ABC Keystone recently announced that the 2021 Craft Professional of the Year Award in carpentry has been presented to George Caldwell of Holtwood from Wohlsen Construction Company, Lancaster.
Caldwell received an eagle trophy and a gift card when the announcement was made during ABC Keystone’s Apprenticeship Graduation and Craft Professional of the Year Award Ceremony held on May 20 at the Barnstormers’ stadium in Lancaster.
Award criteria for the Craft Professional of the Year Award is based on the nominee’s mastery of skills; safety performance; jobsite performance and productivity; leadership; and on-the-job body of work. Approximately 90% of the award recipient’s daily job duties must include use of tools or equipment, and the recipient must currently possess a journeyperson level designation.
Caldwell has worked in the construction industry for 41 years. Rising through the ranks from general laborer to master carpenter, he has been employed by Wohlsen Construction Company for 27 years.

CEF Plans VBS Program
Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) of Lancaster County will host a free vacation Bible school (VBS) at Conestoga United Methodist Church, 71 Sand Hill Road, Conestoga. The VBS will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, July 19, through Friday, July 23.
The VBS will include Bible lessons, snacks, missionary stories, games, songs, and crafts. Children ages 5 to 11 are invited to attend.
