Lions Club To Hold Holiday Decorating Contest BY FRANCINE FULTON
Parkesburg-area residents are invited to take part in the annual holiday lights/decorations contest being presented by the Parkesburg Lions Club. Judging will take place on Saturday, Dec. 19, starting at 6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for first-, second- and thirdplace winners. Event organizers said the contest
is something that people can enjoy during the coronavirus pandemic. “It’s something to do for fun. Holidays will be different this year,” noted Lions Club member Robin McKenna, one of the event organizers. “We just wanted to do something fun and community-oriented.” Residents are invited to be as creative as possible while decorating. “There are no real criteria. They did it over the summer. (As part of the activity), you take a picture of a duck you found and post it to (the

For Christmas on Main, people will be asked to collect as many ducks as they can and return them to Experience Positive Therapy, 226 W. Main St., Parkesburg. “Whoever collects the most ducks will get gift cards to HSR Automotive and JDog Junk Removal & Hauling,” noted Alexander. All of the participating shops on First Avenue and Main Street will host local vendors at their locations. “Businesses have been generous to give space in their stores for small vendors who don’t have their own building - artists, crafters and
