New Women’s Health Center Opens By Marcella Peyre-Ferry

La Comunidad Hispana (LCH) held a grand opening event on July 26 for its new Women’s Health Center. The facility is located in the Jennersville Professional Building at 105 Vineyard Way, Suite 200, West Grove. The Women’s Health Center will provide services for women of all ages, including well woman exams, screenings, prenatal and post-partum care and behavioral health. The center expects to serve at least 1,000 patients this year. Services are available to all, with a sliding fee scale for low-income patients. “We welcome all women,” CEO Alisa Jones said. “No one is turned away.” The event also included the unveiling of portraits in the waiting area created by local artist Darcie Goldberg, who

took photographs of LCH patients, volunteers and staff members. In the photos, the subjects were asked to write down their “dream” on a chalkboard. The photos will remain on permanent display at the facility. LCH also has medical locations in Kennett Square and Oxford. “We wanted to bring specialty services to Jennersville,” Jones said. “We can serve our entire service area, which is southern Chester County.” More space for more integrated care has been a long-term goal for LCH. “This is a dream come true,” women’s health director Catherine Domanska Elliott stated. “We now have a space to truly provide integrated care to the incredible women in this community.” Looking toward the future, LCH plans to continue to grow. “This is just the beginning of better access to care See Health Center pg 7
