Third Spring Fling Planned At PVHS By Ann Mead Ash

“The night is free except for food,” said Amanda Howe, who is advising the student committee organizing the 2019 Pequea Valley Education Foundation (PVEF) Spring Fling. “Any funds that are made are used to help fund next year’s Spring Fling,” she added. According to Grace Martin, one of the student coordinators of Spring Fling, the purpose of the event is to raise awareness and foster goodwill between the school and the Pequea Valley area. “The ultimate goal of Spring Fling is to bring the community together,” Martin said. “We want to bring the community to our school and for our school to be involved in the community.” The third annual PVEF Spring Fling will be held at Pequea Valley High School (PVHS), 4033 E. Newport Road, Kinzers, on Friday, May 17, from 4 to 8 p.m. The

family-oriented event will include a chicken barbecue, local food vendors, free carnival games, a dunk tank, and a 75-foot inflatable obstacle course for children. Local vendors selling soft pretzels and giving away ice cream will be located in the parking lot at the front of the building. Nominally priced meal deals will be sold at the football stadium concession stand. Chicken barbecue dinners will be available for pickup from 11:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. or until the chicken is sold out. Each dinner will include chicken, a roll, a baked potato, a beverage, and dessert. Buckets of five pieces of chicken will be available for purchase as well.
