Giant Launches Delivery Service

The Giant Company together with Instacart, an online grocery platform, recently announced the launch of Giant Instant Delivery and Martin’s Instant Delivery, providing customers with convenience delivery chainwide. Giant Instant Delivery provides customers with fresh groceries, convenience items and household essentials in as fast as 30 minutes.

Giant Instant Delivery and Martin’s Instant Delivery join Instacart’s Convenience Hub, a new product feature that streamlines the convenience shopping experience for customers. Convenience delivery allows customers to access products when they need just a few items quickly. The service is intended to supplement customers’ weekly grocery shopping.

Approximately 20,000 items are available via Giant Instant Delivery with a focus on convenience items, such as prepared foods, snacks and beverages, and other last minute home items such as paper goods, cleaners and baby products.

Customers can place orders at www.instacart.com /giant-instant-delivery and www.instacart.com/martins -instant-delivery. Giant Instant Delivery, which is available as early as 6 a.m. and as late as midnight seven days a week, requires an order minimum and has a delivery fee. For Instacart Express members, Priority Delivery is free.

In addition to the Instacart marketplace mobile app and website, customers will also be able to access convenience delivery via Giant Instant Delivery’s and Martin’s Instant Delivery’s web and mobile platforms in the coming months. These platforms are powered by Instacart’s Enterprise services.

For more information about Giant Instant Delivery powered by Instacart, visit www.instacart.com/giant -instant-delivery.

B.L. OBERHOLTZER AUCTION SERVICE

Royer’s To Collect Holiday Cards, Coloring Pages

Royer’s Flowers & Gifts is collecting holiday cards and coloring pages for service members and veterans throughout November in each of its stores. Royer’s will present the collected items to the American Red Cross’ Holidays for Heroes program.

Cards and coloring pages may be dropped off at any Royer’s store during normal business hours. Free coloring pages can be downloaded at www.royers.com/heroes.

The Red Cross offers several guidelines for preparing the cards. People should use generic salutations such as “Dear service member” or “Dear veteran.” When writing in the card, people should express reasons why they are thankful for the service members or veterans. Those who have a personal connection, such as a family member who served, should add that information to the card.

The cards should not be overtly religious, but messages such as “Merry Christmas” or “God bless you” are acceptable.

Over the summer, hundreds of people located in Ben Franklin Technology Partners’ 32-county footprint in Pennsylvania visited the organization’s website to check out the rules and the application process for its $50,000 innovation contest.

The eight finalists competed virtually via Zoom on Oct. 14. They made their presentations to a panel of independent judges from CARGAS, Perceptive Automata, EG Associates Group, Sheetz and Erie Insurance.

The first-place winner was Faubion, located in Lancaster

County, which took home a cash prize of $30,000. The company, represented by Andrew Wolgemuth and Brian Elliott, created a 3D printing technology and newly developed wax resins that produce replicas of unique bridal ring designs. Other local finalists included American Daedalus, located in Dauphin County, which developed a system that remotely detects and helps avoid atmospheric turbulence. Derek Smith and Jamie Hansen represented the company. BoB Profit Partners, located See Royer’s pg 13 See Winners pg 13
