EconomicPromotion THE IMPORTANCE OF THE
PERSPECTIVES: MARIO A PEREGRINA, PRESIDENT OF ENSENADA EDC
Economicpromotionisatoolthatallowsusto positionourselvesontheagendatoboostthe economic and social development of the city andtheregion.
2024 was a year in which the Ensenada Economic Promotion Commission worked to positionEnsenadaasadestinationfordiverse investment, not only in the tourism sector, but also in other very relevant sectors that also existinthecity
Our promotional strategy began with the modification of the message outside the city, highlightingoureconomicsectors, whichare:
Manufacturing:In the automotive, aerospace, medical devices, electronics, textile, etc subsectors
Maritime:Inadditiontofishing, emphasiswas placed on experience in boat manufacturing andcargologisticscenters
Agribusiness: In addition to the primary sector, emphasis was placed on opportunities infoodprocessingandcosmetics
Hospitality: The promotion of wine was our flagship and allowed us to promote other topics such as tourist infrastructure, wellness experiences and new attractions, which have attractedtheattentionofpotentialinvestors
Technological Development: The educational offering has been key and initial investments have been achieved in software development, aswellastraininginsemiconductors.
Promotionworkisbasedoncommunicatingthe city'sstrengths,suchas:
Location:Ensenadaisthestate'slogisticscenter, the most important deep-sea port in the northwestofthecountry, connectedbyroadjust onehourfromtheborderwiththeUnitedStates, with access to the national railroad networks (25 hours) and the United States (35 hours), connection to cargo airports in Tijuana (one hour), Mexicali (25 hours) and the Ojos Negros project(halfanhour)

Human capital: The educational offer at all levels makes Ensenada a talent-generating engine, with a wide variety of careers, mainly in the areas of engineering and life sciences. The experience generated by the manufacturing centers grows every day with the consequent interest of supplier companies of those already established in the city, as well as of the same branch.
BusinessEnvironment:Oneofthestrengthsthat ismostemphasizedinthepromotionistheease of doing business in the city, or what we call “Business Friendly Environment”, the simpledirect-friendly-personal way of attending to newinvestmentsfacilitatescommunicationand makes the potential investor feel at home and triggers greater interest in learning about the opportunities.
Competitiveness: We have a continuously growing economic ecosystem (the most importantindevelopmentinthestate),wearea city that is growing and evolving. It is our responsibility to communicate the experience gainedbytheindustryestablishedinthecity,so that this generates (and is generating) greater attentionfromnewinvestors.

The breadth of the ecosystem makes the installation of new investments more attractive, because there are complements to the processes that make investors detect more opportunities.
Thanks to this promotional approach, companies in the automotive, textile, construction and software development sectors have been able to establish or expand their presence, as well as investment interest from companies in the fishing, art, aeronautics, electronics and food processing sectors, from countries such as Japan, the United States, Ireland,Canada,GermanyandsoonChina.
At the Ensenada Economic Promotion Commission, our objective is very clear: to position Ensenada as the best investment destinationintheregion.
