He toured the facility, met with volunteers and also personally donated winterwear for families in need. Welcoming Yeboah to The POINT was Amy Walton, program director, who pointed out the hundreds of toys that were wrapped and placed in bags ready to be given out. “We have hundreds of kids that come to the youth center, (and parents) call in who need help with Christmas,” she explained. “A lot of the parents ask for hygiene products and clothing, but we all like to NFL player Kenny Yeboah (left) was welcomed by Amy Walton, the program provide gifts for the students. are serving about 90 students this year.” Amy explained that volunteers deliver the gifts to parents in advance, allowing them to place the gifts under the tree for their children themselves. “We fill their orders and pray with them and encourage them for the new year,” she said. Yeboah, who has played tight end for the New York Jets and the Detroit Lions, said he wanted to be part of the Christmastime effort, noting that “giving back to the community is deeply personal” for him. “I just recently played with the Detroit Lions. and assist customers, started at Dutch-Way at age 20. “I had the choice of working in dairy or carts, and I chose carts,” he said, noting that his job choice allowed him to interact more with customers. “I (collect) carts and help people put stuff in their car ts and talk with them.”
“I like working here and helping customers and making them happy,” he added. “Everybody knows me. Some people blow their horn and wave and say hello.” To celebrate the milestone, Peifer earned a monetary bonus and was presented with an insulated mug, engraved with a See Matthew Peifer pg 5

Most recently, she served clients at a commercial industrial and residential real estate law firm where she was involved in arbitration of a counterclaim of more than $800,000. The agency is a community-focused sports and media organization that seeks to build par tnerships between professional athletes and local nonprofits. Brown helped organize a fundraiser at The POINT in May, when Philadelphia Eagles player Brandon Graham was the guest speaker. “(Yeboah) reached out to Justin and said that he wanted to give back and help out the community. Justin reached out to me because we worked together in the past,” explained Dwayne Walton, executive director of The POINT. “(The Christmas distribution) is a really big o p e rat ion for u s ,” he added. “We actually have to shut down the week before Christmas so we c a n p u t to g e t h e r t h e gifts for the families.” While at The POINT, Yeboah offered words o f e n c o u ra g e m e n t t o t h e vo l u n te e rs , s o m e of whom spent time at T he POIN T dur ing their school-age years a n d re t u r n e d t o v o l unteer. “Now you are

back - giving back. That is amazing to see,” he told the POINT alumni. “I just wanted to let you all know that I’m proud of you guys for doing the right thing and helping the community, because that’s really what it’s all about.” Yeboah also toured The POINT and visited its various rooms, including the youth sports room and Lexi’s Art Room, which was named for a former POINT student who died in a car accident. The POINT, located at 700 Main St., Parkesburg, is a faith-based center that provides mentorship, after-school programs, free meals, leadership development programs and a safe environment for youths ages 8 to 18. Many of the young people it ser ves come from households experiencing economic challenges. “ We are grateful for Kenny’s heart for service,” Dwayne said. “The POINT is dedicated to serving youth and families who need support the most, and partnerships like this help us extend that mission even further.” Yeboah also visited the Octorara Area Food Cupboard, which is located next to The POINT, and was given a tour of the facility by director Cherie Myers. Kreider Appointed as Chester County Communications Director

Kreider joins the county after an extensive career with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where he most recently served as Region 3 senior congressional and intergovernmental liaison and as communications director in the EPA’s Philadelphia regional office. Kreider succeeds Rebecca Brain, who will retire at the end of the year after 19 years leading the county’s communications operations and Public Information Office. During his tenure as senior congressional and intergovernmental liaison for EPA Region 3, Kreider led a team responsible for coordinating the agency’s work with U.S. Senate and House offices representing Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. He also served as the primary point of contact for state, county, and local elected officials engaging with the EPA. As communications director for the EPA’s Philadelphia-based regional office, Kreider oversaw a team of public affairs specialists, developed new state-specific communications and government relations strategies, and directed all media-related initiatives. In his new role, Kreider will repor t to C hester County CEO David Byerman and will guide all public information and communications efforts ac ro ss co u nt y de par tments, highlighting county programs and ser vices. Railroad Museum Posts Day Trip
The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania has scheduled its second of several customized rambles for 2026. The Reading & Jim Thorpe Ramble will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19. The day will feature a round-trip train ride on the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad from Reading to Jim Thorpe, a historic borough in the Pocono Mountains known for its Victorian architecture, and lunch at the Broadway Grille in Jim Thorpe. The trip will also include a roundtrip train ride on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, which follows the Lehigh River over bridges, through Glen Onoko, and into the Lehigh Gorge State Park, and it will end with dinner at the Saucony Creek Franklin Station Brew Pub, located in a building once used as a passenger station by the Reading Company.
