Normally, Warwick High School (WHS) band director Matthew Tenaglia brings marching band members together at the end of May to start learning marching basics in preparation for band camp later in the summer. This year was not normal. With students at home due to COVID-19 restrictions, Tenaglia began having online meetings on Tuesday evenings in June and July to talk about marching, music, and the fall drill. When the planned drill was discarded, Tenaglia asked the more than 80 band members for suggestions. “They voted on the show they wanted to do,” recalled Tenaglia, who reported that “Magical Mystery Tour - The See WHS pg 6

As a runner, Becky Link, development associate with Friendship Community, knows how 5Ks have been affected by COVID-19 restrictions. While many organized runs have been converted to virtual events, many participants, Link included, miss running in person.

So, when Link had the chance to offer input for the annual Friendship Community 5K Run/Walk, she liked the idea of offering options. “We decided to focus on the 5K and have it be both virtual and in-person,” said Link. “Anyone who wants to support us but is feeling hesitant about being in groups of people, we understand and appreciate that.” For those runners, the 5K offers See 5K Run/Walk pg 3
