n unprecedented times, two nonprofit entities in the Village of Intercourse are joining forces to help each other experience the joy of the season. “We’re trying to get the word out that if people shop at Ten Thousand Villages in Intercourse any time on Friday, Dec. 4, between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., and mention the Pequea Valley Public Library (PVPL), a portion of the proceeds from all those purchases will be donated to the library,” said Catherine O’Sullivan, director of PVPL. O’Sullivan praised Tavia Bargmann, manager of Ten Thousand Villages, 3523 Old Philadelphia Pike, Intercourse, saying “Tavia is just wonderful.” O’Sullivan noted that Bargmann is always thinking of the library. “I try to promote them,” O’Sullivan added, stating that Bargmann had set up a display of Ten Thousand Villages products for people to see at the library’s 31 Center St., Intercourse, location. The fundraiser will be part of a twoday celebration that will be held in the Village of Intercourse on Friday, Dec. 4, and Saturday, Dec. 5, during special holiday hours. Open houses,

Earlier this fall, Paradise Elementary School counselor Kelly Loder and facility dog Houdini were walking through the halls at the school when they heard one of the students who was upset. “I said, ‘How about we have a break with Houdini?’” recalled Loder. On Dec. 4, The Brass Ornaments will perform at Kitchen Kettle Village, 3529 Old Philadelphia Pike, Intercourse, from 5 to 7 p.m. From 5:30 to 7 p.m., Grace Point Church of Paradise will hold a live Nativity at Kitchen Kettle. Santa and Mrs. Claus may be found in front of the Jam & Relish Kitchen in Kitchen Kettle Village from 5 to 8 p.m. for contactless photos. From 7 to 8:30 p.m., the Brave Sounds Youth Choir from Pequea Valley Intermediate School will perform. There will also be s’more making for a fee with a complimentary cup of hot chocolate. On Dec. 5, the Clauses will return to the Jam & Relish Kitchen at Kitchen Kettle for photos from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Trilogy Brass Quartet will perform at Kitchen Kettle, and from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., musician Ian Carroll will perform. From 1 to 3 p.m., Ron’s Mutts Holiday Handbell Ringers will play. Candy making demonstrations will be held all day at Pepper Lane Fudge & Sweets at Kitchen Kettle Village.
