The Millersville Woman’s Club will hold a meet-and-greet on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 222 N. George St., Millersville, at 6:30 p.m. Area women are invited to attend. Attendees will have an opportunity to chat with club members and learn more about the club’s activities, which include funding Penn Manor scholarships and awards, as well as local and global organizations. The club’s diverse programs and community projects offer a variety of opportunities for participation. Appetizers will be served at the meetand-greet. Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church of Creswell will hold a yard sale at the Living Hope Community Church, 2823 Columbia Ave., Lancaster, on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 7 a.m. to noon. Proceeds will benefit the Conestoga Food Bank, which is in great need of food at this time. The food bank is currently supplying food to 32 families in need. Fifth Annual Car Show Set In Conestoga By Dayna M. Reidenouer
Nearly 350 vehicles were entered in last year’s Conestoga Classic car show, and organizers hope to attract at least that many at this year’s event, the fifth annual, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Street, Conestoga. “It’s the talk of cruisers everywhere,” said Rae Ann Henry, secretary of Friends of the Southern Regional Police Force, which hosts the car show. “People are telling me they’re already registered. They want to be part of the first 200. We have the best goodie bags.” As Henry indicated, the first 200 entries will receive a goodie bag and a souvenir dash plaque. All registered participants will receive lunch, which will be provided by the Conestoga Fire Company, and they will be entered to win door prizes. To encourage early See Conestoga Classic pg 2

“This is really like coming home,” said Susan Faulkner Weaver, reflecting on her planned participation as a demonstrator at the Conestoga Area Historical Society’s annual Harvest Festival, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 23, from noon to 4 p.m. The event will take place on the society’s museum grounds, 51 Kendig Road, Conestoga.
