In 2017, Diane Duell was attending church, and after the sermon, she felt moved to pray at the altar for affordable housing. Church member Judy Schroeder felt the same calling, and the two soon

realized they had been prayng for the same thing. As a result, they decided to form the Cottage Ministry of Millersville Community Church. The mission of the Cottage is to meet the need for safe housing for women and children in the Penn Manor School District. See Craft Show pg 3

Cruise Over To The Conestoga Classic Car Show he First Responders Friends, a local nonprofit organization, organizes car shows to raise money for its local first responders. With the exception of 2020, the First Responders Friends has organized the Conestoga Classic Car Show every year since 2014, and a few months ago, it also hosted its inaugural Pequea Township Car Show. The seventh annual Conestoga Classic Car Show will take place on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This rain-or-shine event will take place at the Conestoga Volunteer Fire Company, 3290 Main St., Conestoga. Cars will begin parking at 8 a.m., and trophies will be awarded at 2:15 p.m. The show welcomes owners of cars, trucks, and motorcycles to register because trophies will be awarded in multiple categories. Whoever would like to enter a vehicle in the show may register at a discounted price by Saturday,

A Ride For The Wounded Warriors BY COURTNEY MENGEL

On Saturday, Sept. 18, the Saddlebag Riders TEAM of Motorcyclists for Jesus Ministries (MJM) will host a motorcycle rally at Bethany Evangelical Congregational (E.C.) Church of Creswell, 1165 Letort Road, Conestoga. Motorcyclists can arrive at the church as early as 9 a.m., and the ride will take off around 10 a.m. through York County. Members from the ministry will ride as a group, and participants are welcome to join or go at their own pace.

It’s a community event,” stated First Responders Friends member April Perez. “People cook out in their yards, hang out all day, and see people they haven’t seen for a while.” There will be giveaways and music. Food for purchase on-site will benefit the Conestoga Volunteer Fire Company. Car show Tshirts will also be for sale. The feature car on the T-shirt belongs to the late Robert Funk of Conestoga, who won the 2019 People’s Choice Award. Robert’s wife, Linda, will bring his 1960 Chevy to the show.
