During the period when COVID-19 restrictions were in place, the work of children’s ministry leaders was made especially difficult. Unable to meet with children in person, the children’s pastors were pushed to become more creative than in the past in order to reach youngsters via virtual means. For those who take part in CONNECT Children’s Ministry, a program of Lancaster Bible College (LBC), a resource to help inspire innovations was already in place. CONNECT, which has been bringing together children’s ministry leaders for the purposes of networking, brainstorming, and fellowship for several years, was created by Deb Hinkel, former director of the Children and Family Ministries at LBC. Golf Outing, Yard Sale To Benefit Moores Memorial Library BY FRANCINE FULTON
he Friends of the Moores Memorial Library and the library board of directors are planning two fundraisers - a golf tournament and a yard sale and chicken barbecue. Proceeds from both events will go directly to fund

library operations. The 12th annual library golf tournament is set for Monday, Aug. 30, at Tanglewood Manor Golf Club, 653 Scotland Road, Quarryville. A light lunch will be provided at noon, and there will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Dinner will be served at the conclusion of the tournament. The
single player fee includes green fees, use of a cart, lunch, dinner and on-course beverages. Preregistration is encouraged by Monday, Aug. 23; registration forms are available at the library and at www.christianalibrary.org/golf -tournament. Golfers may also register by calling 717-951-8713.
Walk-in registrations will be accepted on the day of the event, space permitting. Golfers may sign up with friends as a group of four or enter as an individual and be placed with a team.
