Registrations Welcome For Conestoga Classic By Dayna M. Reidenouer

The sixth annual Conestoga Classic Car Show has been set for Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Street, Conestoga. Folks who would like to display their interesting vehicles may submit registration forms until Saturday, Sept. 21. After that date, hopeful exhibitors must wait to register at the event. Every paid entrant will receive a lunch voucher. The first 200 vehicles will receive a souvenir dash plaque and a goodie bag from the First Responders Friends (FRF), which is hosting the event. Last year’s car show drew 298 vehicles, including exotics like a Lamborghini, a Lotus, an Audi R8, and an Acura NSX. The Lancaster Memorial Stair Climb committee, including (from left) chair Scott Yuill and Joyce and Frank Mokros, has organized the ninth annual 9/11 memorial event at the Lancaster Barnstormers’ stadium on Sept. 8.

After hijacked airplanes impacted the two towers of the World Trade Center in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001, triggering their collapse, the nation vowed to never forget the lives lost in that tragedy. A decade later, Lancaster-area firefighter Scott Yuill felt he needed to do something to make sure the 343 firefighters who died during rescue attempts continued to be remembered. As a result, Yuill and his firefighter colleagues hosted the first Lancaster Memorial Stair See Stair Climb pg 3
