with the people who drive them. “You’re just there to enjoy people, talk to them; we see all kinds of things come in. That’s the fun of it,” Quarryville borough manager Scott Peiffer said. Peiffer may exhibit a 1930 Ford Model-A he restored with his late father-in-law. “We started working on it, and it was a bonding experience,” Peiffer said. “I just thought it would be fun to restore something that old. It was a good experience with him.” Steve Grosh from the Quarryville Lions Club also fancies older vehicles. He owns a 1968 Chevelle and two antique Jeeps. “I just love to work on cars. I’ve had Jeeps my whole life. I just like the camaraderie when we

bring these antique vehicles and have other people see them and walk around. The fellowship is great,” he said. Admission to Cruise Night is by donation, with no set entry fee. Proceeds will be divided between the VFW and Quarryville Borough. Funds for the borough will be earmarked for use at the park. Memorial Park is located at 297 Park Ave., Quarryville. In the event of rain, the event will be postponed to Saturday, June 11. Visitors should enter through the Memorial Drive entrance to the park. No alcohol or pets are permitted in the park. For more information, call the Quarryville Borough Office at 717-786-2404 or visit https://quarryvilleborough .com/2021/04/cruise-night.

veryone is invited to attend the second annual Cruise Night at Quarryville’s Memorial Park, set for Saturday, June 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a chance to look at classic and antique cars, listen to music from the 1950s and 1960s from DJ Ray Wimer and savor food provided by the Wakefield Lions Club, including hot dogs, hamburgers, beverages and ice cream. Car owners are welcome to bring their vehicles from 1993 and earlier to display for the public. There is no entry fee and no judging, so cars at all stages of restoration are welcome. This event is being co-hosted by

the Quarryville Lions Club and Quarryville Borough. For many years, the Moonlight Cruisers Club held an annual Cruise Night in the borough. After the club disbanded, the cruise was discontinued and people missed the event. In response, the Lions and the Borough joined together in 2021 to co-sponsor a revival of the activity. Almost 200 cars attended the first edition of the revived Cruise Night last year. The wide variety of vehicles ranged from true antiques of the early years of the 20th century and classics from the 1950s through 1970s to muscle cars and more. The fun of the evening is not only in seeing the cars, but in talking

Students entering fourth through eighth grades in the fall can enjoy a fun and educational robotics camp experience this summer. The camp will take place in the technology education classrooms at Solanco High School, 585 Solanco Road, Quarryville, from Monday, July 11, through Thursday, July 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. each day. “There are lots of summer sports camps, but there really weren’t many academic camps,” said Todd Brown, Solanco technology education teacher, explaining how the idea of the program came about. “I felt we could get in a robotics STEM thing. That way, we keep the kids on par as far as academic thought and knowledge.” A goal of the camp is to introduce students to STEM-based topics in combination with robotics, automation, coding and computer science principles. Organizers hope that early
