Cover Feature All New Show at Medieval Times Breaks from Tradition with Matriarchal Storyline Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament is ushering in a new royal ruler as the lead role in their wildly popular Central Florida production at the Orlando Castle. For the first time in the company’s 35year tradition of having a king as the sole ruler of the land, a female character made history in the company’s newest show which debuted recently in Orlando. The matriarchal move came as a result of guest feedback on the roles that women played within the fantasy story-telling production. The new queen character is a firm, but kind, ruler who inherited the throne at the passing of her father, the previous king. The role has already been unveiled at Medieval Times castles in Dallas, Chicago, New Jersey and Buena Park, Calif. to wide acclaim, with an additional four North American castles including Toronto, debuting the new show later this year, following Orlando’s launch. Tickets for the dinner and show start as low as $36.95, making it an attractive alternative for families looking for an evening of fun, or even groups of adults celebrating everything from birthdays to corporate events. “Our new queen is a sign of the times and we couldn’t be more excited to bring her to Florida,” said Doug Dorn, Medieval Times Orlando’s General Manager. “The queen is fully in-charge.
