Classical music and rock!

There was something for all music fans on Sunday at the Festival in the Park. The final day had some really cool pop, rock and classical music. The bands were fantastic, and I think it was the best day of the event.

It all began at 2 pm with Four Directions. Their guitar player is the new star of the In the House reality show. In my opinion, they were amazing. They made me want to dance!

In the evening, the festival closed with a classical concert. I think everyone there enjoyed it because I didn’t see anyone leave before the end.

The only thing I didn’t like was the food. I found it so boring. They only had sandwiches! I really wanted pizza or burgers.

Last week, we asked students at our school about their favourite sports from last term. Before we spoke to them, we talked to our PE teacher. She helped us to decide what questions to ask.

At the beginning of each day, we went to the school gym and talked to students from different years. We found out that most students loved playing football. After football, our students enjoyed having tennis and badminton lessons.

In the 1980s, pandas were endangered. There were only around 1,000 pandas left in the wild, and many people were worried.

How could people help to protect pandas?

First of all, one of the biggest problems was hunting. Many pandas were killed for their black-and-white fur. However, this was stopped by the Wildlife Protection Act in 1988. Today, pandas aren’t hunted but sometimes they are hurt by people hunting other animals.

Another problem was changes to where the panda lives. For example, many new roads and railways were built in China’s Yangtze Basin area. These stopped pandas from finding new bamboo forests.

Pandas eat between 10 and 40 kilograms of bamboo each day, so special forest areas were created for bamboo to grow. Today, people are not allowed to build in these areas.

Finally, another problem was cutting down trees to make space for farms and homes. This was stopped in some areas in 1998. This means that trees are not cut down where pandas live. Around 60 percent of wild pandas live in these special forest areas.

All of this is good news for pandas! Now, there are nearly 2,000 pandas in the wild, and they are not on the endangered list. However, we still need to protect pandas. They are still in danger from hunting and building, and we need to keep finding ways to look after them. We now know that it is possible to help pandas, and that we can do the same with other endangered animals in the future.

She’s from England, but she’s lived in other countries and can speak Spanish too. The medical centre is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., but on Mondays we open later, at 8.30 a.m., and Fridays we shut at 5.30 p.m. On Tuesdays we close at 5 p.m. for staff training. Another problem is that the pollution is very bad for the beautiful wooden buildings of Oldchester’s amazing old town. We plan to protect these amazing buildings for future generations to enjoy. One solution is to get more people to cycle in the city centre and we will be building more roads where they can do this. We are also planning to change the traffic laws so that only electric cars and trams can drive in the city centre.
