Third Interactive Nativity Planned At The Point “Miracle Of Jesus” Will Include New Stop By Ann Mead Ash

“Our prayer is that as families interact with the citizens of Bethlehem and hear how their lives have been changed by meeting Jesus … they will want to know more about how their own lives can be changed by Jesus,” said Heather Ensslen, volunteer coordinator for “The Miracle of Jesus.” This year, “The Miracle of Jesus: A Christmas Event for Families” will be held at The Point, 700 Main St., Parkesburg, on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 2, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. The holiday event, which is in its third year, is organized by Calvary Monument Bible Church in Paradise. The annual live Nativity allows guests to step back in time to biblical Bethlehem, where the residents and

shopkeepers they meet are recalling the night that Jesus was born. Since it has been several years since that special night - and Jesus has gone on to do amazing things, such as bringing a child back to life, feeding thousands with just a few loaves of bread and some fishes, and overcoming His own death - the citizens of Bethlehem have not been able to stop talking about Jesus. Ensslen explained that for 2018, visitors will stop at the magi’s house, where they will meet one of the magi who visited Jesus and learn how to make a cardboard telescope. Guests will also stop at a bakery, where they can knead bread dough and experience the taste of bread dipped in olive oil. Another stop will be the fisherman’s pier, where attendees may try their hand at catching a wooden fish and then have the opportunity to paint their catch. At the spice shop, guests will get to crush their own frankincense and pour it in a See Interactive Nativity pg 4

In May, when Downing Jacobs, president-elect of the Rotary Club of Paradise, was assigned to schedule the club program, he knew right away that he would ask his friend Travis Wetzel, a musician, to perform his Civil War show for the group. “I heard it at the Reading Historical Society last year,” said Jacobs, who plays guitar with Wetzel. “I knew all the songs, and … I knew he would impress everybody.” What Jacobs did not anticipate was how soon after the presentation the See Travis Wetzel pg 3 After
