Fostering Healthy Relationships By Dayna M. Reidenouer

The Lancaster Metropolitan Planning Organization

Healthy Relationships Week will be observed at Solanco High School on Feb. 10 to 14. The event is sponsored by the Ophelia Club, represented by (from left) Christina Cylc, Emily Stalfire, and Jessica Mendenhall.

The members of the Ophelia Club at Solanco High School hope that by drawing attention to the value of healthy relationships, students will be encouraged to make wise decisions about the people in their lives. The club was launched as part of a national movement to promote healthy self-esteem and relationships through volunteerism, especially for women, explained school counselor and club adviser Lindsay Capoferri. In recent years, the club has opened membership to male students as well. Club members hope to impact the entire school during Healthy Relationships Week, which will be held from See Healthy Relationships pg 3

TRANSPORTATION SURVEY

(MPO) is updating its long-range transportation plan. The plan, known as the Lancaster County 2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) or “connects2040” for short, will serve as a blueprint for the county’s decisionmaking on transportation services and projects. It will also include a long-term spending plan for addressing critical infrastructure needs over the next 25 years. When completed, the MTP will also serve as the transportation implementation element of the Lancaster County Comprehensive Plan. Members of the public are invited to take a survey and share their opinions by Sunday, Feb. 9, to help shape a vision for transportation in Lancaster County. To do so, readers may visit https://connects2040.metroquest.com.
