Long before Cavod’s musical theater camps begin, the students who are participating are cast in a show, receive the script, take part in a read-through, and begin to learn their lines. “On the first day of camp, (students) come with the dialogue memorized, and then we choreograph and polish,” said Cordell Huyard, who oversees the camps for Cavod and is directing Disney’s “High School Musical Jr.,” which will be performed by students taking part in the camp being held from Monday, July 15, through Friday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at Cavod in New Holland. The camp will culminate with the show being presented in the Cavod Theatre, 685 W. Main St., New Holland, at 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, and at the same times on Sunday, July 28.
