Local Queens Win State Crowns By Dayna M. Reidenouer
Two Willow Street residents have been chosen to represent the state in agriculture advocacy. Cassidy Kuhl, 26, and her daughter, Harper Chase Kuhl, 4, won the titles of 2020 Pennsylvania Mrs. Agriculture USA and 2020 Pennsylvania Tiny Miss Agriculture USA after a competition in March. The pair had served as the Lancaster County titleholders last year along with Cassidy’s sister-in-law, Rebecca Kuhl, who was the Lancaster County Teen Miss Agriculture USA. New Scoreboard Installed For Football A new scoreboard has been installed at the Solanco High School football field. The project was funded by donations from Leon C. Landis Inc. and Paul Risk Associates. The previous football field scoreboard was taken down after 23 years in service. The scoreboard’s final use took place on May 20, when it was lighted in honor of the Class of 2020 and the athletes who missed out on their spring sports. Solanco athletic director Anthony Hall said future plans include replacing the basketball scoreboards in the large and small gymnasiums at the high school and at Smith and Swift middle schools. A new scoreboard will be installed at the high school baseball field as well. Like the football scoreboard, the new basketball and baseball scoreboards will be paid for by contributions from businesses in the community. The Solanco softball field has a
