Beginning at 9:00 a.m., the entire downtown of Red Lion will be closed off to traffic to make room for over 180 vendors, plus concessionaires and performers. Priority was placed in involving local participants from Red Lion plus the surrounding areas of Dallastown, Windsor, Yoe and Felton. There will be FREE face painting and balloon twisting for the kids located AT CENTER SQUARE. Throughout the day, there will be dance and baton acts and musical acts including the Red Lion/
Felton Community Band (sponsored by Laucks and Laucks Attorneys). A dunk tank will be available all day to raise money for 18 South PTC Youth Center. Various animals will be displayed by Patton Veterinary Hospital. Be sure to visit the Red Lion Train Station located on N. Main St. to view their new model train layout. Yes, it is still under construction (several more layers are in the works), but it is still in operation and will be open to the public from 9am4pm the day of the fair. Please enter through the front of the station, which is now fully air conditioned for your comfort. Be sure to check out the new permanent displays in the warehouse consisting of old Loyer’s Pharmacy memorabilia, courtesy of the Historical Society. If you have any questions, please contact Jan Barnhart at the Historical Society.
A free shuttle service from the Leo#1 Fire Company to the Red Lion High School will be provided. Patrons are asked to park at the High School at 200 Horace Mann Ave.

(Red Lion, Pa.) For the second year in a row, the Red Lion Elks Lodge #1592 has infused $3,000.00 into People That Care (PTC) Youth Services in support of 18 South Youth Center in Red Lion, Pa. The funds will be used to support the organization’s 2016 Summer Youth Retreat and its growing after school program during the upcoming 2016-2017 school year. 18 South’s after school activities will resume in September, offering an Open Studio art program on Mondays from 3-5 p.m., a Grub Club cooking program on Tuesdays from 3-5 p.m., and an Open Studio homework program on Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m. All after school programming is free for local teens, ages 13-18. In addition to providing enriching activities and healthy snacks, the programs aim to provide a safe, positive environment where youth can be encouraged. The funds were presented by Elks Representatives Terry Albright (pictured right) and Dianne Poff (pictured left) on June 23, 2016 to the director of 18 South Youth Center, Max Halterman (pictured center). 18 South Youth Center, located at 18 S. Pine St. in Red Lion, Pa., offers a safe, positive environment for teens, age 13-18, to spend their free time. A subsidiary of People That Care (PTC) Youth Services, the center is staffed by caring, responsible adults from local churches who desire to invest in the lives of Red Lion’s youth. Tom Wymard visited the Capitol recently as the guest of Representative Stan Saylor (R-Red Lion) and served as a page for the day during legislative session. Tom is serving as an intern in Saylor’s Red Lion office this summer. He is entering his senior year at York Country Day School where he is a member of student government and a member of the basketball team. Tom was a starter of every game this past season for Country Day’s PIAA District 3 Class A championship basketball team. He will also serve as the Secretary General for York Country Day School’s Model United Nations team during the upcoming 2016-17 academic year. Tom is a bright and energetic young man and will be a great asset to the area’s constituent services. S938689

KIDS’ KAFE SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM Another successful event! Each summer, more than 100 children register for this ten-week program which provides specially packed bags filled with enough fun lunch and breakfast items plus snacks for five days. Our volunteers enjoy the process of filling the bags and distributing to the families while encouraging the youngsters to have a safe and healthy summer. The children also enjoy some group activities and snacks while they are waiting for the grown-ups to finish getting the groceries. SCHOOL SUPPLIES Students of all ages – Pre-School to 12th grade, Home School or Tech School - are welcome to pick out the supplies needed for their fall classes beginning in mid-July and continuing until Labor Day weekend. Stop at the front desk for information or to register. There are always some items in the storage closet for replenishing during the rest of the school year too! OFFICE HOURS Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday: 9am -1pm Thursday: 9am -2pm Friday: 9am -12pm Food pantry is available by appointment for client needs. Donations are accepted during regular hours or call to arrange delivery.
