Community Fellowship Church after its expansion and renovation

Community Fellowship Church (CFC), 200 Bethel Drive, Lancaster, celebrated the completion of a 16-month expansion and renovation project with a ribbon-cutting and dessert reception on March 10. Over 200 people attended the ceremony honoring key CFC staff members, volunteers, and contractors who contributed to the project. Attendees were invited to take self-led tours of new children’s classrooms, an added student auditorium, new offices, and additional meeting space before enjoying a dessert reception in the newly expanded first-floor cafe. Longtime CLC member Jack Risser had the honor of cutting the ribbon due to his involvement as a volunteer in the project. Risser is a Lancaster resident and retired architect. Fry Associates Architecture of Lancaster, designer of the original building in 2004, also designed the expansion and renovation. Construction was completed by Weaver Construction & Roofing of East Earl.

Community Fellowship Church is a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance. It exists to make committed followers of Christ. Relevant Bible teaching, modern worship, and authentic community are all intended to fuel a healthy environment of serving others.

Partnership With League Announced

As Aaron’s Acres grows and moves forward, the goal is to increase meaningful programming to support more individuals with disabilities and their families. In keeping with this goal, Aaron’s Acres has announced a new partnership with the Chuckie Magee Flag Football and Cheerleading League for participants with disabilities ages 21 to 40, which will begin in August.

Chuckie Magee attended Aaron’s Acres camp program when it was first established in 1998. His mom, Bev, was a member of the founding committee of Aaron’s Acres. He was a camper for many years but passed away in 2015 at age 23.

Football games and cheerleading will occur on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon starting Aug. 13. There will be 10 games throughout the fall season. Games will take place at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church.

The program accepts adults ages 21 to 40 with varying abilities and disabilities. Registration will begin during the summer. There is no fee to register. Current details are available at www.aarons acres.org. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

In addition to inviting those who wish to participate in football or cheerleading, Aaron’s Acres will need volunteers willing to support participants during Saturday games. If interested, contact Randy Samuels at cmffl@ptd.net.
