Storm Riders: Standing Strong Paddling Adventures Await In The Face Of Addiction At New SUSQ Camp By Dayna M. Reidenouer

By Chelsea Peifer

A new support group in southern Lancaster County has been formed to strengthen families facing addiction. The group has been named Storm Riders, a nod to the song “Riders on the Storm” by The Doors. “It’s for anyone in the family when they need support while riding the waves of the storm of fighting addiction,” explained Jackie Grimsey, who co-founded Storm Riders with Doug and Eileen Cwienk and Kevin and Sabrina Doyle. The group began meeting on May 1, See Storm Riders pg 2

Local teenagers with a hunger for adventure will have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to satisfy their cravings for exploration by attending SUSQ Camp, a new day camp at Columbia Crossing River Trails Center, 41 Walnut St., Columbia. The program will focus on exploring the outdoors through on-water and on-land activities.

Storm Riders was founded by (from left) Jackie Grimsey, Doug and Eileen Cwienk, and (not pictured) Kevin and Sabrina Doyle. The support group for families affected by addiction meets twice a month at Memorial United Methodist Church in Quarryville.
