Break A Leg And Join The Cast Boy Scout To Run Kids Theater Camp Jukebox,” “Bye, Bye, Birdie Jr.,” “Godspell Jr.,” and “High School Aden “AJ” Jackson, a rising senior Musical Jr.” As a student at Solanco at Solanco High School, is a man of High School, Jackson played the role many talents. He has performed in of Donkey in “Shrek the Musical,” several shows with Servant Stage Willard in “Footloose,” and the Company, including “Don’t Rock the Pirate King in “The Pirates of Penzance.” Jackson plays violin for the Solanco High School orchestra and sings in chorus and Solanco’s Chorale, an elite ensemble. He is active in Boy Scout Troop 58 and is currently working on the requirements for the Eagle Scout Award. For his Eagle Scout project, Jackson will host a free “Theatre Rocks!” kids’ camp for children ages 8 to 12. The camp will run from Monday, Aug. 9, to Thursday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at Huffnagle Park, 20 Oak Lane, Quarryville. Jackson suggests that kids bring water and a sheet for their toga costume. Camp will culminate in a performance of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” at the park on Friday, Aug. 13 at 11:30 a.m. The community is invited to attend the free performance. Midget Football Association To Host Fundraiser he Solanco Midget Football Association will host its inaugural “Barbecue and Beer” fundraising event on Saturday, Aug. 14. This rain-or-shine event will take place at the Osbornia Farm, 74 Clendenin Road., Quarryville, from 5 to 9 p.m. As a nonprofit organization, the mission of the Solanco Midget Football Association is to instruct youths in the skills of football so they can play, have fun, and make friends. One of the association’s top priorities is fundraising for the midget football program. “We care about the kids and the

program, so we try our best to keep the cost down for parents,” said Jen Harris, president of the association. At the event, there will be a silent auction featuring sports memorabilia signed by professional athletes, giveaways, music, a photo booth, and a cornhole tournament. A prize will be given to the winning cornhole team. “This event will be super fun,” stated Harris. “We didn’t get to have a season last year due to COVID, so I look at this like a nice welcome back event.” Ticket purchases will provide attendees with food and beverages from Enck’s Custom Catering. A limited number of tickets are available and must be purchased in advance at
https://bit.ly/bbqandbeer. “We wanted to get the community involved in a fundraising event to support the association,” said association treasurer Brian Robertson. “We’re like a big family and want to keep the program going for another 40 years.” Harris noted that this event will be different than what the association has done in the past. “Our board members try to get creative and do things out of the box,” she stated.
