1859 W. Strasburg Road, Coatesville, will hold its annual Easter egg hunt on Sunday, April 14, at 2 p.m. Attendees will hear the Easter story while the children hunt for Easter eggs. People of all ages are welcome. There will be more than 1,000 eggs filled with wrapped candy. Attendees are asked to bring an Easter basket. Admission will be free and open to the public. Church Plans Helicopter Candy Drops Freedom Life invites parents to bring their children to a helicopter candy drop on Saturday, April 20, at 10 a.m. The event will be hosted simultaneously in three different locations, including SECA Park, 299 Park Ave., Quarryville; Minch Park, 400 West St., Parkesburg; and East Fallowfield Township Community Park, 900 Buck Run Road, East Fallowfield. Teams from Freedom Life will coordinate check-in to distribute bags and party favors to children age 12 and under, as well as prepare for the candy scramble. Before the helicopter arrives at each site, candy will be evenly distributed across a designated area,

which will be roped off from the public. Once the helicopter flies overhead and drops another sack of sweet treats, children will be given permission to fill their bags. The candy drop at East Fallowfield Township Community Park will be hosted in conjunction with East Fallow field Township. In addition to the candy scramble, families will be able to enjoy additional planned activities including a bounce inflatable and music provided by a disc jockey. Yard Sale Will Support Peruvian Mission Speaker To Address Change In Churches Parish Resource Center To Host McLaren

When Dan Henry’s brother, Dave, spoke at Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church (MOPC) earlier this year, he stressed the importance of setting aside preconceived ideas when aiming to help people from other cultures. “ We don’t want to do things our way,” Dan said. “It is better to follow their directions.” Dan related that Dave, who is a Presbyterian pastor in Jefferson City, Mo., and the leader of annual trips to a sister church in Tamshiyacu, Peru, explained that point by using the example of a painting project in Peru. “Churches are always looking at (the question), ‘How do we continue to be the faith community that is relevant and important to the people who come and give time on Sunday morning?’” said Kate Good, executive director of the Parish Resource Center (PRC), 2160 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster. The PRC works with 13 denominations to help answer questions like the one Good posed, and to that end, the organization will bring global activist and pastor Brian McLaren to Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Road, Lancaster, on Saturday, April 27, at 7 p.m. McLaren will speak on “The Changing Nature of the Christian Church.”
