Church Plans 14th Annual Fall Fun Fest Grace Point Church, 10 S. Singer Ave., Paradise, will hold its 14th annual Fall Fun Fest at the church on Friday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Last year, organizers served more than 650 meals and gave away candy to a large number of costumed children. Highlights of this year’s event will include a 65-foot Radical Run obstacle course, a mechanical bull, a 20-foot dual-lane Flamin’ Volcano slide, and a whack-a-mole game. The fest, a trickor-treat alternative, will also feature a photo booth, crafts, and a variety of games, including a fishing game, a lifesize version of the game “Operation,” a tilting maze, and a “Where’s Waldo” scavenger hunt. The church welcomes community members of all ages to enjoy the free evening of fun. Friendly costumes are welcome, but attendees are asked not to wear scary masks to
the event. The meal is one of the most popular features of the event. Attendees who wish to receive a free meal are asked to register at the welcome center at the event to receive a ticket. Meals will include a choice of a cheeseburger, a hamburger, or a hot dog, along with chips, a whoopie pie, an optional apple, and a beverage. Additional meals will be available for purchase. There is no admission fee to attend the event, and parking is free. For more information, readers may call 717-687-7971 or visit www.gracepointparadise.com.

Workers prepare to remove a 1948 Studebaker Champion from the second floor of a barn located on Old Philadelphia Pike in Bridgeport. Pieter Hegeman, who recently purchased the car, had it moved from the perch, where it has rested since 1965, on Aug. 23. By Ann Mead Ash

Ginny Dissinger, Becky Zimmerman, and friend Demi Porter made a decision to honor the connection of Dissinger’s and Zimmerman’s father, Howard H. Ranck, to the Welsh Mountain Community Center (WMCC). Together, they bid on a picnic table at the Ranck United Methodist Church silent auction. The table had been constructed by young church members. The three asked Dan Pratt, who lives near WMCC, to make a plaque for the table, which reads, “In Memory of Howard Ranck,” and bears the likeness of a surveying tool. The table is now located in the park adjacent to the community center. See WMCC Table pg 3
