Senior Citizens Group To Resume Meeting

The Strasburg Senior Citizens Club will hold its first meeting since February 2020 on Wednesday, July 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Strasburg Fire Company hall, 203 W. Franklin St. The group has been shut down since February 2020 due to COVID restrictions.

Entertainment at the July 21 meeting will be by Nick Visluso on the Yamaha Tyros 4. He will play keyboard music in the genres of country, rock ’n’ roll, easy listening, and dance.

The club was founded in 1966 and has served the community since then. It provides entertainment programs, bus trips, an annual picnic, a Christmas banquet, and other social activities.

Its goal this year is to rebuild membership. For the balance of this year, free memberships will be available. Member cards are good for dining discounts at Strasburg Pizza, Katie’s Kitchen, and Strasburg Creamery.

The community is invited to view more than 200 cars, trucks, motorcycles, rat rods, and semi-trucks at Petra Church’s 12th annual Cruise In on Sunday, July 25, from 1 to 4 p.m., rain or shine. The church is located at 565 Airport Road, New Holland.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the afternoon from New Holland Coffee Company, The Fry Shack, The Crazy Train, and Lickity Split. This is a family-oriented event featuring music, door prizes, and more. Admission is free.
