenada, we attended a meeting in which a Broad Scope Twinning was approved with the City of Vallejo, California, United States, a city strategically located near the San Francisco Bay, which stands out for its naval history and offers an environment conducive to maritime studies. In addition, the city is involved in diversified economic areas, frommanufacturingtotourism.

SUPPLY FAIR

On April 25th we attended the inauguration of the Baja California Product Supply Fair for Carnival Cruise Line, the cruise line with the largest number of arrivals to the port of Ensenada. The event was headed by the Secretary of Tourism of Baja California. During the presentation, we were able to detect business opportunities with the cruise line to later share them with the different companies ofEnsenadabelongingtosectorssuchasfood, beverages, handicrafts, among others. We thanktheSecretaryofTourismoftheState,Mr. Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez for the invitation and we congratulate them for this great initiative.KennyaVargas,Director,attendedon behalfofEnsenadaEDC.

On April 24 we attended the inauguration of the new Paddle tennis courts at Hotel Coral & Marina, a hotel that is constantly innovating the services, facilities and amenities it offers. We appreciate the invitation to this event and wish you success in this and future projects.

Attracting direct investment to our city is the greatest opportunity we have to achieve sustained economic growth during the following years, therefore the development of strategic promotionanddevelopmentplansforthelanding ofdifferenttypesofcompanieswillbeourpriority during For the next three years of our role at the head of Ensenada EDC, we will seek to connect the different economic, social and educational sectorsofthecity,focusingonmakingthearrival of investment more friendly, transparent and professional,promotingthedifferenttangibleand intangible resources of our city of Ensenada, so thatwegofrombeingthebestkeptsecretinBaja Californiatobeingthediscoveryofthebestplace toliveanddobusiness.
