SOLANCO GRADUATES 2020 & all students in the class of

Solanco Class Of 2020 Set To Graduate The virtual graduation ceremony celebrating Solanco High School’s Class of 2020 will be broadcast at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 5, on www.solanco.k12.pa.us. If possible, a live ceremony will be held on Friday, July 31, at the school’s football field. Information about the July 31 event will be announced later. The pre-recorded ceremony will feature speeches by district superintendent Brian Bliss, high school principal Scott Long, Distinguished Speaker Steve Risk, valedictorian Brandon Daniel-Morales, and salutatorian Caroline Arrowsmith. Finishing up his senior year was not as exciting as Brandon expected it to be, thanks to the shutdown orders announced on March 13, but he has tried to come to terms with it. “I’m not

worrying about what could have been,” Brandon said. Brandon took Advanced Placement (AP) European History, AP Research, AP Calculus, AP Spanish, AP Physics, AP English, and gifted applications this past semester. “I took the classes because they were interesting to me. I wanted the academic rigor,” Brandon explained. Caroline also took AP Spanish, AP Research, and AP Calculus. Through the dual enrollment program, she completed speech and marketing classes online from HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College. Caroline is looking forward to starting her animal science studies at Penn State University in the fall. She wants to eventually work in the dairy industry to help farmers be more profitable, efficient, and sustainable. “I’ve been excited for college for a couple years now,” Caroline said. “I feel See Solanco Graduation pg 2
