According to the publication by INEGI of the results of the economic data for the first quarter of the year, Baja California shows the highest economic growth (8.1%) of the states in northern Mexico compared to prepandemic levels. One of the main reasons for these results is the attraction of foreign direct investment, with Baja California being the third state nationwide with 5% investment attraction. This has motivated the development of manufacturing clusters that motivate the migration of new companies to our state. Many of these companies are integrating into the supply chain or demanding broader and more competitive support, this situation being a great opportunityfortheindustrialgrowthofthecity byattractingnewforeigninvestment.
The city of Ensenada has an Industrial Ecosystem in development but with a considerable breadth, since there are companies from different industrial sectors, some of these companies are from the automotive, aeronautical, electronic, medical products, maritime, andotherareas However, for many years the industrial growth of the city has been affected by the lack of adequate industrial spaces, this being one of the main inhibitors to achieve the landing of newinvestments, withsomeexceptions, the
The construction of industrial spaces has been organic and discretionary, without any planning. The recent publication of the Urban Development Program for Population Centers (PDUCP) of Ensenada opens up a wide range of possibilities for sustainable industrial development.
This document (although it can still be improved and developed further) provides greater legal certainty in land uses, and is a great step forward for the sustainable and harmonized planning of the city. The designation of at least three main industrial areas (in the area of El Sauzal, the eastern part-exittoOjosNegrosandmorebroadlythe southern part of the city between Chapultepec and Maneadero) is a tool that will help us to encourage the promotion and economicgrowthofthecity, startingwithreal estate investment in the development of industrialparks.
The unmatched logistical position, the current talentoffer, andthedevelopmentofnewwelldeveloped industrial parks will increase the competitiveness of our city and position us to have a greater attraction of new industrial investments.Thisisagreatopportunitywhere all economic sectors of the city can and shouldparticipateforthefutureofEnsenada.
