It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game BY JEFF FALK
Throughout history, games have served humans as competition, recreation, socialization and a way to sharpen skills, all in the name of good fun. The Lititz Game Club takes its fun very seriously. The Lititz Game Club is a small group of local gaming
aficionados who gather regularly to play a variety of games, mostly of the tabletop variety. The members are motivated by several stimuli, but none more important than a pure love for games. “Games as a whole essentially bring joy and bring people together,” said Brent Keath, the organizer of the Lititz Game See Lititz gamers pg 2
From roots as an active social group, the Lititz Stroller Gang has grown in numbers and scope.

here are good ideas and there are better ideas. But the best ideas snowball, gain momentum, take on lives of their own. Ashley Mayer started the Lititz Stroller Gang as an exercise club, as a social club for moms. Not even she could’ve imagined what it has evolved into. “It started as moms needing community,” said Mayer, a native and resident of Lititz. “But it’s expanded beyond whatever I thought it could be at the begin-
ning. We are a Christian group. Our mission, in our heart, is to share something from the Word of God. Recently we’ve started doing more outreach work as well. We love to support other moms and their kids.” The Lititz Stroller Gang now includes almost 100 members, mostly local moms and their children and their strollers. They find it easier to walk together, about 2 miles, around 40 minutes, on the west side of Lititz, once a week. “I first envisioned the gang as an exercise group that incorpo-
rated kids with strollers,” said Mayer. “I love to exercise and stay fit. It’s kind of like a lifestyle. A lot of our moms would not show up to an exercise group. We want to get our steps in. That’s part of our mission as well. Being active is a really important part of our group.” The Lititz Stroller Gang meets every Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Lititz Springs Park, 24 N. Broad St., weather permitting. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, sometimes “The Gang” meets at Spooky Nook Sports, 75 Champ Blvd., Manheim. See Stroller gang pg 4
SCORE provides support to entrepreneurs BY JEFF FALK
The concept of entrepreneurship is a study in risk and reward. SCORE can minimize risk and maximize reward. Located at 115 E. King St., L ancaster, SCORE L ancaster-Lebanon is a local nonprofit that exists for the sole purpose of helping small businesses succeed. It fulfills its purpose through an interpersonal mentoring approach that is free to the entrepreneur. “Many people who start a
business have never run a business before,” said Cathy Bonser, chairperson of the Lancaster-Lebanon chapter of SCORE. “They have an idea that they’re passionate about. But they don’t know how to pursue the other aspects of the business. Entrepreneurs wear all the hats - human resources, marketing, accounting. It’s very demanding, and it asks them to do a lot. In life, we can be successful when we have a mentor, when we have support from the outside.” Typically, entrepreneurs get See SCORE pg 3
