One Worship.
Members of the Penn Manor community and people from surrounding areas are invited to the event, which will be held on Sunday, April 19, at 6 p.m. on Comet Field, 1800 Millersville Road, Lancaster. Attendees can bring blankets and chairs.
“This is for the community,” organizer Christine Glover said. “We are mostly reaching out through Penn Manor schools and churches within the district, but we want our neighbors to feel welcome as well. The evening will be geared towards all ages. We want to see families worshiping together and alongside their neighbors.”
Glover noted there will be between 60 and 90 minutes of music. “Our worship team is made up of professional musicians from multiple local churches and student musicians from the high school,” she said. “Three breaks from the music will consist of short Scripture readings and testimonies from our middle school and high school student leaders.”
The idea for One Worship came from above. “This is something God put on my heart last year,” said Glover. “I tried coming up with reasons not to move forward and excuses for how I should manage my time, but God opened door after door. I know He wants to see His people together, unified, and this worship night will bring all glory to Him.”
She added that the planning process has united Christian

clubs from Penn Manor High School and both middle schools. “The students have gathered for devotions and fellowship together as we have worked on this event, and they plan to continue meeting together monthly,” Glover said. “We see value in bringing people together, especially since Penn Manor is such a widespread district.”
The name “One Worship” came from a conversation Glover had with Jacob Martino during the initial stages of planning.

“I was telling Jacob that I don’t think this event should be organized by a certain church or denomination,” she said. “I believe God just wants to see His people together, and He wants us to feel united. Sometimes it’s good to set aside the little details of life and agreements or disagreements. We can focus on the truth we know about Jesus and just worship Him together. We are one people, gathering on one night, to worship our one true God.” Glover reiterated that the event is designed to bring people together.
“My hope for One Worship is that students, staff and families feel like a community, that neighbors can share in this night side by side, that someone comes for music and feels the love of Jesus, that everyone feels they can invite someone, and especially that everyone feels welcome,” she said.
