SPICY PRESENTATION
The Women’s Garden Club of Lancaster County will meet on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 301 St. Thomas Road, Lancaster. The meeting, themed “Spice Up,” will delve into the origins, uses and storage of some favorite and uncommonly used spices. Following a brief business meeting and presentation, a social and fellowship tea will take place. New members and guests are invited for a fee. FRIENDSHIP DINNER

650 Juliette Ave., Lancaster, will present “Beethoven Extravaganza - Celebrating the 250th Year of Beethoven” as part of its George R. Schreck ‘47 and Barbara A. Schober ‘72 Memorial 2019-20 Concert and Lecture Series. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, and on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 5 p.m. The concerts will feature the LCHS artistsin-residence, Dr. Michael T. Jamanis on violin and Frances Veri on piano. Special guests Thor Sigurdson, cello, and Doris Hall-Gulati, clarinet, will also perform. Both performances will take place in Old Main Auditorium. As part of Lititz’s monthly Second Friday observance, United Zion Retirement Community (UZRC) will hold regular artist receptions to celebrate the 12 or more artists whose work will be exhibited in the community’s art gallery during 2020. “We’d like more people to come in and see us,” said Megan Weiss, director of marketing and development with UZRC. “It is a way to give back to the community, and let (area residents) know this art gallery is here for them,” said Weiss, who added that it is also a way to inform UZRC residents about United Zion Retirement Community CEO local artists. Lynette Morales, the Everence church relations representative who coordinates Stewardship University, wants Lancaster County residents to know that the yearly event is not just about money. “It is a day of holistic stewardship,” said Morales, who noted that the workshops offered are designed to answer questions like: What does it mean to be a good steward of the Gospel? Or of the gifts God has given me? Stewardship University 2020 will be held on Saturday, March 7,
