Middle Octorara Will Host Peach Fest T
o paraphrase a song called “Peaches” by the band The Presidents of the United States of America: Goin’ to the country, Gonna eat a lot of peaches I’m goin’ to the country, I’m gonna eat me a lot of peaches Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church is offering everyone the opportunity to do just that during its sixth annual Peach Fest. Peach Fest will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at 4 p.m. at the church, 1199 Valley Road, Quarryville. The event is free; donations will be accepted. Proceeds will benefit the church’s many charitable projects. Although the main attraction will be (you guessed it) peachthemed desserts, a light meal will also be served, featuring barbecue, hot dogs, baked beans, macaroni salad, chips, pickles, and olives.

Good’s Store in Quarryville, 333 W. 4th St., has moved into its new addition. T his move completes the first phase of a multi-year expansion project. The new addition has about 24,000 square feet of space, roughly the same as the existing store. The addition, completed on July 22, has a new entrance with a carport
There’s a great new nonprofit in Lancaster County that’s been founded by Neffsville resident Greta Myers. It’s called “Neuro Neighborhood.” “We used ‘neighborhood’ to give people a welcoming invitation to something bigger than themselves,” said Myers, who also serves as executive director of the organization. “Neighborhoods contain people who come together to support one another. We all know how important it is to have a support system, and we felt that use of the title ‘neighborhood’ would exemplify our support. “Our goal is to continue to get the word out so we can reach as many people as possible,” continued Myers. “The more people who know about the Neuro Neighborhood, the more people we can support.” Founded in March of 2025, Neuro Neighborhood is an al l - vol u nte er or ganiz at ion designed to help people dealing with neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis. Those neurological conditions can occur through injury or a deterioration of the central nervous system, which includes our brains and spinal cords. For now, Myers is operating Neuro Neighborhood out of her residence. “Spinal cord injuries or brain injuries can be caused by traumatic events to either area of our central nervous system, or lack of blood flow to that area,” said Myers. “Symptoms widely vary between neurological conditions
