Local Resident Continues To Support African Orphanage By Francine Fulton
Even though the Rev. Dr. Peter Ayukachale lives and works in Chester County, he remains committed to an orphanage that he founded more than 40 years ago. The Kembong Sanctuary for Orphans is a nongovernmental, nonprofit organization founded in 1976 to help abandoned orphans in Cameroon, Africa. The orphanage provides support to meet the children’s basic needs, such as shelter, food, clothing, medical care and schooling. Locally, the sanctuary is supported by Media Presbyterian Church; the mission committee at Central Presbyterian Church (CPC) in Downingtown, where
Brian and Calleigh Huyard of Atglen enjoyed last year’s Ties & Tiaras Dance at Freedom Life Church in Christiana. This year’s event will take place on Feb. 21.
